Along with the development of air transportation industry, aircraft in airspace increase dramatically which threats the airspace safety because of the great difficulty to keep required separation between aircraft when aircraft density is very high. Conflict resolution plays an important role in guaranteeing airspace safety by eliminating conflicts, which has drawn much attention. Compared with current approaches, we propose a multi-agent solution to aircraft conflict resolution based on satisficing game theory which considers the decreases in conflicts and economic losses. Firstly, aircraft involved in conflicts are assigned different statuses based on specially designed priority ranking mechanism. Then, they can choose the most satisficing strategy from policy set including five speed adjustment strategy with consideration of others' preference. Finally, a new evaluation criterion based on Required Time Arrival (RTA) is introduced to ensure that the whole system can reach a socially coherent compromise. Simulation results on three classical scenarios show that our approach has strong adaptability and robustness in conflict resolution problem.

In single observer passive location system, traditional filtering algorithm for nonlinear system is Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF), which is usually affected by initial values and measurement noise of passive tracking. In order to overcome the disadvantages of EKF, we present an improved Modified Variance Extended Kalman Filter (MVEKF) method in single observer passive location system, using phase difference rate. Simulation results show that it can effectively restrict the measurement noise, being less affected by initial values. Furthermore, there is no need for searching observables modifiable function, so the proposed MVEKF is more accurate and useful than EKF in single observer passive location.

However, it is important to obtain the transfer function as accurately as possible for such systems to be able to provide the desired performance using a controller. If the system has dead-time, the design problem becomes more complicated. This paper presents a new modeling method for under-damped second order systems with an inverse response to overcome the difficulties both in the analysis and design. Besides, a PID controller design in discrete-time domain is also introduced to provide a good performance in the closed-loop. The performance of the proposed modeling and control technique is demonstrated on an example using simulations.

The paper presents an optimal solution for eliminating pre-specified order of harmonics from three-phase inverter. One solution to this problem is the selective harmonic elimination, which is required to solve multiple nonlinear equations simultaneously. Genetic algorithm (GA) technique is introduced to minimize the computational burden associated with the nonlinear transcendental equations of the Selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation (SHE-PWM) method and initial values are not properly guessed. However, the convergence speed is relatively slow and code length has great influence on the accuracy. In this paper, the hybrid GA method based on the refinement of the genetic algorithms results through the Newton-Raphson method was used to simultaneously solve the nonlinear equations. Simulation research on harmonic elimination model was carried out by Matlab software. The results show a considerable effect on decrease in the total harmonic distortion. The proposed algorithm could calculate switching angles efficiently resulting in fast convergence.

system Identification is a key technology for the development and integration of modern engineeringsystems including unconventional flying vehicles. These systems are highly parametric with complex dynamics and nonlinearities. Ducted fans are special class of these vehicles that can take off vertically, hover and cruise at very low speed. In this paper, an exact equivalent linear system is found from the non-linear dynamic model of a ducted fan by use of frequency response identification. Here, power spectral density analysis is performed, using CIFER software, to evaluate the input-output responses in hover and to derive the transfer functions based on the coherence criterion. Then, controllers are designed by utilizing the identified transfer functions and the performance characteristics of the controllers are evaluated in fully non-linear simulation of the system.
