The rapid increase in industrialization and technological progress in recent years has led to the emission of various toxic and harmful gases, which contribute to the deterioration of air quality;Therefore, air quality monitoring has become of paramount importance. Among the various sensor technologies available, chemiresistive gas sensors (CGSs) have attracted considerable attention due to their simplicity in construction, cost-effectiveness, and ability to detect a wide range of gases. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the importance of CGSs in diverse applications, including environmental monitoring, industrial safety, and healthcare. The present review discusses bibliometric analysis highlighting publication trends, citation metrics, collaboration networks, and keyword usage, providing insights into the research field by analyzing Scopus data from 2013 to 2023. It also summarizes recent advances in CGS technology, including new sensor materials, fabrication techniques, and integration of CGS into smart devices. Despite significant progress, challenges such as excellent selectivity and sensitivity, and long-term stability still remain uncertain. We also discuss future research directions aimed at addressing these challenges, including development of novel materials, use of machine learning for improved selectivity, and miniaturization of sensors for various applications, including flexible and wearable applications. © 2025 ieee.

Due to its core characteristics, blockchain research has gained attention (Alrubei et al, in Ethereum blockchain for securing the Internet of Things: practical implementation and performance evaluation. ieee, 2019 [1]). This is because it provides anonymity, security and integrity and is independent from the reliable 3rd party organizations. Blockchain technology could initially only be employed with currency. However, applications outside of crypto currencies are already being created and investigated thanks to the emergence of Ethereum, which enables the development and how smart contracts are executed (miniature computer programmes that operate on blockchain technology). The fact is that an enormous progress has been made for the improvement of the technology of blockchain and stress is given on smart contracts (Zhaofeng et al, in ieee Trans Ind Inform 16(3):2013–2021, 2019 [2]). It was found that few descriptive studies on the application of smart contracts for security of IoT and Internet are present. Emotions pose a challenge when it comes to precise definition and interpretation. As a remedy, music emerges as a suggested art form for its potential in aiding mood regulation. Our proposed approach exhibits the potential to enhance system accuracy. This is achieved through a reduction in computation time for result generation, leading to improved overall efficiency and lowered operational costs of the devised system. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we employed the FER2013 dataset, utilizing an integrated camera to capture facial expressions. The process involves extracting features from facial photographs to discern various emotions, encompassing happiness, anger, sadness, surprise, and neutrality. Leveraging a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), we implemented a mechanism for detecting facial expressions, attaining an impressive detection accuracy rate of approximately 95.14 percent. The implementation employs a range of Python packages including WebRTC, Keras, and MediaPipe to facilitate the capture and analysis of users’ facial emotional cues. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Despite rapid advancements in vehicle and human integration within road transport systems, the role of road pavement structures has been largely overlooked. This paper is motivated by the critical need to address this gap, particularly in light of the growing challenges posed by global climate change. The road transport system, as an integrated "human-vehicle-road" unit placed within the environment, has undergone significant changes to this day. However, this rapid development has been predominantly confined to two elements of the system: humans and vehicles. Vehicles and their drivers are receiving increasingly specific and targeted information about traffic processes, and the role of humans in processing this information is progressively being assumed by vehicle intelligence. As a result, humans and vehicles, as system components, are becoming increasingly integrated. As an innovation in infrastructure, the road pavement structure has largely been unaffected by current developments in material technology and vehicle advancements, with no significant breakthroughs beyond typical alternatives to asphalt or concrete pavements. This article explores whether the presumed future impact of global climate instability might reshape the developmental trajectories of certain elements of the road transport system and whether the need to address weather extremes could bring research related to the resilience and climate adaptation potential of road pavement structures to the forefront, potentially at the expense of the vehicle and driver, the other two system elements. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Based on field monitoring results, this study employed the environmental fluid dynamics code (EFDC) model to examine the water resource capacity and hydrodynamic water quality of Dongjiang Lake and establish the two-dimensional hydrodynamic water quality model in line with the actual condition of Dongjiang Lake. From the attenuation coefficients of various pollutants in different control units of Dongjiang Lake basin as described in the Research Report on Environmental Quality, the Pollutant Discharge and Environmental Capacity of Zixing in 2013, and the average water quality at actual monitoring points in 2016, statistics of the pollutant storage volume and environment capacity utilization in 2023 were employed in this study. The results indicated that the theoretical discharge of pollutants in Zixing City comprised the discharge of pollutants from upstream counties and the discharge of pollutants in Zixing district. In Zixing, a surplus of 25% COD, 17% ammonia nitrogen and 54% TP was observed, but TN exceeded 105% of the capacity. Further, certain measures were suggested to maintain the water quality, including adherence to the scientific and technological innovation, improving the mechanism, and enhancing the inclusive and sustainable utilization of water resource in the whole region. Moreover, the local government should vigorously advocate social inclusiveness and comprehensively enhance the coupling coordination level of water resource system and strengthen the policy suggestions on the establishment of coupling coordination capability of water resource systems among provinces, cities and counties. © 2025 The Authors.

In last few years, anecdotal evidence of mostly positive experiences with the implementation of agile development has emerged from various case studies. This enables data gathering from a larger sample of organizations, to learn about the factors driving the adoption and use of agile practices, and their benefits and challenges as perceived by early adopters of this software development methodology. From the studies it's discovered that present agile methodologies have some unsuitable practices. These practices can be revisited and thus a new model for agile methodology is proposed in this paper, which increases the productivity. © 2013 ieee.

Physical Cell Identity (PCI) assignments and conflicts are still posing huge challenges in the LTE-femtocell based network. This challenges stem from the problem of only 504 unique PCls are available in the LTE network. In this work we propose an approach to solve this problem with minimum needs of human intervention, besides preserving the network resources by discarding the need of periodically updating the network neighbor list and also discarding the need to resolve searching conflict and healing. © 2013 ieee.
