Load forecasting, as the baseline for decision-making, plays a key role in the management and control of the grid. Nevertheless, the rapid evolution of the smart grid has brought a dramatic increase in the volume of user-side data, traditional load forecasting approaches have to face the challenge of ensuring the accuracy of dynamic forecasting under the circumstance of the widespread application of big data. Meanwhile, the advance of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables smart meters to acquire more plentiful data, which improves the accuracy of short-term load forecasting with appropriate utilization, but the gradual increase in the magnitude of data brought by IIoT technique has also left the computing equipment under great pressure. To address these challenges, in this paper, a Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM) network based short-term load forecasting approach deployed in the distributed cloud-edge environment, named Alice, is devised to deliver more precise results for the smart forecasting of power load. It adopts the LSTM network to perform the forecasting tasks and extends the whole system to the cloud-edge platform to implement parallel neural computing. Moreover, the Toeplitz Inverse Covariance-Based Clustering (TICC) algorithm is invited to enhance the efficiency of LSTM. Eventually, experimental evaluations on real dataset elaborate the superiority of the proposed Alice approach when compared to other state-of-the-art approaches. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper demonstrates the application of Harris hawks optimization (HHO) algorithm to tune a PID controller for speed regulation of a DC motor. The proposed technique was used to obtain optimal parameters of PID controller by minimizing the integral of time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) as the objective function. The speed step response characteristics of the proposed HHO/PID and other state-of-the-art controllers tuned by atom search optimization (ASO), grey wolf optimization (GWO) and sine-cosine algorithm (SCA) were compared using transient response and robustness analyses. The simulation results have shown that the proposed HHO/PID controller is more effective and robust than ASO/PID, GWO/PID and SCA/PID controllers for the speed control of a DC motor even under uncertainties. © 2020 IEEE.

The photovoltaic cells are deemed one of the most important modern sources of renewable energy due to its direct dependence on solar energy, its low maintenance, and environmental protection. These characteristics led many specialists to study and develop this type of renewable energy. This research paper includes simulations for the design of single-diodes solar cells under the influence of different temperatures and saturation conditions to demonstrate the efficacy of the solar cell. It is also known that the solar cell must be linked to a power controller and here it will be used as an artificial neural network (ANN) technology which is the nonlinear autoregressive moving average (NARMA) by using MATLAB program to control the output power of the PV cell. Hence, the simulation results will show the comparison with and without using the NARMA-L2 controller as a maximum power point tracking (MPPT). © 2020 IEEE.

Henry gas solubility optimization (HGSO) algorithm is proposed for terminal voltage control of a generator in an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system using a fractional order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) controller. The proposed technique was utilized for obtaining optimal parameters of FOPID by minimizing a time domain objective function. The box plot and convergence analyses were carried out in order to show the efficiency of the proposed approach. The performance of HGSO-based FOPID controller (HGSO-FOPID) compared with salp swarm algorithm based FOPID (SSA-FOPID) controller, stochastic fractal search algorithm based PID (SFS-PID) and improved kidney algorithm based PID (IKA-PID) controllers via transient and frequency response analyses. The simulation results have showed that the performance of the proposed HGSO-FOPID controller is better than SSA-FOPID, SFS-PID, and IKA-PID controllers. © 2020 IEEE.

Reasonable mining scheme is of great significance for safety and efficiency of mining activity and environmental protection. In view of the limitation that the traditional mine surveying and mapping method can't provide accurate terrain data for the mining scheme design, moreover, the common mining design software can't be combined with the 3D real scene mining situation for scheme analysis and evaluation, this paper proposed a design method based on 3D real scene model by combining the UAV Remote sensing technology and 3D geographic information technology. This method can make the mining design agree with the demand of mining efficiency and environmental protection, improving the rationality of mining design. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. This paper selects the open dataset of the auction, combines the factor analysis with XGBoost, analyzes the dimension of the pre-processed high-dimensional data with factor analysis, and then uses XGBoost to predict the investment level of P2P online loan investors, and analyzes and quantifies the willingness to invest. The relationship with specific influencing factors. The main factors affecting the willingness to contribute through the ranking of the characteristic factors of the factor analysis and the reduction of the common factors include: the borrowing rate and the initial rating, the real name certification on the borrower's mobile phone, and the repaid principal and interest paid. The model prediction results show that the XGBoost method combined with factor analysis predicts that the error rate of the investment level on the training set is train-merror: 0.03829, and the error rate on the test set is test-merror: 0.050386. Compared with the method using XGBoost alone, the prediction error rate based on factor analysis and XGBoost on the training set and the test set is reduced by 0.020706 and 0.0152, respectively, which significantly reduces the error rate;and shortens the operation time by 18 seconds. The conclusions obtained in this paper provide reference for the stable development of the P2P industry and the decision-making of investors. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A model of the application of the genetic algorithm (GA) for solving the problem of multicriteria optimization in the distribution of resources allocated for the cybersecurity of the protected object is proposed. In the presented model, in contrast to the existing solutions, the Bellman-Zade principle is involved, which makes it possible to optimize the distribution, for example, of the organizational and financial resources of the protected object. It is shown that the use of GAs in the tasks of multicriteria optimization of cybersecurity resources will make it possible, based on multivariate simulation modeling, to select the optimal variant of resource allocation, which is especially important when these resources are limited in volume, and the defense side does not have data on the attackers' resources. © 2020 IEEE.

Discrete-event simulation is an established method to support decision making for planning tasks in production and logistics. However, there are still many enterprises, especially smaller companies that do not use discrete-event simulation because of the high costs associated with buying and maintaining commercial simulation tools. The question is whether or not free discrete-event simulation software is an alternative to commercial tools for solving typical planning tasks in production and logistics. The paper analyzes the modeling process with the three free and open-source discrete-event simulation tools Salabim, JaamSim and CloudSim and compares them with the two standard commercial simulation packages Arena and Plant simulation. JaamSim provides everything which is necessary to model typical planning tasks in production and logistics and proves as a real alternative to commercial discrete-event simulation tools.
