To solve the parking slot allocation problem based on shared parking theory, under a comprehensive analysis of the operator's benefit and the factors affecting the user's parking behavior, a 0-1 programming model which aims to maximize system efficiency is proposed. Besides, some evaluation indexes related to operating revenue, customer satisfaction and resource utilization efficiency are put forward. By comparing the results between the proposed model and the first-come-first-serve(FCFS) model, it shows that the result of the proposed model improves the operating revenue by 13.3% and increases parking utilization rate by 8.33% as well as ensuring the customer satisfaction when parking slot cannot meet the demand. The proposed model can solve the allocation problem of multi-parking lots effectively. At last, entropy weight method is introduced to evaluate the results based on different values of penalty factor. It provides a theoretical reference for determining the optimal value of the penalty factor under different request demand.

With the increasing number of GPS-equipped vehicles, more and more trajectories are generated continuously, based on which some urban applications become feasible, such as route planning. In general, route planning aims at finding a path from source to destination to meet some specific requirements, i.e., the minimal travel time, fee or fuel consumption. Especially, some users may prefer popular route that has been travelled frequently. However, the existing work to find the popular route does not consider how to estimate the travelling cost. In this paper, we address this issue by devising a novel structure, called popular traverse graph, to summarize historical trajectories. Based on which an efficient route planning algorithm is proposed to search the popular route with minimal travel cost. The extensive experimental reports show that our method is both effective and efficient. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2016.

At present, the complexities of distributive characteristics in temporal and spatial domain of ocean environmental loading contribute to the difficulties of the fatigue life estimations of marine structures. In shallow water, soft yoke mooring system (SYMS) is considered to be the best mooring system, and has been widely used in oil development in the Bohai Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Soft yoke mooring system establishes the mooring functions via the multi-dynamic mechanism of thirteen hinge joints. The accuracy of fatigue life of the hinge joints is important to ensure the safety of mooring system. The damage failure of hinge joints would cause great financial loss. In 2012, Dalian University of Technology set up a full coupled proto-type monitoring system which consisted of the four sub-monitoring systems, that is, ocean environmental parameters sub-system including wind, current and wave factor, motions and attitudes of the FPSO including six degree freedom of vessel motions, motions and the mooring force monitoring system of the mooring leg. The massive monitoring information is obtained by the integrated software with continuous. The present paper proposes a real-time fatigue life prediction method of upper hinge joint of SYMS based on the prototype monitoring technique. The friction parameter of hinge joints contact surface is increased in long-term service and reduced by adding lubricant. In the SYMS design phase, there is no effective analysis of the repeated friction parameter changes. The variations of friction coefficients caused by long-term cycle stress and maintenance are considered in the fatigue calculation. The stress distribution of hinge joints under design parameter is carried out by using ABAQUS. Through calculation and comparison, the equivalent stress and fatigue damage variable of KPA (Key Process Area, large deformation units and easy wear area) units in the condition of the friction coefficient is 0.15 (design parameter) and 0.95. The movement of human action recognition technology is the key to human-computer interaction. For the movement of human action recognition problem, this paper has studied the theoretical basis of hidden Markov models including their mathematical background, model definition and hidden Markov model (HMM). After that, we have built the establishment of human action on hidden Markov models and train the model parameters. And this model can effectively target human action classification. Compared with conventional hidden Markov model, the method proposed in this paper to solve the movement of human action recognition problem attempts to establish a model of training data according to the characteristics of human action itself. And according to this, the complex problem is decomposed, thus reducing the computational complexity, to the practical applications to improve system performance results. Through the experiment in the real environment, the experiment show that the model in the practical application can be identification of the different body movement actions by observing human action sequence, matching identification and classification process.

In this paper, we propose an intelligent nursing bed system which is controlled by a hybrid brain-computer interface (BCI) involving steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) and P300. Specifically, the hybrid BCI includes an asynchronous brain switch based on SSVEP and P300, and a P300-based BCI. The brain switch is used to turn on/off the control system of the electric nursing bed through idle/control state detection, whereas the P300-based BCI is for operating the nursing bed. At the beginning, the user may focus on one group of flashing buttons in the graphic user interface (GUI) of the brain switch, which can simultaneously evoke SSVEP and P300, to switch on the control system. Here, the combination of SSVEP and P300 is used for improving the performance of the brain switch. Next, the user can control the nursing bed using the P300-based BCI. The GUI of the P300-based BCI includes 10 flashing buttons, which correspond to 10 functional operations, namely, left-side up, left-side down, back up, back down, bedpan open, bedpan close, legs up, legs down, right-side up, and right-side down. For instance, he/she can focus on the flashing button "back up" in the GUI of the P300-based BCI to activate the corresponding control such that the nursing bed is adjusted up. Eight healthy subjects participated in our experiment, and obtained an average accuracy of 93.75% and an average false positive rate (FPR) of 0.15 event/min. The effectiveness of our system was thus demonstrated.

