One of the most promising wave energy converters (WECs) is the oscillating water column (OWC). In order to improve the economic viability of OWCs, advanced control strategies to maximise the produced power are required. To date, since the most critical element of OWCs is the air turbine in the power-take-off mechanism, the vast majority of OWC control strategies focus on aerodynamic control. To optimise the entire energy conversion chain, the overall wave-to-wire system should be considered but, due to the overbearing issue of turbine efficiency, and the difficult implementation of OWC hydrodynamic control, there has been a lack of focus on hydrodynamic control. In the current paper, since hydrodynamic control is prioritised among other WEC types, we examine if additional benefit can be obtained by OWC hydrodynamic control and, as an initial step, we consider hydrodynamic control alone to expose the fundamental issues. © 2023 the Author(s).

Mobile robots are used in a variety of fields, such as scientific research, industrial manufacturing, household services, and more. As robots tackle more complex tasks, the ability of robots to localize and map becomes more testable. Compared with GPS positioning, SLAM technology has more advantages in indoor and other environments. this article will combine the book "Probabilistic Robot"to introduce several traditional SLAM algorithms: EKF-SLAM, GRAPH-SLAM, FASTSLAM, ORB-SLAM... and propose some research on semantic SLAM. this paper mainly shows the difference and advantages between semantic SLAM and other SLAM. © 2022 IEEE.

the usage of electricity is steadily rising, and this pattern will last in the future. Fast network control systems have also been recently investigated and created, and some are already in regular use, while others are in pilot applications or are prototypes. this paper aims to demonstrate that these systems, also known as FACTS (Flexible Alternative Current Transmission Systems), have similarly dethroned traditional systems while offering better solutions and resolving the issue of energy quality, similar to the hybrid system, which opens up new opportunities for more effective network utilization through continuous and quick action on the various network parameters (voltage, phase shift, and impedance);consequently, the power transits will be more efficient. While ensuring robust control with cutting-edge algorithms through the creation of identification/control strategies based on GPC neural network and generalized predictive control. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In this paper, an active damping compensation technique based on model predictive current control (MPCC) is proposed to improve the stability and dynamic performance of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) filmcapacitor drive system. this paper introduces model predictive control to improve the current loop bandwidth to ensure the compensation effect of the reference current compensation (RCC) technique. the method effectively suppresses voltage oscillation while improving the steady-state control performance of the motor. Finally, a DSP-based physical verification platform of the PMSM is built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. © 2022 IEEE.

Soft robots have attracted significant interest due to their capability to interact, adapt and reconfigure in response to external stimuli. Due to their low modulus constitutive materials, intrinsic safety is embedded in softrobots, allowing them to perform tasks that are nearly impossible with rigid counterparts. Nevertheless, the resulting highly nonlinear response of such materials renders the kinematical prediction and control of soft robots challenging, ofter requiring sophisticated sensing and processing state processing algorithms. Leveraging multistability offers exciting opportunities to encode several stable states of soft robots, ultimately simplifying the actuation and control problems. We present a pneumatically actuated soft gripper with encoded multiple stable states that provide a route to shape reconfiguration without closed-loop control. Informed by the mechanics of hierarchically multistable metastructures, we design coexisting states resembling different actuation modes in soft manipulators, including grasping and twisting. this is achieved by leveraging distinct path-dependent inversion sequences to access desired coexisting states on-demand. Our strategy offers a new route for controlling soft multistable robots exploiting their strong nonlinear mechanics to the designer's advantage.

Andrew's Sine Estimator (ASE) has recently been used to invent adaptive filtering, which can combat more kind of noises than conventional estimators. Inspired by the LMS and its sparse forms, normalization and proportionate ASE algorithms with Lawson constraints are constructed with the respective given names of Lawson normalization ASE (LNASE) and Lawson proportionate NASE (LPNASE). Simulations are performed to analyze the performance of these algorithms under impulsive noise. © 2022 IEEE.

To reach a commercial potential comparable to offshore wind, the performance of wave energy systems must be improved. At the same time, the costs must be reduced and the survivability improved. To reduce costs and improve the power quality, wave energy converters can be installed together in farms. advanced control methods have shown to be efficient in improving the energy absorption of wave energy systems, but applying them in reality is difficult and costly. Here, a simple passive control approach is applied to a wave energy farm and its effect on the energy absorption during one full year at the Wave Hub site is investigated. the method identifies the current sea state peak period from the motion of some of the devices in the farm. Based on this information, the generator damping of all the devices is then adjusted accordingly. Based on this simple passive control strategy, the total energy absorbed by the park is improved. the energy increase is only moderate, which can be understood from the fact that the default damping has already been tuned to the average sea state at the site, and the absorbed power does not vary much when the generator damping is shifted slightly off the optimal value. © 2023 the Author(s).

the research is based on agile development framework of Scrum, and taking a laboratory management system with the lightweight design architecture of Spring Boot as an example. this study is devoted to the rapid development of this laboratory management system with the technology of ZigBee, and describes the feasible process of development and realization on the first Sprint for Scrum, which is combined with local environment. the feedback on application of experimental software engineering laboratory is positively. Finally, further work of development of a sub-system for experiment login and allocation that can be integrated through the third-party access control system and adding to elements of intelligent management which are reflected in laboratory management system are put forward in this paper. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, numerous synthesized face-swapping videos generated by face forgery algorithms have become an emerging problem, which promotes facial manipulation detection to be a significant topic. With the development of face forgery algorithms, some fake face images or videos generated by those strong forgery algorithms are very realistic, which have brought much difficulty to facial manipulation detection. In this paper, we present a novel facial manipulation detection method based on contrastive learning. We analyze theure features of manipulated facial images and propose to compare and learn the features of the whole face and the center face in order to get more general features. We calculate the similarity and distribution distance between the whole face and the center face. the experiments implemented on FaceForensics++ dataset demonstrate that the proposed method achieves outstanding results and can learn the general features. © 2022 IEEE.

In this article, we introduce a device for analyzing and identifying electrical appliances, which takes the CS5463 module as the core and STM32F407 microcontroller as the control center. this device can collect the multi-dimensional electrical parameters of the measured load, such as voltage, current, harmonic content, and power. Based on the collected data, we can analyze the electrical characteristics of the load in different states, with algorithms such as CUSUM based on compound windows and wavelet analysis. Finally, using the comprehensive use of the power factor method, table look-up method, and direct discrimination method, we can realize the identification of the types of electrical appliances in the state of multiple electrical appliances coupling. © 2022 IEEE.
