As most clouds are based on virtualization technology, more and more virtual machine images are created within data centers. Depending on the need of disaster recovery, the storage space used for backup would easily sprawl to a TB or PB level with the growth of images. Unfortunately, different images have a large amount of same data segments. Those duplicated data segments will lead to serious waste of storage resource. Although there is a lot of work focus on deduplication storage and could achieve a good result in removing duplicate copies, they are not very suitable for virtual machine image deduplication in a cloud environment. Because huge resource usage of deduplication operations could lead to serious performance interference to the hosting virtual machines. This paper propose a local deduplication method which can speed up the operation progress of virtual machine image deduplication and reduce the operation time. The method is based on an improved k-means clustering algorithm, which could classify the metadata of backup image to reduce the search space of index lookup and improve the index lookup performance. Experiments show that our approach is robust and effective. It can significantly reduce the performance interference to hosting virtual machine with an acceptable increase in disk space usage.

Finding relevant information in a vast and growing amount of data has become significant since the arrival of the internet. An Information Retrieval System is described as searching and retrieving a list of documents, such as web pages or other items, in response to a user query. There are many weighting schemes, such as Boolean, Term Frequency or TF, and Term-Frequency-Inverse-Document-Frequency or TFIDF. In Boolean, a ‘1’ indicates the presence of a term in the document, whereas a ‘0’ indicates its absence. In TF, the term is represented by the number of occurrences in a document. TFIDF is the most popular one. It combines TF with an inverse document frequency IDF; IDF gives less weight to terms that frequently occur in many documents. With reference to the information retrieval system literature, TFIDF gives more accurate results on the computationally expensive expenses. Term Frequency is less expensive than TFIDF, and the least expensive one is the Boolean weighting scheme. In this paper, we investigated the effect of different weighting schemes and found out that, in many cases, Boolean and TF performed the same as TFIDF and, in a few cases, outperformed them. The experiments in this paper were conducted on many datasets of variant sizes and types. The dataset documents were indexed using TFIDF, TF, and Boolean. Then, using the queries that come with the dataset, we computed the precision and recall by comparing the results of different weighting schemes; the queries were also indexed using TFIDF, TF, and Boolean weighting schemes. The objective is to show that the use of the Boolean or TF weighting scheme, which is considered not computationally expensive, instead of TFIDF, which is regarded as very computationally expensive, does not significantly affect the results and, in a few cases, gives better results.

Many patients use the Internet to find information that can improve their health conditions. In this context, Health Social Networks are acquiring greater force in people's lives by offering them opportunities for social networking to expose questions, experiences, besides new treatments and seek to form relationships giving or receiving emotional support. We developed a Healthcare Social Network called "Minha Saude", a virtual environment that facilitates contact between patients with cardiovascular problems with the goal to promote actions related to social inclusion of people involved. Through a called "Care Plan" available in the Social Network, we tried to motivate patients to get more interest in their own care. Daily activities, emotional states, symptoms and situations will be provided by the patient in the system through any device with internet connection. This information will be used to visualize the progress of patient's health and can be used to make medical decisions as needed. Also, we distinguish an important fact related to the Care Plan, which is the inter-relationship between patients with similar characteristics, we found it important to this action that patients can feed back their experiences and this fact can serve as motivation for them to adhere more their treatments. For this, we developed an algorithm following a Content-plus-link approach for friendship recommendation between those patients who share similar interests and thus increase the level of collaboration and communication between them. This recommendation is based on data from clinical profile, health status, interests and possible previously existing connections. The results are promising about to use of the Care Plan module and the recommendations that were accepted by the participants to create friendship.

Psychiatric brain imaging studies in the last three decades have been heavily relying on image registration and group comparison. While registration appears to perform a perfect job in building voxel-wise correspondence across subjects, a foundation of group comparison, a fundamental yet often ignored, if not forgotten, issue in brain imaging analysis is that everyone of us has a unique brain, both structurally and functionally. Moreover, diagnosis of psychotic disorders, mostly based on phenomenology, is still in its cradle stage and may lead to significant heterogeneity within the ‘well-controlled’ patient group. Possibly due to the above two sources of variability, findings of traditional psychiatric studies are prone to inconsistency and thus have lower generalization ability across datasets and ***, emerging efforts have been put to build better correspondence across subjects for comparison and to perform stratified analysis via unsupervised machine learning *** this talk, I will talk about limitations of traditional group comparison studies based on registration, the emerging trend of individualized and stratified brain imaging analysis, and new techniques that tackle and/or study individual variability. Finally, I will discuss how individualized/stratified brain imaging will facilitate discovery and generalization of biomarkers in psychiatric disorders in the era of big data and precision medicine.

