Low-rank tensor decomposition is a widely-used strategy to compress convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Existing learning-based decomposition methods encourage low-rank filter weights via regularizer of filters’ pair-wise force or nuclear norm during training. However, these methods can not obtain the satisfactory low-rank structure. We propose a new method with an adaptive rank penalty to learn more compact CNNs. Specifically, we transform rank constraint into a differentiable one and impose its adaptive violation-aware penalty on filters. Moreover, this paper is the first work to integrate the learning-based decomposition and group decomposition to make a better trade-off, especially for the tough task of compression of 1 × 1 convolution. the obtained low-rank model can be easily decomposed while nearly keeping the full accuracy without additional fine-tuning process. the effectiveness is verified by compression experiments of VGG and ResNet on CIFAR-10 and ILSVRC-2012. Our method can reduce about 65% parameters of ResNet-110 with 0.04% Top-1 accuracy drop on CIFAR-10, and reduce about 60% parameters of ResNet-50 with 0.57% Top-1 accuracy drop on ILSVRC-2012. © 2021 IEEE.

the ability to accurately detect and localize objects is recognized as being the most important for the perception of self-driving cars. From 2D to 3D object detection, the most difficult is to determine the distance from the ego-vehicle to objects. Expensive technology like LiDAR can provide a precise and accurate depth information, so most studies have tended to focus on this sensor showing a performance gap between LiDAR-based methods and camera-based methods. Although many authors have investigated how to fuse LiDAR with RGB cameras, as far as we know there are no studies to fuse LiDAR and stereo in a deep neural network for the 3D object detection task. this paper presents SLS-Fusion, a new approach to fuse data from 4-beam LiDAR and a stereo camera via a neural network for depth estimation to achieve better dense depth maps and thereby improves 3D object detection performance. Since 4-beam LiDAR is cheaper than the well-known 64-beam LiDAR, this approach is also classified as a low-cost sensors-based method. through evaluation on the KITTI benchmark, it is shown that the proposed method significantly improves depth estimation performance compared to a baseline method. Also when applying it to 3D object detection, a new state of the art on low-cost sensor based method is achieved. © 2021 Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.

through this research work the efficiency of power generation system special thermal power plant which associated with many more nonlinear devices has been broadly examine and possible solution is given. Waste heat can be reuse at highly required heating process is a concept of efficiency improvement in this proposed work. Some of most sensitive point like draying of fuel, preheating air for combustion monitoring, rising of feed water temperature is focus as primary observation towards this approach. Concern theory related to it minimised an extra 3% wt. on moisture of fuel and rise up to inlet air of 35 ℃. these simple techniques altogether improve overall efficiency by 1% and as an outcome saving of 50 Ton of fuel on and average during a year. An intelligent system has been designed that support completely and monitor properly for heat recovery mostly through this work. this provides a result after due analysis of traditional PID with proposed FUZZYPID and justify its utility over for nonlinear complex and nonlinear process. this too possible for all range of operating condition for most expected efficiencies. © the Editor(s) (if applicable) and the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.

Feature selection is an approach to select the important and key feature subset from a large number of redundant features, which can effectively reduce the computational cost and storage cost in the data processing process. therefore, feature selection is widely used in data mining and pattern recognition. the grey Wolf optimization algorithm can solve the problem of feature selection by simulating the predation behavior of gray wolves to obtain the optimal feature subset step by step. In this paper, we propose an opposition based learning grey Wolf optimization algorithm(OGWO), which uses opposition-based learning to initialize and update the population to improve the exploration ability of the population. In order to avoid the local optimum, a nonlinear parameter adjustment strategy is used to update the important parameters of the grey Wolf optimization algorithm. Experiments on 12 datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Experimental results show that OGWO has better classification performance compared with other swarm intelligence algorithms. © 2021 IEEE.

