Frequency invariant beamformers (FIBs) are widely used in speech enhancement and source localization. There are two traditional optimization methods for FIB design. The first one is convex optimization, which is simple but the frequency invariant characteristic of the beam pattern is poor with respect to frequency band of five octaves. The least squares (LS) approach using spatial response variation (SRV) constraint is another optimization method. Although, it can provide good frequency invariant property, it usually couldn't be used in speech enhancement for its lack of weight norm constraint which is related to the robustness of a beamformer. In this paper, a robust wideband beamforming method with a constant beamwidth is proposed. The frequency invariant beam pattern is achieved by resolving an optimization problem of the SRV constraint to cover speech frequency band. With the control of sidelobe level, it is available for the frequency invariant beamformer (FIB) to prevent distortion of interference from the undesirable direction. The approach is completed in time-domain by placing tapped delay lines(TDL) and finite impulse response (FIR) filter at the output of each sensor which is more convenient than the Frost processor. By invoking the weight norm constraint, the robustness of the beamformer is further improved against random errors. Experiment results show that the proposed method has a constant beamwidth and almost the same white noise gain as traditional delay-and-sum (DAS) beamformer.

This paper explores a simple yet novel method for detection of three kinds of arrhythmias from Electrocardiography (ECG) signal taken from Lead II. There are mainly three stages to the process: ECG signal processing, ECG features extraction and actual detection of the arrhythmia. The processing of ECG unfolds in three levels of filtering followed by averaging. Important ECG features such as RR interval, heart rate, regularity of P and R waves, QRS duration and PR interval were extracted from the processed ECG signal. By a combination of these features and thresholding, the three arrhythmias: Premature ventricular contraction, Sinus bradycardia and Sinus tachycardia were detected. The novelty of the paper lies in the reduced computational overheads.

Remote sensing is basically the method of detection of the physical parameters of a specific area along with that it also monitors the area by measuring the radiation parameters from satellite. The cameras are designed to gather remotely sensed images, which are used to sense things of the earth's surface. Like the cameras on the satellites and the airplanes takes pictures of the different area, allowing us to get every minute detail about it. Now, change detection is the process to identify the changes or differences in various parts of land characteristics at different intervals. This process can be carried by manual observation or by the use of remote sensing software. Because of the rapid urbanization there has been a significant impact on resources and urban environment. But with the use of high quality multi-spatial and multi-temporal remote sensing data, it is quite easy to possibly observe the changes in the urban environment. Therefore, the given study aims to quantify changes in the urban area of Symbiosis University Nagpur, Maharashtra India using Land satellite image. These changes of urbanization are detected by satellite images of Land-Sat MSS in march-2016, march-2018 and may-2020 using a geographic information system (GIS). The change of urbanization in Symbiosis University is for building, road, garden and ground are 17.35%, 20.71%, 1.65% and 0.89% respectively and the total change is 43.51%. From this change we will receive the taxes as per its ongoing construction and it will be easy for government.

Direction finding for electronic warfare application should provide a wider field of view as possible. But the maximum unambiguous field of view for conventional direction finding methods is a hemisphere. It cannot distinguish the direction of arrival of the signals from the back lobe of the array. In this paper, a full 3-D direction finding method based on aperture synthesis radiometry is proposed. The model of the direction finding system is illustrated, and the fundamentals are presented. The relationship between the outputs of the measurements of a 3-D array and the 3-D power distribution of the point sources can be represented by a 3-D Fourier transform, and then the 3-D power distribution of the point sources can be reconstructed by an inverse 3-D Fourier transform. And in order to display the 3-D power distribution of the point sources conveniently, the whole spherical distribution is represented by two 2-D circular distribution images, one of which is for the upper hemisphere, and the other is for the lower hemisphere. Then a numeric simulation is designed and conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the method. The results show that the method can estimate the arbitrary direction of arrival of the signals in the 3-D space correctly.

In order to satisfy the varied 5G critical requirements and the virtualization of the RAN hardware, a two-level architecture for 5G RAN has been studied in 3GPP 5G SI stage. The performance of the PDCP-RLC split option and intra-RLC split option, two mainly concerned options for high layer functional split, exist an ongoing debate. This paper firstly gives an overview of CU-DU split study work in 3GPP. By the comparison of implementation complexity, the standardization impact and system performance, our evaluation result shows the PDCP-RLC split Option outperforms the intra-RLC split option. Aiming to how to reduce the retransmission delay during the intra-CU inter-DU handover, the mainly drawback of PDCP-RLC split option, this paper proposes an improved fast centralized retransmission solution with a low implementation complexity. Finally, system level simulations show that the PDCP-RLC split option with the proposed scheme can significantly improve the UE's experience.

The paper presents new multimedia guide primarily created for Master distance curriculum at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic, to ease the work on analog communication training setup in the laboratory of communication and signal processing. PROMAX company manufactured the analog communication training setup in Spain, and the devices of the setup are described in the original documentation in English and Spanish together with the printed version of the labs that could be performed on this setup, also in English and Spanish. Since the students of the given distance curriculum should focus on the practical exercises of the communication, the necessity of creating such teaching aid appeared. The paper describes the communication setup and the created labs that could be performed on it. the created teaching aid and the way how it was created. Finally. there is the students' evaluation of the teaching aid in the form of the questionnaire.

The demand for the improvement of digital signal processing is highly increasing in present days. For this, more technological developments are required in computer and microprocessor applications for meeting high speed and power efficiency. Multiplier plays a crucial role in signal processing that will decide overall device speed, area, and power consumption. In order to accomplish better performance, multiplexer based 8∗8-bit booth multiplier is designed and coding is done in Verilog. Simulation and synthesis are carried on Vivado 2017.2 software. The proposed design reduces the area, power, and delay when compared to the existing multipliers. © 2018 IEEE.

Hyperspectral image data and LIDAR data have found to be complimentary modailities in case of remotely sensed images, which can be fused if both are geo-referenced. Hyperspectral images provide the spectral response of each object in the area and can be used to identify the material composition of the image which can be used for the object classification. LIDAR data provides the elevation and geometrical information of the objects in the scene. Pixel-level fusion ensures no loss of information because there is no dimensionality reduction. This paper assesses the different methods of pixel fusion like wavelet transform, IHS transform and linear pixel fusion. © 2018 IEEE.

UWB is a radio technology which makes use of very low energy, very short pulses, good immunity against multi path interference and large bandwidth which supports exceptionally fine time resolution. Finite time resolution gives assistance to accurate positioning. This work concentrates on developing signal processing algorithm for UWB radar. Field programming gate array (FPGA) is utilized for this purpose which supports faster and parallel processing of the signal. Multi-channel ADC and delay method is used for achieving high resolution. Time delay algorithm is designed for limiting high speed ADC. UWB radar is low complexity technology allows the fine measurement of the target range. © 2018 IEEE.
