Scientific Workflow Applications (SWFA) play a vital role for both service consumers and service providers in designing and implementing large and complex scientific processes. Previously, researchers used parallel and distributed computing technologies, such as utility and grid computing to execute the SWFAs, these technologies provide limited utilization for the shared resources. In contrast, the scalability and flexibility challenges are better handled by using cloud-computing technologies for SWFA. Since cloud computing offers a technology that can significantly utilize the amounts of storage space and computing resources necessary for processing large-size and complex SWFAs. the workflow pattern design has provided the facility of re-using previously developed workflow solutions that enable the developers to adopt them for the considered SWFA. Inspired by this, the researchers have adopted several patterns of design to better design the SWFA. Effective pattern design that can consider challenges that may not become visible only in the implementation stage of a SWFA. However, the selection of the most effective pattern design in accordance with an execution method, data size, and problem complexity of a SWFA remains a challenging task. Motivated by this, we have proposed a conceptual framework that facilitates in recommending a suitable pattern design based on the quality requirements and capabilities are given and advertised by cloud consumers and providers, respectively. Finally, guidelines to assist in a smooth migrating of SWFA from other computation paradigms to cloud computing. © Copyright 2020 by SCITEPRESS - Science and Technology Publications, Lda. Method and Techniques of Machine Learning are used in various fields. Among those Health care is of the field which takes lots of help from the techniques of predictions. through the techniques of predictive analysis in health care, effective treatment and risk factor can be managed effectively among patients and improve the quality of health care. As per the modern scenario, there is a need of huge improvement in the healthcare in term of cost and other factors. Today healthcare sector faces problem in the electronic data management, disease prediction as per the symptoms, patient classification, computer based diagnosis, risk factor etc. these challenges can be solved with the help of the machine learning tools and techniques. In this paper the focus to study the various machine learning method for the predictive analysis. Its includes various application area of machine learning, but mainly highlighting the role of machine learning in health care sectors.

Continuous learning seeks to perform the learning on the data that arrives from time to time. While prior works have demonstrated several possible solutions, these approaches require excessive training time as well as memory usage. this is impractical for applications where time and storage are constrained, such as edge computing. In this work, a novel training algorithm, regularized subspace approximation classifier (RSAC), is proposed to achieve lightweight continuous learning. RSAC contains a feature reduction module and classifier module with regularization. Extensive experiments show that RSAC is more efficient than prior continuous learning works and outperforms these works on various experimental settings.

Live migration is an essential feature in virtual infrastructure and cloud computing datacenters. Using live migration, virtual machines can be online migrated from a physical machine to another with negligible service interruption. Load balance, power saving, dynamic resource allocation, and high availability algorithms in virtual data-centers and cloud computing environments are dependent on live migration. Live migration process has six phases that result in live migration overhead. Currently, virtual datacenters admins run live migrations without an idea about the migration cost prediction and without recommendations about the optimal timing for initiating a VM live migration especially for large memory VMs or for concurrently multiple VMs migration. Without cost prediction and timing optimization, live migration might face longer duration, network bottlenecks and migration failure in some cases. the previously proposed timing optimization approach is based on using machine learning for live migration cost prediction and the network utilization predict ion of the cluster. In this paper, we show how to integrate our machine learning based timing optimization algorithm with VMware vSphere. this integration deployment proves the practicality of the proposed algorithm by presenting the building blocks of the tools and backend scripts that should run to implement this timing optimization feature. the paper shows also how the IT admins can make use of this novel cost prediction and timing optimization option as an integrated plug-in within VMware vSphere UI to be notified with the optimal timing recommendation in case of a having live migration request.

A collection of k mobile agents is arbitrarily deployed in the edges of a directed torus network where agents perpetually move to the successor edge. Each node has a switch that allows one agent of the two incoming edges to pass to its successor edge in every round. the goal is to obtain a switch scheduling to reach and maintain a configuration where the longest queue length is minimum. We consider a synchronous system. We use the concept of conflict graphs to model the local conflicts that occur with incident links. We show that there does not exist an algorithm that can reduce the number of agents in any conflict cycle of the conflict graph providing that all the links have at least 2 agents at every round. Hence, the lower bound is at least the average queue length of the conflict cycle with the maximum average queue length. Next, we present a centralized algorithm that computes a strategy in O(n log n) time for each round that attains the optimal queue length in O(sigma n) rounds where n is the number of nodes in the network and s is the standard deviations of the queue lengths in the initial setting. Our technique is based on network flooding on conflict graphs. Next, we consider a distributed system where nodes have access to the length of their queues and use communication to self-coordinate with nearby nodes. We present a local algorithm using only the information of the queue lengths at distance two. We show that the algorithm attains the optimal queue length in O(sigma C-max(2)) rounds where C-max is the length of the longest conflict cycle with the maximum average queue length.

In this paper a non-contact thermometer is designed. It calculates the temperature from the infrared radiation produced by the subject being measured. It can be used for industrial purpose as well as for medical purposes. In medical purpose it is used to measure the core body temperature from forehead temperature depends on ambient air temperature that affects in the heat transfer coefficient. Heat transfers by conduction from the core body temperature and by convection from forehead to ambient air. the overall heat transfer coefficient is determined empirically depends on studies that had been made by measuring forehead temperature and core body temperature in various ambient air temperatures for hundreds of persons. the accuracy of the proposed thermometer is ±0.3°C compared with Rossmax HA-500 device which depends on the accuracy of the studies and its results in various conditions. © 2021, the Editor(s) (if applicable) and the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Object detection is one of the most fundamental but important computer vision tasks. However, small object detection remains an unsolved challenge due to insufficient detailed appearances and additional noises. Meanwhile, aerial images and intelligent transportation systems are under the restriction of difficulties such as dense object arrangement, a large number of small objects, and different perspectives, compared with natural images. To deal with these problems, an adversarial-like data augmentation training is proposed in this paper to narrow the data gap between remote sensing images and natural ones. the difficulty of the remote sensing object detection is verified and analyzed firstly by the classic single-stage anchor-based detector RetinaNet. then, the multi-scale and data augmentations are introduced to alleviate the mismatch between general detector training and aerial images based on the anchor-free state-of-the-art (SOTA) model FCOS. Experiments on the remote sensing dataset, NWPU VHR10, demonstrate the quasi-antagonism data augmentation method improves the both anchor-based and anchor-free SOTA detectors for natural images with significant margins and shows the effectiveness on aerial images, especially small objects. © 2021 IEEE.

this paper investigates a psychological experiment was conducted for examine whether the openness feeling on height direction arising when entering a high ceiling room could be control by the bending pattern of leading passage. 32 college students as the participants walked around the virtual environment including the high ceiling rooms with the narrow passages. Seven experimental conditions are created by connecting six different shaped "narrow-passages" to one side of the "high ceiling room" or not connecting any approach. the result is that the ceiling height in the "high-ceiling-room" tends to adjust lower when connecting the "narrow-passage" of the upward slope than when connecting the straight "narrow-passage". It is suggested that by adding a physical movement "climbing up an oblique road" could suppress openness feeling in the high ceiling room.
