This paper presents a new algorithm to restore the sparse multispectral data acquired by single photon LidAR. Regarding to its sparsity, the robustness of depth estimation is improved by exploiting the correlations between wavelengths and multi-scale information. Furthermore, the non-local spatial correlations between pixels/patches are learned by the affinity graph and used as prior information to prompt the smoothness for both depth and reflectivity images. To reduce the computational cost, a non-uniform sampling algorithm and clustering strategy are adopted, where flexible sampling points were assigned to reduce the size of the graph while minimizing the loss in details and different spatial clusters can be processed in parallel. Finally, the restoration was achieved by optimizing a cost function which account for both multi-scale information and non-local spatial correlations. The cost function is efficiently solved by AdMM algorithm that present fast convergence. Results on simulated data showed the benefits of the proposed algorithm by comparing with state-of-the-art algorithms, and the fast computation justified the supreme performance.

Blawan-Ijen is a caldera hosted geothermal system that located in Bondowoso, East Java. To delineate the existence of the geothermal system of Blawan-Ijen, gravity and geomagnetic studies were conducted. Since no impressive manifestation in this area, to delineate the prospect area is very challenging. Both methods are used to detect the presence of basements and potential heat sources. Gravity data processing was processed to obtain CBA and residual gravity anomalies, while geomagnetic data was processed until reduce to pole. The results of data processing are used for 3d inversion of gravity and geomagnetic data to find out anomaly distribution horizontally and vertically. To understanding potential heat source, 3d inversion results are displayed at an elevation of 500 m to 1,000 m. The existence of resources using the geomagnetic method is represented by a low magnetic anomaly value as an indication of demagnetized rocks, but high gravity anomalies are seen in the demagnetization area. The potential heat source from gravity and geomagnetic interpretation located in the center of the Blawan-Ijen geothermal prospect, that is the northern part of the south mountainous area, those areas are located around Mt. Gendingwuluh and the northern part of Mt. Genteng and Mt. Glaman. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We address the problem of event classification for proactive fiber break detection in high-speed optical communication systems. The proposed approach is based on monitoring the State of Polarization (SOP) via digital signal processing in a coherent receiver. We describe in details the design of a classifier providing interpretable decision rules and enabling low-complexity real-time detection embedded in network elements. The proposed method operates on SOP time series, which define trajectories on the 3d sphere;SOP time series are low-pass filtered (to reduce measurement noise), pre-rotated (to provide invariance to the starting point of trajectories) and converted to quaternion domain. Then quaternion sequences are recoded to relational data for automatic variable construction and selection. We show that a naive Bayes classifier using a limited subset of variables can achieve an event classification accuracy of more than 99% for the tested conditions.

Recently, volumetric video based communications have gained a lot of attention, especially due to the emergence of devices that can capture scenes with 3d spatial information and display mixed reality environments. Nevertheless, capturing the world in 3d is not an easy task, with capture systems being usually composed by arrays of image sensors, which sometimes are paired with depth sensors. Unfortunately, these arrays are not easy to assembly and calibrate by non-specialists, making their use in volumetric video applications a challenge. Additionally, the cost of these systems is still high, which limits their popularity in mainstream communication applications. This work proposes a system that provides a way to reconstruct the head of a human speaker from single view frames captured using a single RGB-d camera (e.g. Microsoft's Kinect 2 device). The proposed system generates volumetric video frames with a minimum number of occluded and missing areas. To achieve a good quality, the system prioritizes the data corresponding to the participants' face, therefore preserving important information from speakers facial expressions. Our ultimate goal is to design an inexpensive system that can be used in volumetric video telepresence applications and even on volumetric video talk-shows broadcasting applications. © 2019, Society for Imaging Science and Technology

A method to measurement of optical axis eccentricity and fitting about the aspheric mirror with the high-precision three-coordinate measuring machine(CMM) is presented. By establishing 2d/3d measurement coordinate system, The axis of fitting of the cylinder is selected according to the machining and assembly reference of aspheric mirror, Generating a number of concentric circles automatic measurement strategies, And make the points on each equal circumference, The probe head of the CMM is sampled on the surface of the measured aspheric mirror according to the measured strategy path to obtain the point coordinates of the distance of the reference axis, the measured surface is fitted to obtain the eccentricity of the aspheric mirror optical axis. Hyperboloid concave mirror to make use of the proposed method in the practical testing, the results show the actual processing of eccentricity is 0.0190mm, the standard deviation of 3.6x10(-4) mm, to meet the requirements of the design of eccentricity is less than or equal to *** testing the high precision centering lathe cutting machine frame fixed axis aspheric reflector components, the data indicators meet the requirements of assembly process. The accuracy of this method is high, and the traditional measuring method is easy to be affected by the precision of the tooling and easy to scratch the mirror. With large work surface, large caliber, back light weight loss (special-shaped structure) of aspheric mirrors optical axis eccentricity detection, not only suitable for different aperture aspheric mirrors the processing quality of qualified determination, but also in the machining, high precision of aspheric mirrors system with adjustable guiding role and effectively promote R-C spherical reflector optical system assembly accuracy and efficiency.

