The proposed 6-Hop P2P(6-Hop) is an improved overlay network topology thatintends toenhance the current P2 P that houses a file sharing and media broadcasting(FSMB) application. A P2 P system provides a serverless platform for the current FSMB application. It allows media files in each peer tobe located by other peers in the network using any word in the file name. The current FSMB application is a closed system where only registered peers can join the overlay network. However, the current broadcasting system has shown some aspects of inefficiency. Twoprinciple weaknesses identified are as follow:query messages flood the overlay network which taking up the bandwidth of the network;and, the search service is not reliable. When a new peer joins the P2P-based FSMB system, registered peers will randomly join clusters in the network. When a peer queries a specific or part of a file name, the current P2 P examine all the peers and all the files in each peer. This has resulted in low recall rate and heavy query messages in the overlay network. The proposed 6-Hop P2 P is an overlay network that adopts smallworld characteristics attempting toimprove the recall rate and toreduce the amount of query messages. The proposed P2 P is designed using the "similarity interest" value toreduce unnecessary routing and tocut down the number of hops required by the search. It alsorewires peers base on recall-rate learning algorithm toform clusters relying on the 'interest' bit value of QRP table. This paper presents the proposed 6-Hop model and the work-in-progress results with a short discussion on its prototype.

Automatic computation of surface correspondence via harmonic map is an active research field in computer vision, computer graphics and computational geometry. It may help document and understand physical and biological phenomena and also has broad applications in biometrics, medical imaging and motion capture. Although numerous studies have been devoted to harmonic map research, limited progress has been made to compute a diffeomorphic harmonic map on general topology surfaces with landmark constraints. This work conquer this problem by changing the Riemannian metric on the target surface to a hyperbolic metric, so that the harmonic mapping is guaranteed to be a diffeomorphism under landmark constraints. The computational algorithms are based on the Ricci flow method and the method is general and robust. We apply our algorithm to study constrained human brain surface registration problem. Experimental results demonstrate that, by changing the Riemannian metric, the registrations are always diffeomorphic, and achieve relative high performance when evaluated with some popular cortical surface registration evaluation standards.

The ultimate goal of the study is to develop an early warning system for the south and southeast regions of Armenia (11 in total) by defining specific thresholds for issuing alerts for adverse and severe weather phenomena. In the article the high temperature, wind and precipitation weather elements are discussed based on the experiments performed during the summer periods of 2011 and 2014. The system has been implemented based on the mesoscale Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model [1], which is adapted to the territory of Armenia and used for operational weather forecasting. The verification methodology is to analyze the model results against observations received from four ground hydrometeorological stations located in the south and southeast regions of Armenia. The correlation coefficients, standard deviations of the differences and biases are calculated for the air temperature and wind speed and for precipitation amount and yes/no contingency tables are constructed.

Application of mobile and cyber-physical systems play an important role in cognitive infocommunications, especially in the Socio-Cognitive ICT area, because they are able to facilitate the requested information to users quickly. The Android platform is a good foundation for such systems since it runs on a wide variety of devices and provides some advanced mechanisms for integrating loosely coupled components. These capabilities facilitate efficient component-based development. However, these mechanisms also introduce some difficulties into the development process. On one hand, some functionalities are not encapsulated into a single piece of code but have to be implemented and configured at several distinct source files. On the other hand, it is easy to break the consistency among these artefacts. In this paper, we report on our work in progress tool, which addresses these issues by modeling commonly used functionalities in Android applications and generating a skeleton for the implementation. We also report on the design of this tool. The tool and the experiences of its development will be useful for software developers that aspire to create code generators and cognitive infocommunications related mobile applications based on the Android platform.

Many sophisticated Information Systems (IS) focusing on management and supervision problems in the transportation arena exist in the contemporary world. Road traffic management systems, rail traffic management systems and many more are here to face everyday challenges. However, in spite of a huge progress in this area, systems that combine multiple transport modes for management purposes are a very few. This article proposes a solution for the monitoring of the operational state of multimodal transportation systems in a single dashboard. The experimental solution is applied to the transport network of the city of Porto, Portugal, as a case study. The problem includes such major components as (1) input information and its sources, (2) model (metrics, calculation algorithms) and (3) visualization metaphors. A proposed solution is a dashboard that provides a comprehensive view on the operational state, or Level of Service (LOS), of transportation systems of different types. Such a system is expected to become an essential tool for transport system monitoring and management, supplying the necessary information for strategic and emergency planning to the authorities and other decision makers in the sector.

Urbanization over the next decade will present many complex challenges to cities. Transportation plays an important role in a city’s ability to address urbanization and create resilient, sustainable, inclusive, and safer cities for all. However, challenges introduced by urbanization will decrease the effectiveness of current transportation methodologies. By utilizing innovations in sensing, computing, and communication along with machine learning and real-time data, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) can advance transportation efficiency and effectiveness. Integrating these technologies into intelligent transportation systems can potentially reduce congestion, pollution, energy consumption, and traffic incidents. This integration is at the forefront of academic and industry research. Although testbeds have been developed for the development, testing, and validation of ITS solutions, existing testbeds focus on narrow aspects of the ITS domain and are unable to support large-scale experimentation and integrations. Additionally, access to resources and data is limited and not remotely accessible to potential researchers. In this paper, we propose a smart city and ITS Testbed-As-A-Service. The testbed is located in downtown Chattanooga, TN, and offers a unified platform for a wide range of ITS applications including connected and autonomous vehicles, wireless communication, cooperative transportation, internet-of-things (IoT), and edge-based AI.

The digital divide between urban and rural areas is now attracting active research. There are a host of reasons for this divide and this paper presents the work in progress about one proposed solution to a major technical problem causing this. It has been noted that the high frequency WiFi and similar signals are not well suited for the wilderness type of environment with dense foliage. Additionally, such terrains also impose stringent restriction on computational and electric power as well as in cost. This calls forth the need for a new type of signal that can work efficiently in such environments and a low cost, low bandwidth, low frequency signal that can possibly work is identified in the form of Sound. This paper presents a new network architecture that is designed to work with the low frequency, ubiquitous signals such as sound. The architecture can work in peer-to-peer ad-hoc networks mode, infrastructure mode, broadcast mode (for remote telemetry) etc. using wideband multi-channel transmission. However, since the proposed architecture uses low frequency signal, it is expected to deliver low throughput as well. Using an ubiquitous signal such as sound makes the entire process very cost effective as it eliminates the need of expensive transceivers.

Network coding is a potential method that numerous investigators have move forwarded due to its significant advantages to enhance the proficiency of data communication. In this work, utilize simulations to assess the execution of various network topologies employing network coding. By contrasting the results of network and without network coding, it insists that network coding can improve the throughput, end-to-end delays, Packet Delivery Rate(PDR) and consistency. This paper presents the comparative performance analysis of network coding such as, XOR, LNC, and RLNC. The results demonstrates the XOR technique has attractive outcomes and can improve the real time performance metrics i.e.;throughput, end-to-end delay and PDR by substantial limitations. The analysis has been carried out based on packet size and also number of packets to be transmitted. Results illustrates that the network coding facilitate in dependence between networks.
