This paper presents an application of agile method on academic access and fraud control system. It describes the conceptualization, development, and testing process of a case study, using Problem Based Learning (PBL) and some collaborative tools. It was developed, on the 1st semester of 2012, at the Brazilian Aeronautics Institute of Technology (Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica - ITA) by graduate students during three different multidisciplinary courses involving geographically distributed teams. Its main results are presented, discussed, and analyzed, providing an overview of a successful new academic application development.

With the rapid expansion of the campus scale and the increasing of the geographically dispersed campus, how to adopt new theory, new method and new technology to realize the equipment optimized assignment and the information management is a new research challenge. It is the key to safeguard the national fund to use reasonably, and to speed up the development of education healthily. Through analyzing the domestic and foreign related research works, the paper proposed that it can take use of the spatial data expression and analysis with Geographic Information system (GIS) to realize the large-scale and inter-campuses equipment optimized assignment and information management. It discussed the mathematics model and the system architecture. Moreover, the paper described the key implementation technology in great detail such as spatial data mapping with MapInfo professional 9 and the development of WebGIS functions with MapXtreme. The results show that the solution is feasible and effective.

In this paper, we proposed a lightweight approach of hand gesture recognition for appliance control system, which is a new corner based detector with skin detection and foreground extraction. The skin detection is used as a preprocessing segmentation, and motion based foreground extraction for hand segmentation is also applied to make it more accuracy in variation of light condition, contrast between skin and circumstance. After hand segmentation is done, light-weight corner based recognition is used to recognize the meaning of hand gesture. The performance and computational complexity is evaluated at last as well. The experiments shown our approach has the advantages over the conventional hand gesture recognition.

The feasibility of acquisition heartbeat information associated with emotional states based on body sensor network is a hot research topic. In this paper, we investigate four kinds of method to collect heartbeat information, which contain complementary information of different biological information dimension. This study truly displays the concept of biological information system theory, which can collect heartbeat information with all of a human body's biological system information. Oil is the lifeblood of the global economy. Recently, oil prices have witnessed fluctuations and the prediction of oil prices has become a challenge for researchers. The aim of this research is to design a model that is able to predict the prices of crude oil with good accuracy. We used the daily data from 1999 to 2012 with 14 input factors to predict the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), which is a well-known benchmark. We propose an ensemble of Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference system using a Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm for oil price prediction and the empirical results illustrate high performance and accurate results.

Rheumatism is a violation of the joints,bones,muscles,blood vessels,and soft tissue or al-Qaida-based disease. This paper implements the Electronic Medical Record(EMR) system of rheumatism by java script language based on Browser/Servers(B/S) structure. EMR also called computerized medical record system or computer-based Patient Record(CPR). The system designs database by Structured Query Language(SQL) language and uses the CA certificate to guarantee the security of information. In the process of system design with the expert guidance,further improve the versatility of EMR by adding a treatment module which combining the traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. The test results show that the system has high stability,reliability,and practicability.