Phase measuring deflectometry (PMd) is a well-established method for determining the topography of specular freeform surfaces. A disadvantage of the classical PMd method, however, is the sequential measurement process it requires at least six camera images of phase-shifted sinusoidal fringe patterns for one measurement. Therefore, for moving objects in industrial production, as well as for non-fixable objects such as the human cornea, the classical PMd evaluation is not suitable any more. To overcome this problem, single-shot methods using single-sideband demodulation have been presented, which allow for a deflectometric measurement based on just one single image capture. However, this kind of evaluation does not work for complex surface geometries that result in broadband fringe patterns, since the phase is only considered globally in the Fourier space. A new single-shot evaluation method for the phase determination using the Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is presented. The advantage of the wavelet transform is that the signal can be evaluated locally in both spatial and frequency space, making it possible to measure even complex reflective surfaces in motion. First measurement results are shown and compared to the classic phase-shifting evaluation for a non-moving object. Furthermore, limits and possible enhancements of this new method are discussed.

Inspection of underwater assets on oil and gas offshore platforms are required to assess asset integrity, and whether intervention is required. These assets include mooring chains, fairleads, anodes and ballast tanks. Typically, calipers are used for taking measurements of these objects. Limitations of this technique include inaccuracy, inefficiency and potential damage to the asset. Compact underwater camera systems, including imaging sensors and lighting, are proposed to solve limitations of caliper measurements. data processing creates scaled 3d models for measurement analysis and automatic fault detection. This paper presents Lantern Eye-S, a stereo-based visual measurement system developed by the authors. It is a stereo imaging system, which includes a stereo camera pair linked to a set of underwater strobes. It is extremely compact and can be deployed on very small ROVs, down to the 30kg class. Results are available as quickly as 5 minutes for in-situ analysis and assessment. Final results are available in 8 hours for detailed inspection. Calibration accounts for the water environment the images are taken, primarily to account for salinity in the water. measurements can be automatically extracted, and comparisons are made to as-built drawings. Validation of the measurement is also undertaken with a known ground truth object placed in the water, to ensure integrity in the measurement. Results include offshore integration and deployment on a mini-ROV (30kg class) and working class ROV (multiple tons). An important result from this work is that calipers were found to typically overestimate dimensions on mooring chain diameters. High accuracy measurements of small objects, with a compact camera system, was shown to be possible with the work in this paper. The use of a novel validation apparatus and uncertainty analysis allows appropriate levels of confidence to be attributed to the acquired analytics. © 2020, Society of Petroleum Engineers

In the paper, we detect 2d surfaces and recognize 3d structures in images, and generate occluded part of three-dimensional structure. We detect objects vanish points and geometric segmentation lines, and generate the vector and normal plane. We measure the objects boundaries which have been detected. In the process, we have found the best linear segmentation positions, generated buildings, and other 3d models in room. We propose some effective assumptions to recognize the object model from images by geometric reasoning. At the same time, we put forward structure prediction technology combined with the volume reasoning by parameter representation of spatial objects. We detect scene model relationships of each other by combining image-rich appearance with geometric features. We proposed image geometric modeling grammar framework according to previous discriminative classifier. It is used to represent the physical structure of the visual component. The framework has broken the traditional probability texture context grammar tree model. We proposed spatial context theory and model generation rules. Finally, on the public existing data sets, we proved that we only use structure prediction and linear segmentation of scene to recover 3d structure by a lot of experiments, comparing to restoration algorithm using whole image structure, ours method can produce more credible scene entity models and space constraint relationships.

Powered by the advances in microelectronics technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) provide a vast variety of services ranging from surveillance to delivery in both military and civilian domains. It is clear that a successful operation in those services relies heavily on wireless communication technologies. Even though wireless communication techniques could be considered to reach a certain level of maturity, wireless communication links including UAVs should be regarded in a different way due to the peculiar characteristics of UAVs such as agility in 3d spatial domain and versatility in modes of operation. Such mobility characteristics in a vast variety of environmental diversity render links including UAVs different from those in traditional, terrestrial mobility scenarios. Furthermore, UAVs are critical instruments for network operators in order to provide basic voice and short messaging services for narrow band communication in and around disaster areas. It is obvious that such widespread use of UAVs under different scenarios and environments requires a better understanding the behavior of the communication links that include UAVs. Therefore, in this study, details of a measurement campaign designed to collect data for large-scale propagation characterization of air-to-ground links operated by UAVs at 446MHz under narrowband assumption are given. data collection, post-processing, and measurement results are provided. © 2020 IEEE.

The paper proposes a method of building three-dimensional landscape entity model based on digital measurement. First, we use the relationship between the three-dimensional landscape images to build a rendezvous model, then get the coordinates of the landscape points systematically. Third, we calculate the translation and rotation relationship between the camera coordinate system and the world coordinate system and correct the distorted image points. Finally, we use the corrected three-dimensional coordinate points to realize the three-dimensional landscape entity model. The experimental results show that the proposed model has the characteristics of high accuracy and fast speed, which provides a feasible basis for the construction of digital. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
