Workpieces are the basic components of aerospace, shipbuilding, power supply, and other industries. The measurement of the geometric parameters of the workpiece is not only the basis for ensuring the manufacture of various products but also the premise of stable and safe production. With the rapid development of optoelectronic technology, automation, and digital technology, the improvement of efficiency and accuracy of workpiece parameter measurement has gradually become the main problem. In this paper, the geometric parameter measurement method of the workpiece based on 3d point cloud is proposed, and a measurement system framework that combines optical measurement and a high-precision mechanical platform is constructed to realize the construction of a 3d point cloud in the area of the processed workpiece. The wrong noise points are eliminated by clustering, and the key area model of the workpiece is fitted to realize the high-precision measurement of geometric parameters. Through the experimental verification, in the experimental environment of this paper, the measurement accuracy of the method in this paper can reach up to 0.2mm, which can meet the actual use conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

Existing three-dimensional scanning techniques enable the acquisition of dense point clouds representing the surface of the scanned object. However, the voluminous nature of unordered point cloud data leads to extended data processing times, necessitating the utilization of specific data structures for the management of large-scale point clouds. Addressing the performance degradation issue of prevalent point cloud data structures when dealing with a large quantity of points, this paper initiates a comparative analysis of common point cloud data structures, encompassing grid-based, quadtree, and k-d tree (k-dimensional tree) indexing methods. Through theoretical derivations, an examination of the time complexities of various data structures is undertaken. Building on this theoretical foundation, an empirical quantitative assessment of the real-world performance of distinct data structures is executed. Leveraging the insights gained from these analyses, this paper further capitalizes on the inherent shape characteristics of empirically acquired point cloud data to introduce a novel three-tier hybrid indexed point cloud data structure, accompanied by its corresponding algorithmic functionalities. This innovative structure amalgamates grid-based, quadtree, and k-d tree indexing strategies. Empirical findings demonstrate that, when applied to large-scale point clouds, the proposed three-tier hybrid indexed data structure exhibits enhanced indexing establishment speed and neighborhood search velocity compared to conventional algorithms. Thus, this work establishes a foundational data structure support for subsequent processing and application of large-scale point cloud data.

In this study, we investigated the influence of stereoscopic depth on visual fatigue based on subjective and EEG measurement. 19 channels of EEG data of 17 subjects before and after watching 3d movie with different depth ranges were recorded, and the power of δ, θ, α, β, power spectral parameters (gravity frequency, power spectral entropy) were calculated and analyzed. The results showed that visual fatigue caused by 3d enhanced movies with larger negative disparity was more significantly severe than that of 3d normal movies. © 2023, John Wiley and Sons Inc. For industrial CT, the existing 3d measurement method based on industrial CT sequence imaging needs to be improved in terms of accuracy, speed and the degree of automation. In this context, based on the existing imaging measurement theory and taking the industrial CT sequence imaging as the experimental object, two volume measurement methods have been proposed this paper based on the industrial CT sequence imaging. This method was applied to carry out equal spacing stratified CT scan on three typical shapes of standard steel workpiece and Actual workpiece with inner cavity, and the obtained sequence fault imaging was measured and analyzed and verified. The experimental results show that the two measurement methods proposed in this paper improve the accuracy of measurement by 2-3 orders of magnitude and the accuracy of measurement is better than 1% compared with the existing volume measurement algorithm, which can meet the high precision requirements of the engineering application. © 2023 SPIE.

To realize the skill migration and generalization of robotic arm in industrial production. We extracts 7 basic movement primitives from industrial tasks. Parameterize each primitive and build a library of movement primitives, and give the connection mode between primitives. Then, the robotic arm Behavior Tree (BT) is constructed according to the execution logic of the task. When faced with a new task, use dynamic Movement Prmitives (dmp) to generalize the movement primitives according to the target pose. When faced with an unknown environment, control the action by selecting a specific BT. Limited by the imaging dynamic range of the camera, the phenomenon of over-exposure and over-dark often occurs in the 3d measurement of strong reflective sheet metal parts, resulting in incomplete measurement result. One of existing methods such as multiple exposure can measure most of the visible area under a single viewpoint, but the visible area with too small or too large incidence angle still cannot be measured. To solve this problem, in this paper, a method of viewpoint planning for sheet metal parts with strong reflection is proposed. The method introduces the surface reflection model of reflective sheet metal parts into viewpoint planning to achieve the synchronous optimum of measurement efficiency and data integrity. Firstly, according to the measurable region of the surface structured light 3d measurement system and CAd model, the candidate viewpoint set is randomly generated in the sampling space, and the visibility matrix is constructed by analyzing whether each candidate viewpoint is visible to each patch of the model. Then, the surface reflection model of sheet metal parts with strong reflection is constructed, and the reflection coefficient of the visible patches under each viewpoint is calculated according to the reflection model. Based on this, the measurability of the visible patches of the viewpoint under multiple exposures is calculated, and the visibility matrix is updated. Lastly, through the viewpoint quality evaluation function constructed based on the data coverage increment and multiple-exposure time, the viewpoint with the highest quality is selected heuristically until the coverage requirement is met. Experiments show that the algorithm can improve the measurement efficiency and ensure the integrity of the measurement data. © 2022 SPIE.

