This paper introduces the system structure and basic functions detailed, and according to the characteristics of the UAV flight control, it designs improvably the fuzzy PID controller, and the results of simulation show that the control method improves the dynamic characteristic and steady precision of UAV. Finally, the system design is reasonable after the flight test, and it can meet the demand of UAV flight control.

A UWB on-body antenna and propagation (AP) channel model is presented through its realistic measurements in an office room, along with its system performance evaluated. To this end, on-body channel transfer function (CTF) is firstly investigated by measuring two compact on-body antennas electromagnetic (EM) coupled data, with which both its parameters of pathloss (PL) and power delay profile (PDP) are extracted. Secondly, two kinds of UWB on-body communication system performance are studied, based on the derived AP channel model. Finally, some conclusions are given concerning the simulated results. It should be pointed out that the existing UWB on-body communication abilities should be greatly improved.

This paper describes the setup and model of a solar panel combined with a heat pump system for domestic hot water and heating. The system has been built at the School of Civil and Building engineering of Loughborough University. Solar collectors provide clean and renewable energy, while the heat pumps can provide energy efficient and environmentally friendly heat when necessary. This paper describes the layout of the experimental system, the model development based on first energy principles and initial simulation results. Local weather data is used to check the working of the model. The current controller controls the flow of hot water into the tanks based on current measurements only. The objective of future work is to apply model predictive control (MPC) to this system.

Ultrasound is widely applied to clinical purpose of not only diagnosis but also therapy. Also, ultrasound has a potential to be applied for targeted drug delivery with microbubble as a carrier in blood vessel. These techniques require accurate position control of therapeutic ultrasound field based on ultrasound image information. Therefore, we propose a robotic system to control a position of an ultrasound transducer for therapy based on ultrasound image information. The system consists of an imaging probe, a robot with the therapeutic transducer, an optical tracking device to integrate the coordinates and positioning software. The system enables the transducer follows to an imaging probe based on a therapeutic plan. In this study, positioning and following control accuracies were evaluated. The results demonstrate the system has a potential for targeting the transducer based on intra-operative planning.

This paper considers the benefit of joint beamforming across multiple cells in a MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) system, where multiple base-stations may jointly optimize their respective beamformers to improve the overall system performance. This paper focuses on the criteria of minimizing the total weighted transmitted power across the base-stations subject to signal-to-interference-and-noise-ratio (SINR) constraints at the remote users. The proposed algorithm is based on uplink-downlink duality to the multicell setting. Simulations reveal that our algorithm provides appreciable performance improvements as compared to the conventional per-cell optimized one.