In previous works, a mobile application was developed using an unmodified commercial smartphone to recognize whole-body exercises. the working principle was based on the ultrasound Doppler sensing with the device built-in hardware. Applying such a lab environment trained model on realistic application variations causes a significant drop in performance, and thus decimate its applicability. the reason of the reduced performance can be manifold. It could be induced by the user, environment, and device variations in realistic scenarios. Such scenarios are often more complex and diverse, which can be challenging to anticipate in the initial training data. To study and overcome this issue, this paper presents a database with controlled and uncontrolled subsets of fitness exercises. We propose two concepts to utilize small adaption data to successfully improve model generalization in an uncontrolled environment, increasing the recognition accuracy by two to six folds compared to the baseline for different users. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

the leakage of sensitive information is a pressing problem when information is processed digitally due to the economic, political and social repercussions that it can cause to its owner. Despite the risks and possible threats, the information must always be kept available to users, therefore, alternatives must be available to protect, detect, and prevent the leakage of sensitive information. A particular case of this problem is the leakage of sensitive textual documents. However, the identification of unstructured sensitive information is a problem whose solution is not totally satisfactory despite the development of methods and applications with promising results. thus, it is necessary to continue developing methods that contribute to the effective solution of the problem based on a critical analysis of existing techniques and their future projections. In this work we start from a taxonomy of the approaches with which this problem has been approached. From the taxonomy, the critical analysis of the techniques and above all considering the practical needs, a method of solution to the problem of determining the sensitivity of textual documents is proposed from the perspective of Logical Combinatorial patterns recognition. the problem is approached as a supervised classification problem with two classes: sensitive and non-sensitive textual documents. the proposal in this work is the STClass method to determine the sensitivity of documents, which consists of two phases: the training phase, where the parameters for classification are defined and the classification phase. With the datasets used, 96% of the well classified documents were reached.

this project emphasizes on the meso-level dynamics behind the selection of EV charger locations. the central argument of this article is that many socio-economic and demographic factors explain the distribution of EV charging stations in Southern California. Using EV station data from the US Department of Energy and 2017 ACS data, we adopt multiple model selection method to select best demographic features in predicting the coverage rate of EV charging stations in given zip code area. Aiming at the problem that the traditional collaborative filtering algorithm has low recommendation accuracy and unsatisfactory results when the matrix is sparse, weighted SlopeOne-IBCF algorithm based on user interest attenuation and item clustering is proposed. Firstly, use the weighted Slope One algorithm to predict user ratings and fill in matrix, fuzzy cluster the items in the data set;then combine the interest decay function to modify the target users historical item score, and determine the category of items that the target user is interested in at the current stage;then integrate the time decay function into the process of calculating the similarity, pay attention to the factors that interest and hobbies change with time;finally, the similarity Top k items that are the highest and are not in the users historical item set are recommended to the target user. Experiments show that the algorithm in this paper effectively alleviates the problem of poor recommendation and inaccuracy in the case of sparse data, and further improves the accuracy of recommendation. © 2021, the Editor(s) (if applicable) and the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A valid and practical digital handout on particle wave dualism material was produced in this study. the adaptation of Rowntree product development model and Tessmer formative evaluation was used as the method on the Physics Education Study Program, FKIP, Sriwijaya University. the walkthrough and questionnaire techniques was used to collect data. the result showed the mean score for the validity of the digital handout was 4,53 for the design, content, and linguistic aspects with a highly valid category. the practicality average score in the one-to-one evaluation stage was 79,08% (practical) and in the small group evaluation stage was 84,59% (practical). the product can be used as an additional material in modern physics learning to improve students' technological literacy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Digital technologies, including computers, mobile phones, the internet, and social networks, are widely used worldwide. these devices and technologies can be of great use helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) due to their potential to access information and make social contacts easier, promoting their well-being and social inclusion. Digital technologies can help removing barriers to their use and promoting equal rights and opportunities for all. However, little research has been done to explore the patterns of use and difficulties in using digital technologies experienced by people with IDD. this study seeks to overcome this gap by surveying information on the digital skills of people with IDD, their habits of using digital technologies, and the factors that facilitate or hinder this use. this study surveyed 78 people with IDD about their knowledge, frequency of use, goals, and autonomy in using digital technologies. the results demonstrate the need to implement new approaches to promote the digital inclusion of people with IDD, ensuring that they have access to digital technologies as well as the possibility of learning to use them flexibly and adapt to their conditions. Moreover, the results of this study highlight the importance of developing support networks that involve school, family, and community that can offer a range of initiatives to promote the digital and social inclusion of individuals with IDD. © 2022 ACM.
