This paper presents a mobile robot developed in the laboratory LAFMIA UMI. The proposed mobile robot satisfies a differential structure kinematic model which has undergone through extensive studies by several authors. The proposed scheme is a reactive control which aims to solve the task of tracking walls using a strategy, based on laser sensor measurements and inertial sensors. This reactive control algorithm uses the perception of the environment and takes actions that depend on the sensory information. All the actions performed by this robot happens in a controlled manner, which is achieved through proper planning of the system by introducing a built-in saturation into the PD controller for specific parts of each maneuver, which has given good results for a proposed task.

Access control Policies are one of the key challenges affecting Service oriented Architectures (SoA). This is due to the nature of SoA, which is based on the distributed invocations of Web services. This makes it crucial to develop a method of on-line assignment for Access control Policies and Web services. This paper proposes a service referred to as Access control Policies (AC_Polices), which allows the simulation and verification of information flow security for access control policies. It extends an existing approach that was proposed to coordinate invocations of Web services from a performance perspective, to harnesses the capability of Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) to automate the creation and integration of the Protocol Service and Access control Policies (AC_Polices) service, which are computed, generated and integrated automatically into the system. As a proof of the concept, the suggested approach was implemented in the form of an Oracle JDeveloper plugin. The paper concludes with the empirical results, detailing the performance-related aspects of the proposed method.

This paper aims to design a model of integrated scheduling and automated controlling for a surface treatment process in an aircraft manufacturing company, where in this case aircraft parts are dyed into chemical liquid to be corrosion-proof. In the existing plant, parts dyeing processes (moving the crane and monitoring the tanks temperature) are done manually. Integrated scheduling and automation controlsystem is proposed to improve planning, control and safety issues in the dyeing process. The scheduling system is developed using fuzzy logic algorithm to minimize makespan and the automation system is designed based on Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). A case study has shown that the simulation of proposed model can result in reducing makespan of about 51,3 % and the schedule can be implemented automatically in the surface treatment prototype.

In this paper performance of LQR and ANFIS control for a Double Inverted Pendulum system is compared. The double inverted pendulum system is highly unstable and nonlinear. Mathematical model is presented by linearizing the system about its vertical position. The analysis of the system is performed for its stability, controllability and observability. Furthermore, the LQR controller and ANFIS controller based on the state variable fusion is proposed for the control of the double inverted pendulum system and simulation results show that ANFIS controller has better tracking performance and disturbance rejecting performance as compared to LQR controller.

The paper discusses the design of cyber-physical systems software around intelligent physical worlds (IPW). An IPW is the embodiment of control software functions wrapped around the external world processes. The IPW performs core domain-specific activities while adapting its behavior to the changing environment conditions and user inputs. The IPW exhibits an intelligent behavior over a limited operating region of the system - in contrast with the traditional models where the physical world is basically dumb. The intelligent behavior of IPW is feasible when certain system properties hold: function separability and piece-wise linearity of system behavioral models. To work over a wider range of operating conditions, the IPW interacts with an intelligent computational world (ICW) to patch itself with suitable control parameters and rules/procedures relevant in those changed conditions. The modular decomposition of a complex adaptive system into IPW and ICW has many advantages: lowering overall software complexity, simplifying system verification, and supporting easier evolution of system features. The paper illuminates our concept of IPW with a software engineering-oriented case study of applications.
