With the development of deep water cage culture digital management technology and accurate cultivation techniques, monitoring the overall deep water cage culture environment has become extremely important. A deep water cage culture environmental monitoring system is proposed for distant deep water cage culture sites to address the inconvenience of manual monitoring and the low realization rate of automated environmental control. The proposed system integrates a ZigBee wireless communication network, an Ethernet-based server monitoring platform, and a mobile client monitoring platform. Information about the cage culture environment is obtained by logging in to the remote server via the mobile client, and the available information includes water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and water velocity. This system achieves accurate monitoring of the deep water cage culture environment, and also solves field cabling and low efficiency problems. Additionally, the TCP/IP-based server monitoring platform and the mobile client monitoring platform are fully functional with a friendly user interface, which provides efficient and convenient management for culturists.

The study of rodent animal's social behavior has a key role in the field of biology and medicine, and it's a challenge to track multiple animals individually in the group experiment. The trajectories swap is a common problem in multiple mice tracking, and it is difficult to be solved by single vision method. This paper discusses a hybrid tracking method using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and computer vision. It first adopt the nearest neighbor method to link the positions of each target in image and form the original trajectories. Then location data recorded by the RFID system are fused with the trajectories identified by the vision system. Once the trajectories swap appears, the method uses the RFID location data to correct the identities of the trajectories. This paper presents the design of the vision tracking and RFID location system, and the data fusion algorithm of vision and RFID. It also presents the performance of the method with experimental tests.

The bulk materials handling industry faces significant challenges in the control of dust to ensure continued sustainable operation and to meet emissions regulations and goals. With Australia's industry emissions of particulate matter below 10 μm increasing from 530 million kilograms in 2009/2010 to 920 million kilograms in 2013/2014 [1] the problem is clear and the need for improved technology and methods for the control of dust is essential. This paper outlines some of the different techniques that can be used for the control of dust focusing on the use of water spraying systems for airborne dust suppression. The mechanisms contributing to efficient airborne dust capture are briefly described and some improved techniques for the design of airborne dust suppression systems utilising new technology is outlined. New high pressure atomising technology presents the possibility of higher efficiency dust control systems when designed in combination with more readily available CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), DEM (Discrete Element Method) and CAD (computer aided design) packages. The implementation of these technologies are presented with the aim of improved dust control system design.

As the requirements of smart grid for reliability and operational flexibility improving, construction and transformation of the distribution network have become frequent. However, drawing and maintaining the one-line diagram in manual way cannot satisfy the requirement because of its large workload and fallibility. This paper presents a method for automatic generation of one-line diagram of distribution network with multiple feeders. The method consists of two steps: generate the initial one-line diagram and adjust this diagram. In the first step, the directed edge-list and device information of the network are used as input, and the original topological graph is partitioned into feeders by removing the tie lines. Then we allocate sufficient drawing area for each feeder. Considering the effect of its adjacent feeders that have been generated and the new feeder will connect with, it is crucial to assign the optimal directions to branches. In the second step, the overlap and cross in the interior of each feeder will be eliminated. And in order to reduce the total area of the diagram, the space among the feeders will be adjusted and the longer branches will be handled. Finally, the experiments are conducted in the simulation system that we design and develop, and the results illustrate the method generates an excellent and readable one-line diagram of multiple feeders.

A prototype of home management system (HMS) controlled by mobile device was developed by project teams at Computing Education Academy (CEA) at Fairfield University by integrating Arduino with AppInventor. CEA was established at Fairfield University in 2013 to expose high school students to key computing concepts and basic computer programming through hands-on activities and to motivate students to enter post-secondary education and career opportunities in computing. CEA class modules include Scratch, AppInventor, Circuit design, Arduino, and final team project of developing home management system under the guidance of graduate assistants and faculty of Fairfield University. Home management system consists of several modules to remotely control the lamp, central light, air conditioner, door lock, and other electronic devices in the room using mobile app. Each team created one module which controls and displays the current status of each component through user interface from home screen of the system on mobile device. Various sensors, receivers, motors, relays are used and integrated with the Arduino GSM Shield. Details of implementation and future direction are discussed.

