Feature extraction is an important step towards pattern *** Discriminant Projection (UDP) shows desirable performance for face recognition,but it is unsupervised and the features extracted are correlated;besides it is a linear method in *** solve these problems,a new feature extraction method called kernel uncorrelated supervised discriminant projection(KUSDP) is *** the proposed algorithm,the data in the original space are first mapped into one high dimensional space by kernel trick,then one supervised discriminant method is performed in this high dimensional space, meanwhile an uncorrelated constraint is *** a result,the proposed algorithm can handle the nonlinearity,and the locality of the intra-classs can be preserved and the separability of interclass is enlarged,also the uncorrelated vectors reduce the redundancy to its minimum,so it has more discriminative power. Experiments on face recognition demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The component-based business architecture integration of Command, Control, Communications, Computers,Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance(C4ISR) systems is a popular research topic in the field of military operational research. Currently, the prevalent methodologies for business component integration tend to focus on software-level business component, and ignore enterprise concerns in business architecture, such as organizations and resources. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to enterprise-level business component integration. First, we discuss the conception of enterprise-level business component and its relationships with DoDAF ***, a four-step process is proposed for integrating business components, mainly by modeling enterprise-level business component based on IDEF0 and integrating IDEF0 models automatically based on Petri net. After that, a case study is carried out to illustrate our approach.

The state-of-the-art algorithms of fingerprint segmentation,usually based on square block,are too dependent on the images of high quality and regular shape,so they have many deficiencies in dealing with low quality or irregular fingerprint images,such as high complexity,time-consuming and unsatisfactory segmentation results,*** order to adapt to different quality images,the proposed algorithm follows the natural characteristics of human fingers and implements an adaptive segmentation based on rectangle ***,the images are divided into non-overlapping rectangular blocks with rows and columns of the ratio of 4:***,the algorithm, according to the statistical analysis,will determine whether each block is the prospect or not and end with the removal of isolated blocks by a smoothing *** results show that the proposed algorithm has the advantages of time-saving and self-adaptability in dealing with different quality and shape of fingerprint images in comparison with the baseline.

In this paper, we propose an improved Elman neural network model which contains a new feedback mechanism composed of a special external feedback we proposed and inherent internal feedback. In order to guarantee the generalization ability of the established model, we adopt Genetic Algorithm to optimize initial connection weights and number of hidden layer nodes at the same time. This kind of improved Elman neural network model is applicable for time series prediction and we verify our model on the hourly air quality dataset. Comparing with two different neural network models, we reach the conclusion that the improved Elman neural network performs better than BPNN and traditional Elman neural network in terms of accuracy and convergence speed in experiment. And the improved Elman neural network shows a better stability in different time periods in the prediction process.

The deployment of the large-scale video analysis center that provides comprehensive video applications is the developing trend of video surveillance systems. It integrates intelligent video information analysis, the mass video image content retrieval, and the associated data mining of structural video data. In this paper, we present the hierarchical architecture of the video analysis center by discussing key design issues of the data storage layer, the video analysis layer, the application layer and the task scheduling system. The design of task scheduling mechanisms in the video analysis center is the key issue that affects the system performance, which needs the consideration on both the partition of server resource pool and the capacity constrained assignment of video streams. The effective operation of the video analysis center can be guaranteed through the adaptive task planning and the cooperation among different layers of the system.

This paper presents an offline text-independent writer identification system in a multi-language environment using sparse auto-encoder(SAE) based codebook(SAEC) and non-text-segmentation feature extraction methods. The proposed codebook is designed by SAE structure and clustering. The superior of the designed frame work is that features can be effectively extracted and without the pre-step of text segmentation. The novel codebook can deal with mixed-languages at the same time. Hand-written texts in Chinese and English are considered in this study. We use both HIT Chinese database and IAM offline English database. The classification rate achieves the challenging accuracy of 95.56% concerning top 1 and 99.17% concerning top 10 on the two mixed databases. Another interesting aspect of our study is the evaluation of the factors such as patch sizes, patch numbers and the amount of text that influence the identification results.
