There has been a rising movement in financial environments towards the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based tecniques. This study aims first to measure document similarity of transparency reports (TRs) disclosed by Turkish audit firms between 2013-2020 through a unique application of plagiarism detection systems. Further, it also aims to observe firm-based attributes influencing both intra and inter similarity scores. The results show that TRs greatly share intra similarity, providing evidence for boilerplate effect recognized in accounting/finance literature. Moreover, firm age, big four involvement, and numbers-to-words ratio have negative effect on the intra similarity while ownership structure has a positive influence on it. On the other hand, the inter similarity is lower for firms having big four involvement, foreign license and higher female partner and numbers-to-words ratios.

This manuscript provides an overview of recent developments in Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (DWI) outside the brain, focusing on liver, breast, prostate, muskuloskeletal (MSK) and cardiac applications. A general introduction to crosscutting acquisition and image processing challenges is first provided. These often include short T-2 relaxation times, the need to image a large field-of-view with the resulting complications in shimming the B0 field and achieving good fat suppression. Some of the strategies developed for dealing with motion, namely cardiac and respiratory motion are described. Specific sections are then presented for each of the aforementioned organs. A motivation for the clinical applicability of DWI is first provided, followed by specific image acquisition and processing considerations. Quantitative imaging is becoming standard in clinical practice, and the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient is routinely estimated in the liver, breast and prostate. Application of alternative signal models in these organs is being explored, including both the Intravoxel Incoherent Motion and Diffusion Kurtosis models. Ongoing efforts are focused on evaluating the potential clinical added value of the extra parameters and on improving their repeatability. MSK and cardiac DWI have shown potential for assessing pathological changes in fiber architecture, but further validation is required to enable application in the clinical setting.

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have attracted a great interest in the last years due to their potential utility for drivers in applications that provide information about relevant events (accidents, emergency brakings, etc.), traffic conditions or even available parking spaces. To accomplish this, the vehicles exchange data among them using wireless communications that can be obtained from different sources, such as sensors or alerts sent by other drivers. In this paper, we propose searching of parking spaces by using a mobile agent that jumps from one vehicle to another to reach the parking area and obtain the required data directly. We perform an experimental evaluation with promising results that show the feasibility of our proposal.

We report on epitaxial growth, processing, characterization and firsts photoresponse experiments performed on GaN/AlGaN lateral Schottky barrier diodes. The epitaxial GaN/AlGaN epistructures were fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy under metal rich conditions on the freestanding GaN substrates. The lateral Schottky barrier diodes were performed using modified transistor processing, which was based on the laser writer lithography. The standard characterization techniques for epitaxial structures and separated lateral Schottky diodes confirmed high quality of the epitaxy and the device processing. The extremely low reverse currents, the high breakdown voltage and high separation resistance between mesa devices testified the very high quality of epitaxial layers and their low residual doping. We present the photoresponse experiments in sub-THz range, which were performed on wafer and for separated lateral diode chips. These results confirm possibility of applications of lateral GaN/AlGaN Schottky diodes as the building blocks of sub-THz devices. © 2016 IEEE.

In this article, the development of the electronic attack (EA) techniques validation environment is presented. EA techniques validation environment is a signal based closed hardware in loop which operates in intermediate frequency. By the development of this environment, radar and EA signals are processed on real time FPGA and the impact of radar and EA systems to each other are tested. Laboratory test environment provides cost/time advantage on both increasing the resistivity of radar systems to electronic attacks and the effectiveness of the electronic attack on the radar systems.

Recognition of lung nodules and classification of them as benign and malignent are very important in diagnosis of lung cancer. Present methods on nodule classification generally concentrate on defining nodule as either benign or malignent but do not consider radiographic descriptors that play important role on classification of small-sized lung nodules. In this paper, features extracted from nodule images to denote radiographic descriptors are studied. With the results from classification and dimension reduction approaches, which images features truly denote radiographic descriptors is analyzed.

In this study, an ultra low-voltage low-power operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) is proposed. Dynamic Threshold Voltage MOS (DTMOS) transistors are utilized in the design for using very low supply voltages efficiently. The proposed OTA circuit is employed in a fourth-order band-pass filter topology which is used in EEG data processing with the help of SPICE and MATLAB programs. It is found that simulations are in close agreement with the theoretical calculations.
