With the development of economy, the power quality of distribution network in countryside cannot meet the needs of people's requirements. The traditional reactive power and voltage control method can not solve the problem of low voltage on the user side. The paper establishes the mathematical model of coordinated control of reactive power and voltage, then introduces the coordinated control process of reactive power and voltage. At last, combining with the project example, the effectiveness and practicability of coordinated control are verified. © 2020 IEEE.

Karuma hydropower station is the largest one in Uganda, the total capacity is 600MW, which is almost 1/2 of the nation total capacity. It plays an important role in the stable operation of the power grid. Automatic control system is the core of the hydropower station, it is directly related to the stability of the power station and the power grid. This article describes the design innovation of station automatic control system, computer supervision and control system structure and configuration, system main functions, and summed up the safe and redundant design key technologies. It will provide important reference for the design of automatic systems for hydropower stations in the 'Belt and Road countries'. © 2020 IEEE.

PWM rectifier has the advantages of high power factor and low harmonic pollution, and usually adopts double closed loop control method of voltage outer loop and current inner loop in synchronous coordinate system. Since it is difficult to reflect the nonlinear nature of the voltage equation by using only linear PI control, this paper introduces nonlinear fuzzy control, combines fuzzy control with PI control, and combines the advantages of both. Using the fast adjusting ability of fuzzy control and the steady-state precision of PI control, the fuzzy-PI control method is adopted. The fuzzy adaptive PI control is adopted to adjust the parameters online to overcome the shortage that the PI adjustment parameters are fixed and cannot be adjusted. Simulation results show that both fuzzy control methods improve the dynamic and static performance of the system. © 2020 IEEE.

Narrow band internet of things (NB-IoT), as an important low-power wide-area coverage of 5G with independent intellectual property rights, has great potential in small data monitoring of urban power transmission and distribution. However, it is extremely easy to cause congestion and overloading of the system upon large-scaled terminal requests for random access, which will decrease network access performance and bring great challenges to promote NB-IoT in urban power Internet of Things. On this basis, a mathematical model of network load was constructed to estimate and predict load changes. Then, a dynamic adjustment functional model was set up according to dynamic adjustment of access parameter optimization based on loads. Based on above idea, a random access algorithm based on dynamic parameter adjustment in accordance to dynamic priority was developed. It increases the success rate of devices access to NB-IoT system, decreases access delay of devices, and relieves network congestion. According to simulation results, the proposed algorithm has higher access success rate, lower total delay. And it guarantees delay for important node users and more optimized network performances compared with traditional network access algorithms. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We have proposed an analytic compact model describing the drain current characteristics valid in all operating regions, for ultra-short channel cylindrical gate-all-around metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors considering source-to-drain tunnelling effect. The drain-induced barrier lowering had been incorporated from one two-dimensional analysis in our previous compact model. In this study, to represent the energy level profile along the device channel direction into the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation by substituting a parabolic function, we can analytically derive the expressions of the transmission coefficients for source-to-drain tunneling. In the subthreshold region, the source-to-drain tunneling current then can be evaluated using the Landauer formula. Finally, a fully analytic compact model is proposed for representing the drain current in all operating regions. The results compared with non-equilibrium Green's function transport simulations can be obtained in a good agreement. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the recently developed document clustering, word embedding has the primary role in constructing semantics, considering and measuring the times a specific word appears in its context. Word2vect and Glove word embedding are the two most used word embeddings in document clustering. Previous works do not consider the use of glove word embedding with DBSCAN clustering algorithm in document clustering. In this work, a preprocessing with and without stemming of Wikipedia and IMDB datasets applied to glove word embedding algorithm, then word vectors as a result are applied to the DBSCAN clustering algorithm. For the evaluation of experiments, seven metrics have been used: Silhouette average, purity, accuracy, F1, completeness, homogeneity, and NMI score. The experimental results are compared with the results of TFIDF and K-means algorithms on six datasets. The results of this work outperform the results of the TFIDF and K-means approach using the four main evaluation metrics and CPU time consuming. © 2020 IEEE.

Biogeography-Based Optimization (BBO) algorithm, a novel optimizing algorithm, is applied in optimal tuning of multimachine Power System Stabilizer (PSS) parameters. The tuning of fixed-structure lead-lag type PSS parameters is formulated as a quadratic performance optimization problem. An eigenvalue-based objective function is chosen to maximize the damping ratio of the electromechanical modes at different system operating conditions. BBO algorithm, robust to the initial solution and computationally efficient compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms, such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Evolutionary Strategy (ES), is employed to search for optimal PSS parameters. Simulations are carried out on two typical multimachine power systems. Both frequency-domain eigenvalue analysis and time-domain dynamic simulation verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed BBO based PSSs under a wide range operating conditions. Moreover, the superiority of the proposed BBO algorithm is further illustrated by algorithm optimization performance evaluation and dynamic response damping characteristic compared with GA, PSO and ES.