Context: In cloud computing, lock-in refers to the difficulty of porting an application and/or data from one cloud platform to another. Current attempts to address this problem revolve around standardization of APIs and frameworks. We propose a different path, using model-driven engineering (MDE). Objective: Our goal is to build a repository of MDE transformations and use code generation to reduce the development effort for each platform, thus reducing repetitive programing tasks, increasing portability and minimizing lock-in side-effects. Method: To attain this objective, we developed an MDE approach to handle persistence for Google App Engine and Azure, and discuss how MDE can reconcile the differences between features of each platform persistence model. A controlled experiment has been performed to evaluate the proposal, in which subjects were asked to use two versions of the same application implemented using our MDE approach. Both versions, one for each platform, were generated from the same domain model. Results: According to the subjects, no differences in functionality were perceptible between the two versions. Indeed, applications were more easily ported between the two chosen cloud providers without noticeable differences in terms of persistence functionality. Conclusion: The main contribution of our work is to show that there is an alternative path to the standardization of cloud technologies. MDE can increase the portability of the applications by reducing the negative impacts of lock-in. A limitation of our approach, that is inherent to most MDE approaches, is that if the generated code needs to be adapted or modified, the MDE life-cycle can be broken. Changes in the generated code have to be replicated, either in the models or in the transformations, which is not a trivial task.

The popularity of GPS-embedded devices facilitates online monitoring of moving objects and analyzing movement behaviors in a real-time manner. Trajectory clustering acts as one of the most important trajectory analysis tasks, and the researches in this area have been studied extensively in the recent decade. Due to the rapid arrival rate and evolving feature of stream data, little effort has been devoted to online clustering trajectory data streams. In this paper, we propose a framework that consists of two phases, including a micro-clustering phase where a number of micro-clusters represented by compact synopsis data structures are incrementally maintained, and a macro-clustering phase where a small number of macro-clusters are generated based on micro-clusters. Experimental results show that our proposal is both effective and efficient to handle streaming trajectories without compromising the quality. © Springer international Publishing Switzerland 2016.

Hadoop distributed file system (HDFS) as a popular cloud storage platform, benefiting from its scalable, reliable and low-cost storage capability. However it is mainly designed for batch processing of large files, it’s mean that small files cannot be efficiently handled by HDFS. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to store small files in HDFS. In our approach, file size need to be judged before uploading to HDFS. If the file size is less than the size of the block, all correlated small files will be merged into one single file and we will build index for each small file. Furthermore, prefetching and caching mechanism are used to improve the reading efficiency of small files. Meanwhile, for the new small files, we can execute appending operation on the basis of merged file. Contrasting to original HDFS, experimental results show that the storage efficiency of small files is improved. © Springer science+Business Media Singapore 2016.

Android is the most commonly used mobile device operation system. The core of Android, the system Server (SS), is a multi-threaded process that provides most of the system services. Based on a new understanding of the security risks introduced by the callback mechanism in system services, we have discovered a general type of design flaw. A vulnerability detection tool has been designed and implemented based on static taint *** applied the tool on all the 80 system services in the SS of Android 5.1.0. With its help, we have discovered six previously unknown vulnerabilities, which are further confirmed on Android 2.3.7-6.0.1. According to our analysis, about 97.3% of the entire 1.4 billion realworld Android devices are vulnerable. Our proof-of-concept attack proves that the vulnerabilities can enable a malicious app to freeze critical system functionalities or soft-reboot the system immediately. It is a neat type of denial-of-service attack. We also proved that the attacks can be conducted at mission critical moments to achieve meaningful goals, such as anti anti-virus, anti process-killer, hindering app updates or system patching. After being informed, Google confirmed our findings promptly. Several suggestions on how to use callbacks safely are also proposed to Google. © 2016 ACM.
