In recent years the evolution of software architectures led to the rising prominence of the service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concept. The services can be deployed in distributed environments and executed on different hardware and software platforms. In the paper a configurable and flexible environment, allowing composition, deployment and execution of composite services, which can be applied in the wide range of SOA-based systems is presented. It supports service semantic description, composition and the distribution of service requests guaranteeing services quality, especially efficient allocating communication and computational resources to services. We present an unified approach, which assumes the semantic description of Web service functionalities with an XML-based language - Smart service Description Language which provides similar features to that of OWL-S or WSDL, however, it was designed to support services execution and monitoring. These unique features allow to design a service execution engine, compatible with the underlying execution environment and providing support for service QoS guarantees.

The Workshop on Engineering service Oriented Applications (WESOA) focuses on core service software engineering issues, as well as keeping pace with new developments that include research into methods for engineering of cloud services. Our aim is to facilitate exchange and evolution of ideas in service engineering research across multiple disciplines and to encourage participation of researchers from academia and industry practitioners, avoiding disconnection between these groups. Over the past eight years WESOA has been able to attract high-quality papers across a range of service engineering topics that were published by Springer in its LNCS series and in a special issue of the IJCSSE journal.

The performance of web service could be influenced when network congestion appears. Methods of service migration can always reduce the communication cost especially when the service is popular and it takes up a lot of network resources. Many essential factors should be taken into account when we make the migration decisions, such as server load, delay, migration cost, etc. There are many strategies put forward and most have good performance. However, the invisible problem the previous work does not consider is that the previous migration strategies are passive and non-directional. The paper proposes a new strategy in which non-source node initiates a migration request actively and provides local network information for the source node in order to make the selection decision. We design a new cost model and a basic infrastructure to support our strategy. The simulation results show that our approach gets satisfactory performance gains.

inspired by immune stability maintenance mechanism, a load balance model of Web services is proposed in this study. An immune system-based SOA load balance model is built with multiple-level immune memory units that collect related information. The load balance problem is studied among three types of entities including service requesters, brokers and providers by an optimization model with two phrases. Finally, a multi-agent simulation platform is used to study the capability of load balance of the model. The experiments and analysis show that the model based on the immune system can improve the performance of load balance for Web services and decrease the failure ratio of requests.

This paper presents a brain computer interface to control an intelligent wheelchair based on EEG signals. EEG signals are collected and analysed by using Emotiv. After signal processing, the events about motor imagery are generated and the commands are designed and transmitted to intelligent wheelchair. Finally, the system realizes the motion control of the intelligent wheelchair through subject's motor imagery of left hand, right hand and legs. Besides, the events about motor imagery are expressed in the form of virtual movement as the feedback of system. The Experiment results show that the control system is feasible and has better stability. It establishes a basis of practical application for EEG control intelligent wheelchair.
