In this paper we described an algorithm called Neg Detector for locating concerned clinical terms mentioned in electronic narrative text clinical documents and detecting whether the particular terms appeared in different positions are negated or affirmed. The algorithm infers the status of a condition with regard tothe property from simple lexical clues occurring in the context of condition, maybe more than a few words away from the term. Considering the diverse types of negative structures, this paper selects typical, common and recognizable usage patterns of negatives as criteria of judgment. The judging results during one complete process are driven by many different types of symbols, and the response toa particular symbol depends on the sequence of previous judging results. In this situation, the finite-state automata is useful toaddress lots of symbols that trigger one another. When evaluating Neg Detector with testing case history, we measured a recall of 0.9985, a precision of 0.9498 and a fallout of 0.5147.

Wind energy - generated from wind power - is plentiful, renewable, clean and available in many places in the world. This energy is generated by wind turbines, in which the wind captured by propellers is connected to a turbine that drives an electrical generator. The use of this source to generate electricity on a commercial scale began in the 1970s, when the international oil crisis escalated. The U.S. and some European countries became interested in the development of alternatives for the production of electricity sources, seeking to reduce dependence on oil and coal. The use of wind power to generate electricity has some drawbacks, however, such as uncertainties in generation and some difficulty in planning and operation of the power system. Several models for wind power forecasting using artificial neural networks have been presented with promising results. This paper presents the use of an ensemble approach to improve the results obtained by models using artificial neural networks, specifically reservoir computing. Reservoir computing is a new paradigm that offers an intuitive methodology for using the temporal processing power of RNNs without the inconvenience of training them. The main issue of using ensemble approach is the consideration of accuracy and diversity of individual predictors which constitute an ensemble.

An improved ORB(Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF) algorithm motivated by SIFT(Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) is put forward aimed at solving the deficiency that ORB has little scale invariance for feature points matching. Firstly, the scale spaces were built for the detection of stable extreme points, and the stable extreme points detected were considered tobe feature points with scale invariance. Secondly, ORB descriptor was used todescribe the feature points, which would finally form the binary descriptors with scale and rotation invariance. Finally, point matching was conducted according toHamming distance. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves good matching performance in terms with scale invariance taking intoconsideration. When images have scale changes, feature points matching accuracy rate of the improved algorithm can reach with about 92.53%, which improves the matching accuracy rate by about 68.27% compared toORB. In addition, the matching speed of the improved algorithm, which inherits the fast superiority of ORB, is about 65.28 times faster than SIFT averagely.

We present a random fuzzy tactical planning model for the production and distribution of agricultural products because of the uncertainties encountered in the whole process. In the proposed model, the crops' yields are uncertain and assumed tobe characterized by random fuzzy variables with known probability and possibility distributions. The model approach selected is a two-stage hybrid uncertain programming in which the decisions in a first stage are designed tomeet the uncertain outcomes in a second stage. Since itis always difficult tohandle with the random fuzzy model directly, we apply an approximation approach(AA)toevaluate the value of the objective function and discuss the convergence the AA. Considering that the approximating model is neither linear nor convex, it cann't be solved via the conventional optimization algorithm. Therefore, an approximate-based hybrid particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm is designed tosolve the proposed model. Finally, an application example is presented tohighlight the significance of the random fuzzy production and distribution model as well as the effectiveness of the solution method.

Reducing the information transmission delay in the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks(VANETs) can improve the timeliness of receiving information and avoid the happening of the accident. As a potential solution, cooperative transmission,which may effectively reduce the transmission delay by exploiting spatial diversity, has attracted lots of attentions recently. In this paper, we modeled the information transmission delay minimization of the VANETs in which cooperative transmission is allowed, and proposed a gradient projection algorithm based on the model. The RSU can schedule the vehicle transmission behavior according tothe algorithm, soas tosolve the problem of the information transmission delay minimization in the VANETs where multipath routings(MRTDM) are ***, our simulation results show that the algorithm not only has good convergence, but alsocan solve the MRTDM in VANETs.

An improved semi-fragile algorithm incorporated the generalized Benford’s law in the wavelet-based contourlet transform（WBCT） is proposed in the paper. In the past research the majority of algorithms frequently used a pre-determined threshold totolerate the errors caused by some non-malicious manipulations. In contrast tothe conventional methods, we use the adaptive thresholds instead of a fixed one for improving the accuracy of the tampering region detection. The adaptive process is based on the relationship between the compression ratio（CR）of JPEG2000 and threshold. Using the generalized Benford’s law,once the CR is determined, the threshold can be adapted. The tampering detection rate is used toevaluate the performance of our scheme. Simulation results showed that our improved method can localize the malicious tampered region with more high accuracy.

Recent developments in lifecycle management of product information concentrate on abstraction in order to support multidisciplinary design. New generation of intelligent engineering systems brings representation for conceptual stage of product definition into product model. The Laboratory of Intelligent Engineering Systems (LIES) at the Óbuda University was founded among others for research in this direction in 2005. Recently, LIES proceeds research in behavior definition for function (F) and logical (L) levels of RFLP structure based professional product lifecycle management (PLM) model. In this scenario, behavior assisted F and L level product definition collects information from the requirements (R) level and drives generation of physical (P) level model elements. In this paper, a new method is introduced for the Systems Engineering (SE), System of Systems Engineering (SoSE), and intelligent computing supported definition of elements in the new requirement, behavior, context, and drive (RBCD) structure. The RBCD structure is a recent result at the LIES and it is devoted as a contribution to RFLP structure element generation methodology.

We have proposed a novel solution to a fundamental problem encountered in implementing non-ingestion based medical adherence monitoring systems, namely, how to reliably identify pill medication intake. We show how wireless wearable devices with tri-axial accelerometer can be used to detect and classify hand gestures of users during solid-phase medication intake. Two devices were worn on the wrists of each user. Users were asked to perform two activities in the way that is natural and most comfortable to them: (1) taking empty gelatin capsules with water, and (2) drinking water and wiping mouth. 25 users participated in this study. The signals obtained from the devices were filtered and the patterns were identified using dynamic time warping algorithm. Using hand gesture signals, we achieved 84.17 percent true positive rate and 13.33 percent false alarm rate, thus demonstrating that the hand gestures could be used to effectively identify pill taking activity.

The graphics processing unit (GPU) has evolved into a key part of today's heterogeneous parallel computing architecture. A number of influential data mining algorithms have been parallelized on GPUs including frequent pattern mining algorithms, such as Apriori. Unfortunately, due to two major challenges, the more effective method for mining frequent patterns without candidate generation named FP-Growth has not been implemented on GPUs. Firstly, it is very hard to efficiently build the FP-Tree in parallel on GPUs as it is an inherently sequential process. Secondly, mining the FP-Tree in parallel is also a difficult task. In this paper, we propose a fully parallel method to build the FP-Tree on CUDA-enabled GPUs and implement a novel parallel algorithm for mining all frequent patterns using the latest CUDA Dynamic Parallelism techniques. We show that, on a range of representative benchmark datasets, the proposed GPU-based FP-Growth algorithm can achieve significant speedups compared to the original algorithm.