Holes are common and important feature information in sheet metal parts, and play a decisive role in product production and assembly. The 3d contour reconstruction method based on passive binocular vision has been widely used in hole measurement due to its high accuracy and robustness. It can obtain dimensional data such as diameter and center of round holes, but there are still problems in measurement accuracy and integrity, and it is difficult to accurately measure special-shaped holes. Aiming at these issues, a fringe projection based 3d contour measurement method for holes on sheet metal parts is proposed. In this method, two constant movements are performed on the extracted contour curve to the surrounding area, and the 3d contour points can be reconstructed according to the phase matching. Therefore, the real 3d contour is reconstructed inversely according to the corresponding points of the previous two reconstructed contours. With this method, contours only need to be extracted on one image, so it can reduce the effect of inconsistency in contour extraction. In addition, the accuracy and integrity of the 3d contour can be guaranteed by using high-quality phase matching of the sheet metal area. The experimental results show that this method can achieve accurate and complete 3d contour reconstruction for sheet metal holes of various shapes, and the accuracy can reach 0.08mm. © 2022 SPIE.

Photon-counting devices are widely used as detectors for laboratory and astronomical research. Often, they come with software just to manage the basic read-out electronics (read-out speed, read-time, subframing.) and to produce movies of the captured events. These movies require further processing to generate the final images for scientific use. In this contribution, we describe the tool we have developed, and its functionalities, devoted to this end. The interface has been created in the frame of the characterization campaign of the MicroChannel Plate detector on board the Spektr-UF (WSO-UV) Space Telescope. This interface is provided with different features that enable the evaluation of the spatial and time-depending stability of the detectors to be analyzed, such as the splitting of the videos into the different frames that compose the measurement or the numerical addition of a series of frames to generate a time-integrated image. In addition, it is capable of extracting and classifying each of the local luminous events that reach the MCP in every single frame (or in a set of frames) by adjusting different parameters of the dAOFINd algorithm such as the threshold, the full-width half-maximum or the sigma radius. The interface creates a list of all identified events, specifying their position, size or intensity. From this data, a 3d-representation of the spatial distribution of the classified events can be generated as heat maps, as well as a representation of the number of events detected within a confined area of the detector to evaluate the stability of the response at any moment. This tool has been developed in Python and will be released as open software to the scientific community.

deriving the spatial features of user equipment (UE) and traffic distribution is crucial for optimizing real-world wireless network performance, such as load balancing and improving cell-edge user experience. In this paper, we creatively construct the beam-space grid with high-dimensional beam reference signal receiving power (RSRP), serving as spatial reference system for 5G mobile networks. However, this is a challenging task due to i) access to 3d UE geographic information is limited by privacy protection and device settings, ii) beam-RSRP with up to 75% loss in measurement reports (MRs), iii) large computation and storage requirements of grid information caused by the exploding grid number in high-dimensional beam-space. A novel approach is designed to tackle these challenges, that coherently integrate low-rank matrix completion and dimension reduction techniques. Using telco big data, specifically MRs from live networks, we recover the beam-RSRP with high-precision and construct the beam-space grid even without geographic information. This research ensures stable derivation of spatial distribution features in the beam-space grid while efficiently processing grid information.

This paper presents a novel method for accurately encoding 3d range geometry within the color channels of a 2d RGB image that allows the encoding frequency-and therefore the encoding precision-to be uniquely determined for each coordinate. The proposed method can thus be used to balance between encoding precision and file size by encoding geometry along a normal distribution;encoding more precisely where the density of data is high and less precisely where the density is low. Alternative distributions may be followed to produce encodings optimized for specific applications. In general, the nature of the proposed encoding method is such that the precision of each point can be freely controlled or derived from an arbitrary distribution, ideally enabling this method for use within a wide range of applications. © 2020, Society for Imaging Science and Technology.
