Federated learning is an emerging, distributed machine learning methodology in which participants submit parameters after using their own local data for training and the server aggregates model parameters submitted by users to form a federated learning model. By sending the local learning results rather than sending out the raw data to the server, the user cannot see how the global model is generated. This opacity protects user privacy. However, since the raw data is never sent to the server, its quality and integrity cannot be guaranteed. Malicious attackers can inject poisoning attacks into their own data or the uploading parameters. Thus, federated learning is very vulnerable to distributed poisoning attacks, and this causes the model performances to be reduced significantly. Designing a robust federated learning is a challenging task. In this paper, we propose an isolated forest-based federated learning defense model as IFFed to eliminate the poisoned model parameters of attackers. In each iteration of federated learning, we use isolated forests to partition the data space of model parameters and calculate the probability of anomaly for each participant. Further, we use auxiliary data to design dynamic thresholds to exclude attackers and minimize the impact of the defense model on benign users. Experiments show that IFFed can automatically defend against poisoning attacks, and the performance of the defending model can be significantly improved by adjusting the pre-trained auxiliary model to ensure proper training of the global model. © 2022 IEEE.

Recent advances in point cloud segmentation distill knowledge from strictly aligned point-pixel fusion features while leaving a large number of unmatched image pixels unexplored and unmatched LiDAR points under-benefited. In this paper, we propose a novel approach, named ProtoTransfer, which not only fully exploits image representations but also transfers the learned multi-modal knowledge to all point cloud features. Without bells and whistles, our approach demonstrates superior performance over the published state-of-the-arts on two large-scale benchmarks, i.e., nuScenes and SemanticKITTI, and ranks 2nd on the competitive nuScenes Lidarseg challenge leaderboard.

Javanese culture is a culture that the Javanese own, and the Javanese have started to exist with their culture since before the era of the Majapahit kingdom, and the Javanese are famous for their ability to sail the oceans. In addition, the many temples built, which are currently historical sites, prove that the Javanese are a large ethnic group that inhabits the island of Java. Other Javanese cultures include Javanese handicrafts such as kris, Javanese dance, Javanese batik art, Javanese wayang art, Javanese carving art, Javanese songs, and Javanese writings. All these cultures are part of the wealth of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia that must be preserved and passed down from one generation to another, and current technological developments tend to make the current generation less aware of preserving the culture of their ancestors. Therefore, we use technology to create an application for learning Javanese culture by applying game elements as entertainment elements. The business process of this application is modeled using use case diagrams and class diagrams to describe the database relationships. This mobile application is built using android studio and uses a MySQL database. © 2022 IEEE.

Acquiring computational specifications of human values is key for building value-aligned and value-aware AI systems. We surveyed methods for learning ethical principles and value-aligned behaviour from human demonstrations or specifications of values. However, to our knowledge, no attempt has been proposed for learning these value specifications from demonstrations, while satisfying the possibly diverse value preferences of different agents. In this work we propose a novel value learning framework (agnostic of specific learning techniques) for (i) learning value groundings (specifications of given values) and (ii) identifying value systems (the particular value preferences of agents) from observed behavior in an application domain. We illustrate our framework in a route choice modeling scenario, using tailored inverse reinforcement learning algorithms. The results show that we can successfully learn value systems that are coherent with observed route choices. Our findings open up intriguing concerns and challenges for future research in the area. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Detecting overlapping communities is a significant challenge in unsupervised machine learning for network-structured data. While some researchers have applied graph convolutional networks (GCNs) to this problem, most existing GCNs are shallow, limiting their ability to detect communities with larger diameters. Furthermore, the integration of dynamic dilated aggregation into deep GCNs for irregular graphs remains an unresolved issue. To bridge these gaps, we introduce a dynamic residual deep GCN (DynaResGCN), built upon a random dynamic dilated aggregation algorithm within a unified encoder-decoder framework. The encoder utilizes the deep DynaResGCN model, and the decoder uses Bernoulli-Poisson (BP) model. Our framework is tested on three datasets: a topics dataset where ground truth is not available, Facebook graphs with human-labeled ground truth, and large co-authorship networks with less reliable ground truth. Extensive experiments validate that our method is significantly better than many existing methods in detecting overlapping communities in networks. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The purpose of this project is to develop an English grammar error correction system based on deep learning. The system will be able to recognize grammatical errors and automatically correct them using machine learning technology. The main goal of the project is to build an efficient and accurate grammar error detection tool, which can detect and correct the errors made by users when inputting in English, Chinese and other languages. Grammar error detection system using deep learning technology: grammar correction is a technology that can identify and correct written English grammar errors. The system uses deep learning techniques to identify grammatical errors and correct them. It is used in conjunction with an algorithm for identifying errors and then generates a corrected sentence from which you can learn how to write correctly. The system also learns your writing style by observing how your writing changes over time, so it will be able to detect more errors. In recent years, 'environmental, social, and governance' (ESG) stocks have become the best investment considerations. This article selects data from the ESG 300 Index (***) and ESG 300 Index (***) of the Chinese stock market and analyze its volatility and stock performance from April 2020 to September 2021. We compare the Sharpe Ratio, Sotino Ratio, Treynor Ratio, and Information Ratio of the ESG 300 Index with the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index. We use GARCH (1, 1) model to assess the volatility and apply machine learning technical skills, including KNN, SVM, and AdaBoost algorithm, to identify the relationship between ESG scores and stock returns collected from RANKING CSR Rating Agency. Based on different ESG scores, we construct hedge fund portfolios and separate them into four classes: Excellent ESG portfolios, Good ESG portfolios, Fair ESG portfolios, and Bad ESG portfolios, and compare with the Sharpe ratio under the situation of the effective tangent frontier. The results show that, compared with non-ESG-related stocks, ESG-related stocks cannot bring excess returns and have better risk performance during a normal period. © 2022 IEEE.
