The paper aims to bring together researchers and domain experts involved in developing and utilizing methods for knowledge extraction from massive amounts of data from moving objects. Technologies for object tracking are low cost and increasingly reliable in terms of coverage and accuracy; hence movement records are nowadays generated in huge volumes on a routine basis, using diverse technologies such as radio frequency mapping, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, video sequences and Doppler radar. The computational analysis of movement data has seen a successful first decade with progress made in capturing, preprocessing, storing, indexing and querying movement data, combined with promising results in visualizing movement and detecting movement patterns. In many application fields, such as animal monitoring, transportation, or epidemiology, the need for analyzing large sets of trajectories is evident and crucial; however, only very rudimentary automated analysis tools are available and more advanced analyses are carried out manually. Thus the analysis part has been neglected and in comparison with the image processing part it is technologically far behind in the development. A reason for this is a lack of theoretical and practical solutions for many crucial fundamental problems.

Due to the business potential of the pay-peruse model, as well as the advantages of easy scalability, up-to-date Video on Demand (VoD) streaming services rely on cloud infrastructures to offer a wide variety of multimedia content. The next generation of industrial advancement which is referred as Industry 4.0 aims to inter-connect and computerize the traditional industrys such as manufacturing. The objective in Industry 4.0 is to make the factories smart enough in terms of improved adaptability, resource efficiency as well as the improved integration of supply and demand processes between the factories. Wireless communication will play a key role in enabling the Industry 4.0 systems and technologies. In this paper we focus the discussion on some of the key wireless communication challenges that will need to be met for the Industry 4.0 era. We look at how the 5 th generation of communication standard may address these requirements. For machine to machine communication the three main design criterions that can be considered are latency, longevity and the reliability of communication. We take an example of WiFi communication, and benchmark it against the requirements, so as to emphasize the improvements required in wireless protocols.

This paper reports on the text analysis (visually and computationally) carried out on the lyrics of the rock musician Tom Waits. The analysis mainly focuses on the generally agreed transition period of the musician with his album Swordfishtrombones which started a new phase in Waits' 40 year career. A total of ten supervised learners are tested with the aim to separate the high dimensional space of the word vector (based on his lyrics)into two phases. After initial tests particular focus is given to the Maximum Entropy classifier by further working with some additional pre-processing techniques. The classifier is able to shed some further light into the two classes by being able to separate the two classes with an accuracy of 95%.

The vast volume of complex, multidimensional data generated by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Ananya program to improve maternal, child, and integrated health in Bihar, India, compelled the program to develop a strong visual analytics system. This was necessary to synthesize information and enable Ananya's managers to visualize and interpret data to make effective and informed decisions. The visual analytics system embraces three applications -- a GIS, a data visualization tool, and a program dashboard -- that collectively depict program indicators, providing managers with current assessments of program progress and performance. While distinct in their roles and objectives, the applications are complementary in nature. The applications are in various stages of prototype development and upon deployment will become connected to the system through Ananya's GIS application. This is a unique strategy for the sustainability of the system. In addition to its novel sustainability plans, the system offers a one-of-its-kind application of geo-information technology to improve maternal and child health in Bihar and unique visualizations of program data to support decision making.

Most blind people require assistance to navigate within unfamiliar environments as there is often insufficient information about the buildings available to them. To address aspects of this problem, this paper describes the “AccessBIM” model as an approach to facility management in which a digital representation of the indoor building features is used to facilitate the exchange and interoperability of real-time information in digital format which can assist blind people to independently access unfamiliar building indoor environments. The model driven architecture that can be implemented for way finding and data synchronization, generating, in real-time topological map, to assist vision impaired individuals to navigate known and unknown indoor environment.

The paper discusses an online platform called Act Together and Connect for patient-centered outcome research or ACTONNECT in short. ACTONNECT is based on the grounded theory of action-based matchmaking and engagement. Meaning, if there are established actions from both partners, the matchmaking process is more likely to be successful. Based on previous research, there are three levels of engagements in the matchmaking process: 1) The initial willingness from both parties, one who is looking to be connected with the other to develop rigorous research studies, 2) The two groups are engaged by actions, physically sharing in the activities of creating research studies, protocol and publishing's, and 3) The Engaged partnership, which is literally the 1 +1 > 2 partnership. Based on this concept, ACTONNECT allows the matchmaking at the highest level by allowing patients and researchers who share a common ground. ACTONNECT views as a common platform for both patients and researchers. With the action-based matchmaking, the partnership between patients and researchers can be more sustainable.

A class of information systems composed of backbone networks and access networks is very popular. According tothe complexity and organization forms of the class of information systems, twoevolution formation mechanisms of the systems are constructed based on complex network theory. One of the mechanisms uses pre-planning and random access strategies, and the other uses pre-planning and preferential access strategies. Different planning schemes and access ways are modeled. Furthermore, an example of information systems is introduced, and the network construction laws of information systems are verified and analyzed by numerical simulation.
