This work shows a detailed description of the kNN method when using it for breast cancer diagnosis. We show the relation of the number of neighbors to the accuracy and also the change of accuracy with the change of the percentage of the data used for diagnosis. We also show details about the variation of the maximum and minimum values of the accuracy with the percentage of data used for diagnosis and with the number of neighbors.

Nth -Dimensional Truncated Polynomial Ring (NTRU) is a lattice-based public-key cryptosystem that offers encryption and digital signature solutions. It was designed by Silverman, Hoffstein and Pipher. The NTRU cryptosystem was patented by NTRU Cryptosystems Inc. (which was later acquired by Security Innovations) and available as ieee 1363.1 and X9.98 standards. NTRU is resistant to attacks based on Quantum computing, to which the standard RSA and ECC public-key cryptosystems are vulnerable to. In addition, NTRU has higher performance advantages over these cryptosystems. Considering this importance of NTRU, it is highly recommended to adopt NTRU as part of a cipher suite along with widely used cryptosystems for internet security protocols and applications. In this paper, we present our analytical study on the implementation of NTRU encryption scheme which serves as a guideline for security practitioners who are novice to lattice-based cryptography or even cryptography. In particular, we show some non-trivial issues that should be considered towards a secure and efficient NTRU implementation. © 2014 ieee.

This paper shows the potentials of Network Coding (NC) for improvement of Round Trip Time (RTT) in practical wireless Narrowband RF communications (for remote monitoring of broadcasting Television and radio FM station). We illustrate how RTT changes versus number of hops using narrow band radios modem & Routers ((RipEX unit), as a means of transmission between source and destination. As well as, we will illustrate the effect of Forward Error Correction (FEC) on the RTT. The measurements and simulations results show that the applying of NC significantly improves RTT. © 2014 ieee.

Optimizing sophisticated PDE-based filtering methods, such as the Anisotropic Nonlinear Diffusion (AND), to GPUs is complicated and time consuming. In this work, we expressed AND as iterative multiple 3D-stencils, where each 3D-stencil is implemented into one kernel, and then we analyzed all possible kernel fusions on the GPU. We experimentally found that fusing dependent stencils with similar concurrency and lower on-chip pressure makes the optimal combination run 1, 52× faster than the next better one. © 2014 ieee.

In this paper, we propose multi-objective differential evolution (DE) based feature selection and ensemble learning techniques for biomedical entity extraction. The algorithm operates in two layers, first step of which concerns with the problem of automatic feature selection for a machine learning algorithm, namely Conditional Random Field (CRF). The solutions of the final best population provides different feature combinations. The classifiers generated with these feature representations are combined together using a multi-objective differential based ensemble technique. We evaluate the proposed algorithm for named entity (NE) extraction in biomedical text. Experiments on the benchmark setup yield recall, precision and F-measure values of 73.50%, 77.02% and 75.22%, respectively.

In cellular network location management is a fundamental and complex problem which deals how to track the subscriber on move. Some amount of cost is incurred for the subscriber during the movement in a particular service area. This cost basically involved location update cost and paging cost. The main objective of this work is to reduce this total cost which includes this location update cost and paging cost by using different evolutionary techniques. This paper presents binary genetic algorithm to solve the location management problem by partitioning the given cellular network into location areas so as to minimize the location management cost. Binary Genetic Algorithm (BGA) is a meta-heuristic method which has presented to be a very powerful widely used, prominent and a population-based optimization approach. Among the entire evolutionary techniques Genetic algorithm is a biological, simple inspired optimization with reduced complexity. With the help of this algorithm optimal location areas are obtained corresponding to the minimized cost. Simulation results and optimal location area planning for different networks are demonstrated and discussed. The effectiveness of GA result is shown to be effective using less number of iteration.

Companies today interact in an increasingly competitive environment and seek to leverage the potentials of IT for generating new business models and for changing existing ones. For these business models, companies have to align the respective business and IT architectures. This task can be supported by using enterprise architecture management. In this paper, we first analyze the potentials for integrating enterprise architecture (management) and business model (management). Second, the components of different approaches for describing business models are compared to each other. Third, we present a concept for integrating business models into enterprise architectures. Fourth, we outline an integration of business model management and enterprise architecture management processes. © 2014 ieee.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) Climate and Environmental Sciences Division (CESD) produces a diversity of data, information, software, and model codes across its research and informatics programs and facilities. This information includes raw and reduced observational and instrumentation data, model codes, model-generated results, and integrated data products. Currently, most of these data and information are prepared and shared for program specific activities, corresponding to CESD organization research. A major challenge facing BER CESD is how best to inventory, integrate, and deliver these vast and diverse resources for the purpose of accelerating Earth system science research. This paper provides a concept for a CESD Integrated Data Ecosystem and an initial roadmap for its implementation to address this integration challenge in the "Big Data" domain.

Cloud computing is a revolutionary movement in the area of IT industry that provides storage, computing power, network and software as an abstraction and as a service, on demand over the internet, which enables its clients to access these services remotely from anywhere, anytime via any terminal equipment. Since cloud has modified the definition of data storage from personal computers to the huge data centers, security of data has become one of the major concerns for the developers of cloud. In this paper a security model is proposed, implemented in Cloud Analyst to tighten the level of cloud storage security, which provides security based on different encryption algorithms with integrity verification scheme. We begin with the storage section selection phase divided into three different sections Private, Public, and Hybrid. Various encryption techniques are implemented in all three sections based on the security factors namely authentication, confidentiality, security, privacy, non-repudiation and integrity. Unique token generation mechanism implemented in Private section helps ensure the authenticity of the user, Hybrid section provides On Demand Two Tier security architecture and Public section provides faster computation of data encryption and decryption. Overall data is wrapped in two folds of encryption and integrity verification in all the three sections. The user wants to access data, required to enter the user login and password before granting permission to the encrypted data stored either in Private, Public, or Hybrid section, thereby making it difficult for the hacker to gain access of the authorized environment.
