This tutorial presents concepts and basics of distributed computing which are important (at least from the author's point of view!), and should be known and mastered by Master students, researchers, and engineers. Those include: (a) a characterization of distributed computing (which is too much often confused with parallel computing);(b) the notion of a synchronous system and its associated notions of a local algorithm and message adversaries;(c) the notion of an asynchronous shared memory system and its associated notions of universality and progress conditions;and (d) the notion of an asynchronous messagepassing system with its associated broadcast and agreement abstractions, its impossibility results, and approaches to circumvent them. Hence, the tutorial can be seen as a guided tour to key elements that constitute basics of distributed computing.

To address these kind of problems, the system of recognition using androgenic hair pattern is being developed. The system of recognition presented in this paper used three main parts of methods, pre-processing methods, feature extraction with Haar Wavelet Transform level 1 decomposition and classification using Nearest Neighbor. Using 400 images of lower right legs with controlled condition, the system was analyzed. The Haar Wavelet Transformation for level 1 decomposition gave 83.48 % of average recognition precision when using 10-fold cross validation with nearest neighbor classification.

In this works, radix-4 booth multiplier and radix-2 booth multiplier algorithms are analyzed based on its area used and speed performance. The less area used means the multiplier is more efficient in usage area, the smaller the delay means that the speed of the multiplier is higher. Additional benefit offered by cloud technology is by providing an access to the shared network in some computing resource that has been configured. The purpose of this research are to select the most suitable cloud deployment type by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and the specified criteria by using BCOR (Benefit, Cost, Opportunity, Risk) Analysis. We conducted interviews, questionnaires, and also literature studies to collect the data. The result of this research indicates the most suitable cloud deployment model for Ministry of Foreign Affairs is private cloud model.

Blood flow in pulsating atherosclerotic blood vessel is simulated numerically using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method. In this paper, we are concerned with its implementation in Matlab. We run the simulation with 7600 fluid particles and 1602 boundary particles. We improve the boundary model of arterial wall deformation together with the inlet and outlet boundary conditions to form a two-dimensional model of a stenosed pulsating artery. We also create a non-penetrating condition at the arterial wall while maintaining a stable flow in the interior. We present the performance evaluation of the simulation and some finding of enhancement in numerical calculation.
