In the development of wildlife surveillance system technology, images are important input data that allow real situations in the field to be viewed and analysed. This project proposed a compressed and wireless image transmission system for current system improvements. image compression is intended to ensure that the proposed system is efficient in terms of processing, transmission and storage. The compressed images are transmitted wirelessly to provide real-time data to authorities. In this study, LabVIEW 2017 software and NI myRIO (as image transmitter) and computer (as image receiver) hardware were used for the architectural design of compression systems by using discrete cosine transform (DCT) method and wireless transmission using Wi-Fi. The implementation of DCT on a field programmable gate array (FPGA) platform, allowing the image to be compressed by 44% and minimise time consumption for transmission process, whilst the value of peak to signal noise ratio (PSNR) are considered good, between 27dB to 40dB.

MIPI Alliance has developed C-PHY specification which with a higher rate and application level than the past version, such as the current market Camera CMOS image sensors, Display Driver ICs, Application processor for Mobile devices; all need to use this protocol in the future. MIPI C-PHY has a high potential in signal transmission applications. It utilizes three lines of two highly coupled to achieve the same anti-noise capability as traditional differential signals, and uses back-end processing to significantly increase signal transmission rate to 2.28 times the D-PHY. C-PHY must be designed to strict conditions : 3-wire, any two to 100 ohms; each line of 50 ohm, so the layout will be a big challenge, how to design PCB stack up and arrange trace layout is testing layout team and PCB manufacturers design capacity. This paper explores how to develop a C-PHY layout rule and implement it on a PCB board, followed by simulation software to compare the bandwidth and eye diagrams of various layout ways to find the most appropriate design approach. Theoretically: the perfect C-PHY is equidistant to each other, and each 50 ohms, two for the 100 ohm height coupling, so keep the traditional differential pair anti-noise ability. In fact: it is difficult to equidistant with each other and precise control of the impedance, and the upper and lower layers of the amount of noise received is different, so the ability to resist noise slightly worse than the traditional differential pair, but the difference is not too large. In order to achieve the three-wire coupling structure on the PCB board, it is important to ensure that the PCB manufacturer can make it. To achieve a highly coupled triangular C-PHY structure, how to choose between process feasibility and signal integrity is the focus of this article.

Compressive image recovery is a challenging problem that requires fast and accurate algorithms. Recently, neural networks have been applied to this problem with promising results. By exploiting massively parallel GPU processing architectures and oodles of training data, they can run orders of magnitude faster than existing techniques. However, these methods are largely unprincipled black boxes that are difficult to train and often-times specific to a single measurement *** was recently demonstrated that iterative sparse-signal-recovery algorithms can be "unrolled" to form interpretable deep networks. Taking inspiration from this work, we develop a novel neural network architecture that mimics the behavior of the denoising-based approximate message passing (D-AMP) algorithm. We call this new network Learned D-AMP (LDAMP).The LDAMP network is easy to train, can be applied to a variety of different measurement matrices, and comes with a state-evolution heuristic that accurately predicts its performance. Most importantly, it outperforms the state-of-the-art BM3D-AMP and NLR-CS algorithms in terms of both accuracy and run time. At high resolutions, and when used with sensing matrices that have fast implementations, LDAMP runs over 50 x faster than BM3D-AMP and hundreds of times faster than NLR-CS.

Accurate and reliable measurement of rotational speed is desirable in many industrial processes. A novel method for rotational speed measurement using a low-cost camera and image processing techniques is presented in this paper. Firstly, sequential images are continuously processed using a similarity evaluation method to obtain the periodic similarity level of captured images. Subsequently, the rotational speed is determined from the periodicity of a restructured signal through Chirp-Z transform and parabolic interpolation based auto-correlation, respectively. The measurement principle and system design are presented. The advantages of the proposed measurement system include non-contact measurement, low cost, no markers required and high accuracy. Experimental investigations into the effects of the periodicity detection algorithm, frame rate and image resolution on the accuracy and reliability of the measurement system are conducted on a purpose-built test rig. Experimental results demonstrate that the system with the frame rate of 100 fps yields a measurement error within +/- 0.6% over a speed range from 100 to 3000 RPM (Revolutions Per Minute). More accurate and reliable speed measurements over a wider speed range are achievable with higher frame rates.

Ring oscillator physical unclonable function (RO PUF) and multiplexer physical unclonable function (MUX PUF) are the two mostly used structures that make use of gate delay, but their reliability is not satisfactory enough. In this paper, a new structure, duty cycle multiplexer physical unclonable function (DC MUX PUF) is proposed to improve the reliability. A feed-back structure is added to original MUX PUF and decision method is also changed by measuring duty cycle. Then a simplified model is built to calculate the reliability of DC MUX PUF, a primary Monte Carlo simulation with this model is accomplished. The reliability of DC MUX PUF and the original MUX PUF are compared, and it is suggested that DC MUX PUF performs better than original MUX PUF considering noise variation. Then temperature variation is considered, and simulated by HSPICE. It is suggested that reliability of them are both above 95% when temperature varies. Uniqueness and randomness are all more than 90%. Then the complexity of two kinds of PUF are also taken into consideration. When challenge length becomes long, complexity of this design is relatively lower than original MUX PUF.

