Cloud computing is one of the leading technologies. As a solution to many of the challenges faced by Cloud providers, virtualization is employed in Cloud. Virtual machine migration is a tool to utilize virtualization well. This paper gives an overview of the different works in literature that consider virtual machine migration. The different works related to virtual migration are classified into different categories. Some of the works that consider less explored areas of virtual machine migration are discussed in detail.

A 3D face shape derived from 2D images may be useful in many applications, such as face recognition, face synthesis and human computer *** do this,we develop a fast 3D Active Appearance Model(3D-AAM) method using depth *** training images include specific 3D face poses which are extremely different from one *** landmark's depth information of landmarks is estimated from the training image sequence by using the approximated Jacobian *** is added at the test phase to deal with the 3D pose variations of the input *** experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently fit the face shape, including the variations of facial expressions and 3D pose variations, better than the typical AAM,and can estimate accurate 3D face shape from images.
As we all know, human vision is quite sensitive to abnormal behaviors, which is attributed to the discharging of the receptor cells in the brain visual cortex and the ensuing bioelectrical energy features. Inspired by...

This paper presents a new perception-based computing approach in a wall-following algorithm. The proposed perception-based computing uses a rough-fuzzy theory, which is an extension of the conventional fuzzy-based control approach. In practice, an indoor robot follows a wall in a compacted and complex environment with limited acquired data. Furthermore, visual sensor measurements may contain errors in a number of situations. In order to improve uncertainty reasoning results, it is necessary to perceive the encountered environment and filter the measured data. Therefore, a rough set theory is integrated to extract essential features of data to regulate inputs before applying fuzzy inference rules. The proposed control algorithm demonstrates excellent results through simulation and implementation.

Computation of maximal exact matches (MEMs) is an important problem in comparing genomic sequences. Optimal sequential algorithms for computing MEMs have been already introduced and integrated in a number of software tools. To cope with large data and exploit new computing paradigms like cloud computing, it is important to develop efficient and ready-to-use solutions running on distributed parallel architecture. In a previous work, we have introduced a distributed algorithm running on a computer cluster for computing the MEMs. In this paper, we extend this work in two directions: First, we introduce new variants of this algorithm;one of them has a better time complexity than the published one. These variants as we will demonstrate by experiments are faster in practice. Second, we introduce a cloud based implementation, where we automate the process of creating and configuring the cluster, submitting the jobs, and finally collecting the results and terminating the cloud machines.

Today many applications are developed using distributed technologies such as cluster, cloud and grid computing. These applications demand more resources for computation and storage. They demand flexible scaling and improved performance. Application now days can make use of multiple nodes (machines) to get the tasks completed. In this paper we discuss the, implementation details of a grid computing framework known as GridSys. This framework provides a fast and easy way to program a grid. It can easily help the application break the problem to compute intensive tasks. The framework distributes these tasks to different nodes of the grid efficiently and easily aggregate the results of these tasks provide fault tolerance and reliability.
