Evolutionary programming algorithm is applied to the problem of image clustering. The solution of the problem is encoded by the symbol coding, and swarm intelligent model is used to search the solution of the problem. In evolutionary programming algorithm, the global search ability is effectively improved by mutation operator and selection operator. The excellent diversity of solutions is guaranteed by using Gaussian mutation operator, and the complexity of the evolutionary operation is reduced. The simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm for image clustering is effective and correct.

We consider the problem of tensor factorization in the cases where one of the factors is constrained to have orthonormal columns. We adopt the alternating optimization framework and derive an efficient algorithm that is also suitable for parallel implementation. We describe in detail a distributed memory implementation of the algorithm on a three-dimensional processor grid. The speedup attained by a message-passing implementation of the algorithm is significant, indicating that it is a competitive candidate for the solution of very large tensor factorization problems with orthogonality constraints.

Emergent events and catastrophe accidents in large public places are increasing in recent years. In order to ensure successful escape from the accident places and provide a scientific and efficient plan for evacuees, an evacuation model based on artificial fish swarm algorithm(AFSA) for large public place is presented in this paper. In the model, each evacuee is considered as an intelligent artificial fish, and the foraging process of fish swarm is used to simulate evacuation behavior. Route choice strategy is proposed to simulate the psychological behaviors of evacuation individuals. Evacuation simulationalgorithm based on artificial fish swarm is proposed and applied to large stadium evacuation problem. The experimental and simulated results show that the presented model and algorithm can simulate the characteristics of the evacuation individuals, the evacuation rules and the uncertain factors in the evacuation process. The modelling approach has good effect in evacuation problem.

As it is known only instrumental monitoring system, based on results of mathematical and computer (numerical) modeling (for instance, based on finite element analysis) and comparison with corresponding measured data allows high-performance control of actual state and the prediction of building safe operation. Moreover, instrumental monitoring of unique buildings without corresponding correct and adequate so-called "monitoring-oriented" models has random nonsensical nature and therefore it is not of practical interest. This paper is devoted to theoretical methodology foundations of structural health monitoring (SHM). In order to review various corresponding approaches, development, modification and verification of parameterized finite building element models, so, significant stage of life cycle (the stages of construction and operation), original algorithm of adaptation (calibration) in accordance with measurements results, methodology of natural frequencies measurements and modal shapes and structural evaluation algorithm are under consideration for each approach. The main criterion for this adaptation is the correspondence of computed and measured spectrum of the natural frequencies and mode shapes in the entire frequency range, significant for the system-wide changes assessment and for possible defects localization.

This paper presents the functionality and quality of the implementation of a search- and target-surrounding swarm robotic algorithm, which was developed and tested in the simulator V-REP, on actually running Kilobots. Ten Kilobots were used for the experiment where one Kilobot acts as target and nine Kilobots act as searchers. The algorithm allows the searchers to disperse to find the target, to avoid collisions with other searchers, to orbit other searchers, which are closer to the target, and to finally surround the target, once it is found. The results of the implementation using actual, real swarm robots are compared with the results of the computersimulation. Differences between simulation and real robot implementation are discussed. In particular, issues associated with the limitation in the Kilobots' communication capability and their implications on the algorithm are investigated.

In energy compelled wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the means by which to perform effectual routing is among the main focuses. A noble approach of ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm for discovering the optimum route in the WSNs for data transmission is proposed here for enhancement and optimization considering the issue of path selection to reach the nodes. Using the proposed ACO algorithm and considering both the node mobility and the existing energy of the nodes, an optimum route and best cost from the originating node to the target node can be detected. The proposed algorithm has been simulated and verified utilizing MATLAB and the simulation results demonstrate that new ant colony optimization based algorithm can achieve better performance and faster convergence to determine the best cost route.
