In order to improve the simulation of the undersea conditions, an improved artificial fish swarm algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm uses unity3d to simulate the behavior of fish swarm in four aspects, seek food, avoid obstacles, keep good formation, and various behaviors. The experiment results show that the improved simulation effect is better than the traditional fish swarm algorithm on unity platform.

Electrocoagulation is successfully used for purifying various industrial wastewaters. In order to improve the quality of wastewater treatment and to reduce economic costs for achieving the specified pollution indicators, an automation system for controlling the wastewater treatment by an electrocoagulation method has been developed. A phenomenological mathematical model of the electrocoagulation process has been adapted for the investigation of the effect of current supply on the quality of wastewater treatment. The estimation of the dynamic characteristics of the electrocoagulation processes and the investigation of the influence of current supply on the concentration of the inlet pollution is made by means of simulation modeling. Based on experimental data a method of determination of regulator adjustment has been developed. A simulation model of the electrocoagulation process taking into account geometrical dimensions of the reactor, volume flow rate of the liquid and the applied current supply has been elaborated. An automation system for controlling concentration of nickel ions with an algorithm of operation for minimum power expenses has been proposed. The automation provides real-time control of the system based on SCADA-system WinCC Flexible. The automation control system with P-regulator can conserve up to 21.4% of power expenses. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Studying the impact of climate change on wintertime polar stratosphere is of particular relevance not only for climate knowledge but also for tropospheric projections. Machine learning provides a way to extract information from different climate models and combine the data in a such way that patterns are clearer, so predictions can be inducted. The methods used in this study have been region growing algorithm, K-means and combination of predictions. The final results show three clusters of response trends for the intensity and location of the stratospheric polar night jet. The prediction shows an increase in zonal wind intensity over the 2xCO2 and 4xCO2 concentration points and a decrease in the related latitude. Our methods can be extended for more climate models and simulation periods, and will allow not only to map the behavior of the polar night jet, but other stratospheric and tropospheric features and interactions between them. ©2020 Society for modeling & simulation international (SCS)

In view of the complex characteristics of nonlinear and multi operating conditions in the boiler combustion process of power station, a NOx prediction method of boiler combustion process based on MiniBatchKMeans clustering and Stacking model fusion is proposed. This method optimizes the clustering and division of training sets by applying MiniBatchKMeans clustering algorithm, and establishes the stacking fusion framework prediction model (Stacking-XRLL) based on the XGBoost, Random Forest, LightGBM and the Linear Regression, so as to realize the accurate prediction of NOx emissions under the variable operating conditions of power plant boilers. Taking the NOx emission data of a power plant boiler in Guangdong as an example, the modeling simulation and experiment results shows that compared with the single modeling methods such as the BP, the LSTM and the GRU neural network, the Stacking-XRLL modeling method has higher generalization ability and prediction accuracy, and the average accuracy reaches 99%. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In terms of fatalities caused by Traffic Accidents (TAs), Saudi Arabia occupies a top position in the world. Notably, the most affected age group is young people (i.e. age 18 -25 years). In this study, we addressed the major causes of TAs in the Aseer Region, which is the southern Saudi area. To accurately perform the correct simulation, we used two different datasets. The first one was called ataset1 (DS1), which was extracted from 116 volunteer young participants in the region, each of whom reported a full TA they had survived or witnessed. The second dataset (DS2) was generated using a powerful simulation and modeling algorithm. DS1 was used as input for performing the simulation. For accurate statistical computing TA simulation and modeling purposes, the MATLAB 2018 computing environment was the best candidate to validate our postulates. More than 14 different TA factors were examined to prove the extent of devastation caused by TAs. The contributions of several TA metrics were calculated, and smartphone use while driving and speeding were found to be the primary factors that contributed to TAs. The number of death(s) registered from the public hospital(s) in the region was greater than 22%, which is extraordinary, making this the highest traffic risk in the area. Comparing this study findings with those of previous related ones, the study offers promising results that could be utilized to secure the local community from the current and frequent TA threats. One of the main recommendations in this study, is to incorporate the driving behavior of young people in the primary educational systems. © 2021 IEEE.

Cuckoo search (CS) is an evolutionary algorithm based on Levy flight distribution (LFD). The exploration and exploitation of CS are largely dependent on a probabilistic parameter Pa, the value of which ranges between 0 and 1. A lesser Pa value promises higher exploration, while a higher value leads to higher exploitation. The original CS algorithm has a Pa value fixed to 0.25. A controlled varying Pa suggests a richer exploration-exploitation balance. In this article, we have presented a version of the algorithm with a dynamic Pa value guided by real-time population diversity and have cited the results pertaining to improved efficiency and accuracy when tested upon fifteen CEC-15 benchmark functions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