As a software project ages, its source code is modified to add new features, restructure existing ones, and fix defects. These source code changes often induce changes in the build system, i.e., the system that specifies how source code is translated into deliverables. However, since developers are often not familiar with the complex and occasionally archaic technologies used to specify build systems, they may not be able to identify when their source code changes require accompanying build system changes. This can cause build breakages that slow development progress and impact other developers, testers, or even users. In this paper, we mine the source and test code changes that required accompanying build changes in order to better understand this co-change relationship. We build random forest classifiers using language-agnostic and language-specific code change characteristics to explain when code-accompanying build changes are necessary based on historical trends. Case studies of the Mozilla C++ system, the Lucene and Eclipse open source Java systems, and the IBM Jazz proprietary Java system indicate that our classifiers can accurately explain when build co-changes are necessary with an AUC of 0.60-0.88. Unsurprisingly, our highly accurate C++ classifiers (AUC of 0.88) derive much of their explanatory power from indicators of structural change (e.g., was a new source file added?). On the other hand, our Java classifiers are less accurate (AUC of 0.60-0.78) because roughly 75% of Java build co-changes do not coincide with changes to the structure of a system, but rather are instigated by concerns related to release engineering, quality assurance, and general build maintenance.

Prolonged and frequent exposure to elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) significantly increases the likelihood of developing chronic complications, such as neuropathy, nephropathy, and cardiovascular disease, along with acute symptoms like fatigue and blurry vision. While current technologies, such as continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) and continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), can forecast adverse events like hypoglycemia and deliver small insulin doses to counteract hyperglycemia, progress in developing tailored AI-driven interventions remains limited, which poses a barrier to optimal diabetes care. To address this gap, we propose leveraging counterfactual explanations that guide patients in making targeted adjustments to their carbohydrate intake and insulin dosing to avoid abnormal glucose levels. We introduce GlyMan 4 , a novel method that generates counterfactual behavioral recommendations aimed at helping patients and caregivers make small, informed changes to prevent hyperglycemia, thus substantially reducing both its frequency and duration. Additionally, GlyMan incorporates user preferences into its intervention process and ensures more customized and patient-centered guidance. We rigorously evaluated GlyMan using real-world data from 21 type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients using automated insulin delivery (AID) systems. Results indicate that GlyMan surpasses existing methods, delivering 76.6% valid explanations and 86% effectiveness when assessed against historical data.

In recent years, Question Answering System has become a main focus of human machine interaction. Using the question answering system for information retrieval is convenient and efficient. Traditional question answering systems mostly use template matching. The question and answer data sets usually rely on manual design. The question and answer system implemented by this method has a quick query response and can answer relatively complex questions. But manually defining templates and rules is time-consuming and laborious. Therefore, this paper introduces the knowledge graph in the process of constructing the question answering system. The proposed method combines knowledge graph with question answering systems to realize an intelligent question answering system in the field of ethnic minorities, so as to spread ethnic minority knowledge and promote ethnic minority culture. The construction of a question answering system is mainly divided into two modules: question analysis and answer generation. The question analysis module includes named entity recognition, similarity calculation and question classification. The answer generation module includes entity mapping and graph retrieval. The experimental results show that our approach by combined with natural language processing technology and domain knowledge graph can well accurately feedback the answers to user queries. And the answer accuracy of the question answering system can reach about 81%.

With the rapiddevelopment of power grid, prediction ofelectric quantity changes has become increasingly important. High-performance power grid systems can improve economic effectiveness and operational efficiency through accurate prediction. This paper proposes a prediction model based on temperature, humidity,time, and the number of people. On account of the standards of support vector machine(SVM) and the HBase platform,we have implemented a forecasting model and designed simulative experiments. The experimental results show that time and variation in the number of people has a remarkable influence on prediction, while temperature and humidityhardly have any effects.

Classified protection compliance detection is one of the important methods in information system safety *** order to solve the uncertainty in compliance detection process,this paper proposes a method of the analysis of classified protection detection based on Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence for rank 4 information ***,the method establishes a scientific and reasonable index system of classified protection compliance detection for target ***,combine all the detection items' results of every level in index system with improved Dempster's rule of Combination so that we can obtain the final compliance detection result value with the combination level by ***,verify the feasibility of the method with an example of information *** using Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence can reduce the uncertainty in compliance detection and resolve the conflict between the various detection results.

We have been conducting research and development on a new system called TV for you(TV4U),for production,distribution and viewing of video content on the *** TV4U,ordinary users with no special skills are able to produce and publish video content based on realtime 3D computer graphics(CG),and these can be viewed easily by ***4U makes use of a mechanism we have devised,called Automatic Production Engine(APE),which involve templates for automatically generating production direction for video *** introduction of APE, produced video content can be created easily,even by ordinary users with no special skills,by writing a simple description of a *** far,APE have only been capable of generating productions within the range of predefined templates already in the system,limiting the video content that can be *** such,we have devised a mechanism able to generate production direction according to the current conditions in the video content. Introducing this mechanism into APE has made it more sophisticated,and has allowed APE to generate sophisticated production direction for video content that was not possible with previous versions of APE.
