The necessity of FET-Biosensors in many fields has prompted the development of considerably more easily than traditional tests. As signal-to-noise ratio, sensing surface properties, and other accurate and potent biosensors, since they can gather information more quickly and quantitative and qualitative performance parameters will eventually be taken into account, this paper will primarily focus on these parameters to discuss the current challenges in device design. By doing so, it will be possible to address some of the most pressing issues with device design and practical restrictions. Moreover, this article included systematic development of performance parameters along with their outstanding electrical characteristics, compactness, scalability and applications. © 2023 ieee.

Drinking water treatment plants built in the 20th century do not meet all water quality requirements. To date, combined water treatment methods have been developed that are capable of purifying water to standard values both during short-term (episodic) wastewater discharges from industrial enterprises and during flood periods. The article discusses different ways of combining the ozonation method with the current water treatment technology. Experimental studies were carried out at a pilot plant for primary and secondary ozonation, and the results obtained were described. Based on the laboratory studies obtained, a combined technological scheme of a water treatment plant for producing drinking water has been proposed. © 2024 ieee.

This paper reports a conductive Velcro electrode with micro-cracks for the first time. The laser-induced micro-cracks increase the surface area of Velcro hooks and facilitate the adhesion of more silver particles. A cluster of Nylon-Ag hook are durable with repeated mechanical compression and multiple washing. After 100 times of compression, the plastic deformation is less than 23 μm ( © 2025 ieee.

Integrating the Network Service Header (NSH) into Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) is crucial for effective service function chaining (SFC). This integration preserves the sequence of service functions that traffic must traverse and allows network operators to optimize traffic routes based on current network conditions, thereby enhancing network utilization. currently, OpenvSwitch does not support this capability;however, P4 technology, which enables data plane programming in network switches, makes this integration feasible. In this paper, we propose the design and implementation combining P4 switches and SDN controllers to facilitate this integration within the SFC environment. Our experimental result demonstrates significant improvements in network performance and service quality. © 2024 ieee.

It is common knowledge that Malaysia's solar photovoltaic system is prone to lightning strikes because they must be installed in areas with a lot of open space to operate in full condition, which results in high radiation and a lot of lightning density. Exposure to lightning strikes can harm all electric components of solar photovoltaic systems and cause electromagnetic interference. This interference may result in losses and have an impact on the efficiency of solar photovoltaic systems. A photovoltaic module was modelled and tested under normal and lightning conditions using COMSOL Multiphysics software to observe how the lightning affected the electromagnetic interference of magnetic field and magnetic flux density on the photovoltaic system. The Polycrystalline Silicon solar cell material was analyzed with different assigned electric current injection points which are middle and corner of the photovoltaic module. The result shows that during lightning, the simulated model produces greater electromagnetic interference than the normal condition. In addition, different electric current injection points have a significant impact on the electromagnetic interference which affects the induced current when exposed to lightning. Lastly, there was a slight impact on electromagnetic interference due to the change of solar cell material. © 2024 ieee.

For hydraulic robotic manipulators trajectory planning, we propose an imitation learning method that combines Dynamic System (DS) models and probabilistic learning. Trajectory teaching is carried out based on the teleoperation system built in this article, and the trajectory is modeled, learned and reproduced based on the Dynamic System (DS) model and Task-parameterized Gaussian Mixture Model (TP-GMM) and Gaussian Mixture Regression (GMR). To validate this method, we conducted experiments where a 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) hydraulic robotic manipulators wrote letters. The results demonstrate that this approach can successfully reproduce the trajectories of letters and generalize the starting and ending points of these trajectories. © 2024 ieee.

In Federated Learning (FL) for the low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks with parameters aggregated by a ground station, the communication overhead is a substantial concern. To circumvent this limitation and alleviate the latency within the FL for the satellite-ground communication, Decentralized Federated Learning (DFL) has appeared as an effective solution. However, considering the heterogeneity of satellites, the problem on how to efficiently leverage the limited resources available to enhance the model performance of DFL has drawn little attention, which motivates this work. Specifically, the proposed solution involves optimizing the number of local training rounds across diverse satellites with varying resource budgets to enhance the DFL performance by utilizing the resource more efficiently. Simulation results show that, the proposed scheme achieves a much better performance than the conventional schemes with fixed rounds of local training. © 2024 ieee.

Accidents are escalating at an unprecedented rate with the increase in number of automobiles. A total of 1.24 million individuals loses their lives in accidents every year. The main factors contributing to these accidents in India include drunk driving, exhaustion, and improperly constructed speed breakers. The development of automobiles with IoT features, such as those for monitoring vehicles, providing healthcare, preventing accidents, improving driver and passenger comfort, and more, is now a top priority for many manufacturers. This study looked at current developments in IoT and smart automatic braking system- based driver comfort and health monitoring. It regulates avehicle's speed based on the distance to an obstruction and may also perform emergency braking automatically if necessary. A prototype car is created and tested. The system will detect obstacles with an ultrasonic sensor, and the Arduino will perform emergency braking based on pre-burned code in the Arduino. When a reading exceeds established threshold values, a warning is created, and if a driver does not take action within a certain amount of time, our proposed system will manage the problem. © 2023 ieee.

This study proposes a continuous robust control approach for Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS) using Robust-Exact-Differentiators (RED)-based Extended State Observers (ESOs). Firstly, according to the charging and discharging characteristics of the supercapacitor and the battery, a low-pass filter is developed to distribute the fluctuating power. The battery handles the low-frequency component of the voltage loop output signal, and the supercapacitor manages the high-frequency component. Secondly, in the voltage outer loop, an adaptive active disturbance rejection controller is proposed to generate the reference current for the inner loop. Thirdly, in the current inner loop with battery and supercapacitor, two RED-based ESOs are utilized to reconstruct the unknown current derivative, and continuous robust controllers are designed by using the RED-based ESOs. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for HESS with RED-based ESOs. © 2024 ieee.

Open source hardware (OSH) is hardware for which a free right of any use is granted to the general public and whose technical documentation is completely available and freely accessible on the internet (DIN SPEC 3105). While OSH has the potential of facilitating participation in product development on a broadly distributed scale, the need for physical production adds a layer of complexity compared to the development of free and open source software (FOSS). More evidence is needed on the transferability of open source development processes from software to physical products. This cross-sectional study therefore takes a closer look at the transition of open source practices from bits to atoms on the activity level. It investigates the issue of how practitioners work together to design OSH products as well as associated limitations in practice.
