Soil moisture and its fluctuation play an important role in monitoring the water resources recycling within a region. Based on the analysis of the multipath reflection model of Global Positioning system(GPS), the principle and method of simulating soil moisture using multipath error amplitude extracted from the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) data of GPS is described in this paper. According to the principle and method, a simulation algorithm is designed, and a function package is developed to obtain soil moisture fluctuation. In addition, a comparison between the soil moisture fluctuation obtained by the simulation method and that directly measured by a soil moisture meter is performed. The results indicate that the variation of multipath error amplitude obtained by SNR data can reflect the fluctuation of the soil moisture. The results also indicate that the algorithm of obtaining soil moisture using SNR data is effective.

This study conducts a customer survey and performs an analysis using factor analysis, artificial neural networks, and logistic regression analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of the impact of hotel service attributes on customer satisfaction. The results show that among the four hotel service attributes (personnel services, room quality, dining quality, and business and travel services), "personnel services" has the greatest impact on customer satisfaction, whereas "business and travel services" has the lowest impact. Artificial neural network is more accurate than logistic regression analysis for predicting customer satisfaction. Artificial neural networks achieved an accuracy rate of 93%. Although logistic regression analysis has an accuracy rate of 87% for predicting customer satisfaction, it only scores 23.77% for predicting "unsatisfied customers." Artificial neural network is more suitable than logistic regression analysis for predicting customer satisfaction.

In Taiwan, a Web Accessibility service was establishedin 2004, which provides online courses for adult learners with disabilities to acquire job-oriented skills, particularly computer skills. Although a large number of learners have registered for the courses, the percentage of learners who complete their study is rather low. The purpose of this study is to identify issues related to the current services through examining the online learning activities of its participants in the 2012 *** sources consist of discussion statements posted online, discourse of online meetings, and self-reported questionnaires. The results indicate that the service support team was rather dedicated to maintaining the system and courses offered. The learners who submitted the online questionnaires also appeared rather satisfied with the overall services provided. It seems that the low study completion rate, 5.4% in 2012, may not be due to the services per se. Other factors causing the low completion rate must be further explored. Suggestions of future directions for improving the services are provided.

With high-speed and safe railway transportation, it is hard to avoid malfunction of EMU. EMU malfunction's data has the specialties like speediness, multisource, heterogeneous and dynamic. The data are more and more complex. Focusing on the specialties of EMU malfunction data, the traditional data mining algorithms can hardly meet the demands. To solve these problems, we combine the traditional data mining algorithms with the popular cloud computing platform Hadoop, to decompose the task of EMU malfunction's data association rule mining to massive parallel processing on multiple computers in the cluster. We improve the algorithm of cluster load balancing in the mining process, increasing the utilization of computer hardware. On the other hand, we improve the traditional Apriori algorithm in "Join steps", reducing the amount of calculation and improving the EMU malfunction's data mining speed. Finally, we test the performance of the system on different fault data sets, different nodes and different support levels.
