In view of the problems of the degradation of data transmission reliability and the loss of important data caused by electromagnetic interference, environmental noise and node failure in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), an improved LEACH protocol based on the differentiated service model is presented. In this protocol, the gathered data are divided into different transmission levels according to the importance of the data;when the data are forwarded by the source cluster head node, the communication links between the cluster head node and the sink node are increased with the increase of the level of data;for the data with high level, the several redundant links with multi-hops are used to ensure packets to reach the sink node, and for the data with low level, the transmission strategy with low energy consumption is adopted to transmit data packets so as to realize the balance between the energy consumption and transmission reliability in WSNs. The simulation results show that this scheme can obviously improve the transmission reliability of the important data and additional network overhead is not obvious owing to the low occurrence probability of a monitoring event. Compared to the other three protocols, this protocol has better performance, which is very suitable for the application with the requirement for high reliability in data transmission in WSNs.

Monopolies in access networks present challenging problems for network users: providers have no economic incentives to improve service quality or reduce cost. Virtualization of the access infrastructure can enable competition between providers without the need for deploying different physical access networks. For example, municipal broadband networks are owned by local governments and can be sliced to host multiple service providers. In this work, we evaluate the economic incentives in virtualized access networks and compare them to current access networks with limited (or no) provider competition. We also consider fine-grained competition among transit providers to reflect emerging ideas on offering network connectivity and services dynamically through marketplaces. We use an agent-based simulator in a research testbed to obtain results on quality and cost trends as well as on the ability of providers to thrive in the marketplace. Our findings show that having a shared infrastructure and multiple Internet providers is beneficial for subscribers while maintaining a sustainable ecosystem. Moreover, because the risk associated with deploying infrastructure is shared, Internet providers have more incentive to innovate. Thus, our results highlight the importance of virtualizing access networks to leverage economic drivers in this environment.

The type of decentralized production unit that is the subject of this article relates to renewable energy sources, especially wind power. The aim is firstly to propose a solution facilitating the integration of existing wind turbines and also to propose a system of energy generation based variable speed wind can participate in the management of the network. Due to the highly fluctuating and unpredictable wind, a wind alone can not make the adjustment of production. To ensure the production-consumption balance, we propose a solution consisting of a storage system type inertial (SISE), which acts as a buffer between the source and the consumer. This solution has a good dynamic performance and a good life like the wind. Simulation results from the combination of an SISE and the wind generator to increase its penetration in the network and improve its contribution to the servicesystem in Matlab / Simulink are presented.

Breast cancer kills more than 500,000 people every year all over the world. The number of mitotic cells is one important indicator to evaluate breast cancer progressing, and mitotic counting is very tedious and easy to make mistake. Therefore, the development of computer-aided detection (CAD) system is important in diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. In this paper, we propose a CAD system based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) to automatically count mitotic cells. The proposed system consists of three steps. First, a normalization process is exploited to reduce the illumination variance and noise among different individuals as well as highlight the nuclei regions, which can simplify the problem of mitotic counting. Second, an improved convolutional neural network based on LeN et-5 is established to extract features. Last, Softmax can finally determine the location of mitotic cells. Our CAD system was evaluated on the dataset provide by 2012 ICPR mitosis detection challenge, and experimental results revealed that F1 score achieved 0.884.
