Tracking and rejecting periodic signals are common tasks in many control applications. A well-known use of Repetitive control (RC) is to both track a periodic reference signal and reject periodic disturbance. This paper reviews various designs of RC that are classified into basic RC design and robust RC design. The recent applications of RC are also presented in this paper.

The working status information of key equipments serving at operation and controlsystem is of great value for safe and productive operation in urban rail transit. Properly utilizing and tracking the working status from operation record data, is for sure meaningful in evaluating the working status of those key equipments, and can thus acquire the stage status in their life cycles. In this paper, based on a exhaustive study of the annual operation record data including number of failure, mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR) of track circuits which is serving as a kind of key equipment in Shanghai Metro Line 2, a quarterly comprehensive evaluation method has been proposed. By employing the proposed method, the working status of track circuit in Shanghai Metro Line 2 has been studied in detail, moreover, the stage in its life cycle from data has also been discussed.

Mobile devices are getting more capable every year, allowing a variety of new applications, such like supporting pedestrian navigation in GPS-denied environments. In this paper we deal with the problem of combining in real-time dead reckoning data from the inertial sensors of a smartphone, and the WiFi signal fingerprints, which enable to detect the already visited places and therefore to correct the user's trajectory. While both these techniques have been used before for indoor navigation with smartphones, the key contribution is the new method for including the localization constraints stemming from the highly uncertain WiFi fingerprints into a graphical problem representation (factor graph), which is then optimized in real-time on the smartphone. This method results in an Android-based personal navigation system that works robustly with only few locations of the WiFi access points known in advance, avoiding the need to survey WiFi signal in the whole area. The presented approach has been evaluated in public buildings, achieving localization accuracy which is sufficient for both pedestrian navigation and location-aware applications on a smartphone.

"A New Multilevel Solar Panel system for Urban Areas" by Ahmed Hosne Zenan, Sanjana Ahmed, Md. Khalilur Rhaman, and Mosaddequr Rahman in the proceedings of the 39th ieee Photovoltaic Specialists Conf. (39th ieee PVSC), June 2013, pp.1526-1530 The increase in population results the scarcity of land and electricity. The development of lands in rural areas affects the installation of new generating stations. The effective usage of solar energy helps to reduce the demand of electricity in rural areas. The rooftops are used for the generation of solar energy and it is of limited area. In such cases a three layer solar panel arrangement is proposed. It can also used in balconies of apartment to catch solar radiation. By this arrangement, the effective utilization of space can be done. The customized design reduce the cell temperature and shading issues. This arrangement will helps to reduce the space requirement about 30%.

In this study, an active suspension system with multiple non-identical delayed resonators (DR) is proposed in order to, suppress vibrations that are caused by railway track irregularities. Mathematical models for a railway vehicle and track irregularities are given. In addition to this, methods on choosing the physical parameters and the design steps of multiple DR are mentioned. Simulations using the approximate mechanical parameters of a Shinkansen SKS300 train are made. Results and comparison with other methods are also given to evaluate the success of the proposed method.

Adaptive control of an Aerial Manipulation Vehicle is discussed here. The aerial manipulation vehicle consisting of a quadrotor and a robotic arm has a highly coupled dynamics. The nonlinear coupling introduces additional forces and moments on the quadrotor which prevents it from precisely hovering at a position and tracking of reference trajectory. A decentralized control of robotic arm and quadrotor is considered. The robotic arm is controlled by a PID approach with acceleration feedback, and the quadrotor is controlled by PD method in the inner loop and adaptive position control in the outer loop. The proposed method successfully handles the problem of hover stabilization and trajectory tracking.

This paper studies the generalization of composite nonlinear feedback (CNF) control using arbitrary order set point filters, which focus on the initial stage of the transient response. The set point filters can be used to provide more performance by shortening the rise and settling times of the controlsystem. Furthermore, the filters operate outside the feedback loop, and hence, they do not sacrifice loop robustness. The new method is illustrated by a benchmark problem found in an open literature. The simulation results show that the proposed method improves the set point response more than 10% in terms of settling time.

Recent studies have shown that adaptively regulating the sampling rate results in significant reduction in the computational resources of embedded software based control. Selecting a uniform sampling rate for a control loop is robust, but pessimistic for sharing processors among multiple control loops. Fine-grained regulation of periodicity achieves better resource utilization, but is hard to implement online in a robust way. However, an offline control theoretic analysis of the system illustrates the benefits of proper period selection for different modes. Such analysis reveals the necessity to automatically derive a multi-mode scheduler and converge on suitable periods for each mode. This paper proposes a methodology to automatically generate such a scheduler for an embedded real-time controlsystem leveraging its design attributes. The proposed method provides significant gains in computational efficiency without trading off the performance.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is the vast area of research in the field of networking. A number of challenges are faced by such type of battery operated networks. In WSN, the sensors are attached to the hardware motes devices. These sensors are responsible to sense the certain events happening in the near surrounding. This sensed data is communicated with the radio/antenna attached to the sensor nodes via wireless medium. There are basically four layers discussed in WSN, namely, physical layer, MAC layer, network layer and application layer. In our paper, we discussed some recent congestion control techniques of 2013, 2014 and 2015 also.