Modern very large scale integration designs incorporate a high amount of instrumentation that supports post-silicon validation and debug, volume test and diagnosis, as well as in-field system monitoring and maintenance. Reconfigurable scan architectures, as allowed by the novel ieee Std 1149.1-2013 (JTAG) and ieee Std 1687-2014 [Internal JTAG (IJTAG)], emerge as a scalable mechanism for access to such on-chip instruments. While the on-chip instrumentation is crucial for meeting quality, dependability, and time-to-market goals, it is prone to abuse and threatens system safety and security. A secure access management method is mandatory to assure that critical instruments be accessible to authorized entities only. This paper presents a novel protection method for fine-grained access management in complex reconfigurable scan networks based on a challenge-response authentication protocol. The target scan network is extended with an authorization instrument and secure segment insertion bits that together control the accessibility of individual instruments. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first fine-grained access management scheme that scales well with the number of protected instruments and offers a high level of security. Compared with recent state-of-the-art techniques, this scheme is more favorable with respect to implementation cost, performance overhead, and provided security level.

In presence of known and unknown vulnerabilities in code and flow control of programs, virtual machine alike isolation to confine maliciousness of process is an effective strategy to contain the attack effects in isolated environment. But most of proposed isolation techniques does not offer execution sandbox. A process running in isolated environment with unrestricted access, without explicit mechanism for restriction on access for native system resources such as system call table, network and file system, can access unauthorized resources. In this paper, we propose a sandbox technique for applications running in Virtual Machine alike isolation. The proposed solution is a reference monitor that works without tampering with transitioning mechanism of process and does not require changes in program or kernel. We implemented prototype as executable shared library for dune that provides isolation to native Linux process. Reference monitor uses seccomp BPF filters, Linux Secure Module Apparmor and ptrace utility of native kernel to restrict access to system resources. Experimental results show that proposed technique provide security with acceptable overheads.

design automation (DA) research has for over fifty years been performed in academia, semiconductor and system companies, and EDA companies worldwide. This research has been enabling to continued scaling of design productivity and growth of the semiconductor industry. For product companies, funding program managers and individual researchers alike, a highly relevant question is: what DA research, and what DA research outcomes, ultimately have the greatest "impact"? In this paper, we present measurements and analyses of DA research outputs (papers, patents, EDA companies), upon which future metrics of DA research impact might be based. Our studies consider 47000+ conference and journal papers from 1964-2014;the inter-patent citation graph over 759000+ DA-related patents;abstracts of 1150+ U.S. NSF projects over a three-decade span;36 research needs documents of the Semiconductor Research Corporation from 2000-2013;and market segmentation of hundreds of EDA companies. We identify several interesting correlations, but do not claim to identify causal relationships;indeed, connecting traditional measures of research output to real-world impacts seems quite challenging. We conclude with several directions and targets for future investigation.

Sandbox, process container and process isolation all provide the design to control and monitor execution of untrusted applications. Most of these solutions use virtualization to provide VM-equivalent isolation for sandboxed process. Sandboxing incurs sufficient overheads in providing secure execution of untrusted binary. Memory is one of such resources which can be bottleneck for scalability of sandbox to control execution of most of apps on single system. In this research, we present a novel page reclamation technique to reclaim pages from sandboxed applications. Page reclamation evicts pages of process which are least recently used in active working set. Proposed technique use Page modification logging(PML) hardware virtualization extension to get working set of isolated process. We implemented proposed technique as extension to one of sandboxes that use hardware virtualization extensions. In evaluation, we successfully reclaim 5% to 11% memory with negligible CPU overhead.

"Rebooting Computing" (RC) is an effort in the ieee to rethink future computers. RC started in 2012 by the co-chairs, Elie Track (ieee Council on Superconductivity) and Tom Conte (computer Society). RC takes a holistic approach, considering revolutionary as well as evolutionary solutions needed to advance computer technologies. Three summits have been held in 2013 and 2014, discussing different technologies, from emerging devices to user interface, from security to energy efficiency, from neuromorphic to reversible computing. The first part of this paper introduces RC to the design automation community and solicits revolutionary ideas from the community for the directions of future computer research. Energy efficiency is identified as one of the most important challenges in future computer technologies. The importance of energy efficiency spans from miniature embedded sensors to wearable computers, from individual desktops to data centers. To gauge the state of the art, the RC Committee organized the first Low Power Image Recognition Challenge (LPIRC). Each image contains one or multiple objects, among 200 categories. A contestant has to provide a working system that can recognize the objects and report the bounding boxes of the objects. The second part of this paper explains LPIRC and the solutions from the top two winners.
