This piece of work provides a hybrid power plant integrating a wind coupled with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), a super-capacitor (SC), a battery and a diesel engine (DE) set which operates without a grid connection. Each subsystem (e.g., wind, SC, battery, DE) has controlled through non-isolated PID/PI embedded controller power converters while the overall operation and power flow priorities are achieved through Programming Logic controller (PLC). According to the algorithm, the wind has the priority to meet the demand. The SC and battery modules are utilized as an energy storage devices during surplus power and/or backup during demand. A diesel engine is also added to increase the reliability of the system for 24 hours. The performance of proposed design is tested at different wind speed and load conditions for a small community at Karachi, Pakistan. MATLAB results conclude the effectiveness of proposed system in terms of power quality and load tracking.

The virtual synchronous generator (VSG), which overcomes the impact of the traditional inverter without the moment of inertia to the power grid, improves the stability of the power system and has received extensive attention in Micro-grid. However, since the VSG uses the traditional active power-frequency droop control, there is a frequency deviation in island mode, which will adversely affect the load in Micro-grid. A frequent deviation-free control strategy based on VSG is proposed, i.e., the frequency proportional-integral (PI) module feedback is used to replace the traditional damping module. It will eliminate the frequency deviation of Micro-grid in island mode and realize the Micro-grid inverter to work in multi-mode control. The simulation results show that the effectiveness of the presented VSG based frequent deviation-free control strategy.

The purpose of this work is to improve the tracking performance of the iterative learning control(ILC) by designing a new learning law that has the ability to update the input along both the time and iterative axes. First, the reference is generated by a high-order internal model(HOIM) along the iterative axis and can be approximated by an HOIM along the time axis. Then,the HOIM-based repetitive control(RC) and ILC design methods are introduced, which can update the input along the time and iterative axes, respectively. Inspired by the design methods of the HOIM-based RC and ILC, a new ILC scheme, named as repetitive iterative learning control(RILC), is constructed by incorporating both the HOIMs of the reference along the time and iterative axes. Due to the additional use of the time-varying information of the reference, it is verified that the RILC is superior to the ILC. Finally, a microscale robotic deposition system is given to illustrate the advantage of the proposed RILC scheme.

In the sectorial scan(S-scan) view of the ultrasound phase array system, the echo data produced from the ultrasonic sensors usually are acquired in the polar coordinates, but need to be displayed in the Cartesian coordinates, which can then realize image reconstruction with pixel filling technology. To effectively perform coordinate conversion and improve the smooth and detailed regions of the ultrasonic S-scan image, herein we propose an algorithm of performing coordinate conversion with the interpolation by using the Radix4-CORDIC and sectorial interpolation technology. The algorithm is validated according to the implementation of FPGA technology, and the results demonstrate the algorithm has good real-time performance and can greatly improve the quality of the S-scan image.