Corona discharges occur in high voltage electrical equipment in case of defects and damage, while ultraviolet(UV) light generated during discharge. High resolution imaging in the solar-blind UV bands has a lot of applications in corona discharge detection. A ultraviolet imager based on 320x256 solar-blind AlGaN focal plane arrays (FPA) was designed that work even in the sunlight, because the Cut-off wavelength of the AlGaN FPA is 280nm. The UV image signal processing system based on FPGA is composed of various function modules include the voltage bias, sequence drive, A/D data acquisition, non-uniformity correction, video transformation. Due to FPGA-based data acquisition and real-time image processing technology, the UV imager can operate at a rate up to 100 frame/s. The results show that the simulation high voltage ultraviolet image can be obtained by the UV imager. The image non-uniformity correction performed is one-points correction method to realize background subtraction. And the images show good uniformity and contrast. The UV image of the alcohol burner flame can be detected by the Ultraviolet imager. Imaging quality was discussed which can be determined by signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the integration time, the optics f/number and so on. The best imaging conditions were analyzed and the imaging system was designed and setup. The conclusion is proved that the ultraviolet imager based on solar-blind AlGaN FPA provides a new method for corona discharge detection of high voltage power transmission and distribution system.

Multi-modal Named Entity Recognition (MNER) leverages visual information to enhance the effectiveness of text-only Named Entity Recognition (NER). Currently, many methods are based on sequence label, but the model architecture is relatively complex. Large Language Model (LLM) has recently demonstrated powerful generative and comprehension abilities, so we propose GMNER-LF, a new paradigm for MNER with generative method. Firstly, we retrieve relevant image-text pairs to provide prior knowledge for the recognition. Secondly, we construct our task into a MRC task so that the LLM can better understand the problem. In addition, we design a multi-modal fusion module and add a gating mechanism to help filter noise information in the image to obtain high-quality fusion representations. The multi-modal fusion module is injected into the LLM block to achieve deep fusion of LLM and multi-modal representations and fully explore the internal knowledge of LLM. The proposed method not only fully explores the internal knowledge of LLM, but also filters important modal information through the gating mechanism. Experimental results show that compared with other generative methods, the proposed method has improved performance on both Twitter-2015 and Twitter-2017 datasets.

The detection of persons from videos is particularly important in many computer vision contexts being an enabling technology for several relevant applications either for security and safety or for business intelligence purposes. The adoption of a depth sensor mounted in a top-view position is often used to achieve high person detection accuracy as it allows to cope effectively with occlusions and difficult lighting conditions. In this paper, we propose a new method for people detection from depth maps produced by sensors mounted in a zenithal position. The method is designed with the aim of providing an optimal trade off between the detection accuracy and the computational complexity. The proposed approach adopts a dynamic background modeling strategy in order to find the objects of interest into the scene; then a lightweight algorithm is used to filter out the noise from the foreground image and to determine the position of the persons into the scene. The experimental analysis carried out on a public and large dataset allowed to demonstrate that the method is fast and accurate. The method has been compared with respect to two different approaches available in the literature for people detection from a depth camera mounted in a zenithal position: an unsupervised method that is fast although not highly accurate, and a supervised one that conversely is very accurate but less computationally efficient. The proposed method allows to achieve comparable accuracy of the supervised approach using very few computational resources, with a reduction of an order of magnitude of the processing times.

Accurate capture and efficient control of neurological disorders such as epileptic seizures that often originate in multiple regions of the brain, requires neural interface microsystems with an ever-increasing need for higher channel counts. Addressing this demand within the limited energy and area of brain-implantable medical devices necessitates a search for new circuit architectures. In the conventional designs [1-5], the channel area is dominated by the bulky coupling capacitors and/or capacitor banks of the in-channel ADC, both unavoidable due to the channel architecture, and unscalable with CMOS technology. Additionally, channel power consumption, typically dominated by the LNA, cannot be reduced lower than a certain limit without sacrificing gain and/or noise performance. In this paper, we present a 64-channel wireless closed-loop neurostimulator with a compact and energy-efficient channel architecture that performs both amplification and digitization in a single ΔΣ-based neural ADC, while removing rail-to-rail input DC offset using a digital feedback loop. The channel area and power consumption depend only on the active components and switching frequency, respectively, making the design both technology- and frequency-scalable.
