The power supply and distribution of the 'Photovoltaic, Energy Storage, Direct current and Flexibility (PEDF)' system in buildings is often challenged due to the temporal mismatch between electricity generation and consumption. The electricity supply of the PEDF system needs to be flexibly adjusted to accurately respond to load demand and decarbonize the building's operation, which poses challenges for power dispatching within the system. This study proposes a data-driven model predictive control optimization strategy, considering three representative electricity consumption scenarios for residential, commercial, and industrial sectors under two weather conditions (clear/cloudy). The proposed strategy aims to optimize carbon emissions and power purchase costs as primary objectives while incorporating Time-Of-Use pricing. The results demonstrate that across various scenarios, the optimized dispatch strategy significantly mitigates carbon emissions and reduces power purchase costs incurred by the system during daily operations compared to the conventional rule-based dispatch approach. These findings offer insights into promoting low-carbon buildings and fostering sustainable development in building energy.

When large-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems are connected to the grid, the influence of interharmonics cannot be ignored. This paper proposes a modified MPPT method to reduce the amplitude of harmonic components in the duty cycle, thereby greatly mitigating the interharmonics in the grid-connected current. The modified MPPT method and sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) method are integrated as a dedicated analog control scheme, which features in simple structure and low cost, making it suitable for discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) flyback microinverters. © 2024 ieee.

As global oil resources gradually deplete, the development of deepwater oil and gas resources becomes particularly important. However, the exploitation of deepwater oil and gas resources is characterized by high technology, high investment, and high risk, especially in terms of production safety. This study aims to accurately predict wellbore annular pressure by analyzing the time series of wellbore production data using advanced Transformer models and a multi-scale mechanism. By incorporating a multi-scale mechanism, the model can pay attention to both short-term subtle changes and long-term trend changes. Experimental results show that compared to traditional LSTM models and Transformer, our Multi-Scale Transformer model demonstrates advantages in prediction accuracy and the ability to handle long sequence data. This will contribute to enhancing the safety and economic efficiency of deepwater oil and gas development. © 2024 ieee.

Polarization, a fundamental characteristic of electromagnetic (EM) waves, is crucial for modern communication and remote sensing systems. High-precision acquisition of polarization information is essential in sensing applications for accurately identifying and analyzing targets and scenes. This paper introduces a novel method for detecting microwave polarization using spoof localized surface plasmons (SLSPs). SLSPs are EM modes that simulate electronic and optical resonance phenomena in the microwave and terahertz bands, exhibiting deep subwavelength characteristics, field confinement, and near-field enhancement. These attributes enable device miniaturization and improved signal-to-noise ratios. The proposed method involves decomposing the dipole eigenmodes of the SLSPs into two orthogonal basis modes. By measuring their responses, accurate polarization information of incident microwaves can be obtained. A practical polarization sensing device consisting of an SLSPs resonator, was designed and validated through simulations and experiments. Additionally, we explored integrating the polarization sensing system with a circuit system. This paper offers a promising approach for advanced applications in microwave polarization detection. © 2024 ieee.

Based on the current situation of shipping construction and development of Hainan Free Trade Port, drawing on the evaluation indicators of relevant shipping development reports, combined with the strategic development positioning of Hainan Free Trade Port, this paper formulates 2 first-level indicators, 6 second-level indicators and 18 third-level evaluation indicators, and uses EViews software to analyze the principal component of the number of indicators, and then uses SPSS software to further analyze the results of the principal components Cluster analysis was carried out, and the conclusion that Hainan Free Trade Port could learn from the London international Shipping Center for intelligent technological innovation. Accurately pinpointing the weak insulation area on the electrode surface and effectively regulating the arc energy exerted on the area are key problems in optimizing conditioning performance. In this study, high-voltage pulses with relatively low energy were adopted to cause breakdown in the vacuum gap. Furthermore, the weak insulation area on the electrode surface can be positioned successively. During the breakdown period, a specific current with a certain amplitude and time constant was injected into the weak insulation area, and conditioning on the identified area was performed subsequently. Regarding the aforementioned conditioning principles, the performance of targeting the insulation weaknesses on the electrode surface and the regulation of the conditioning energy in a quantitative style are both achieved, which is called the targeted current conditioning (TCC) method in this study. To optimize the energy exerted on the electrode surface and monitor the conditioning status, the field emission current was explored, and the corresponding measurement system was researched and established consequently. Experimental results show that the insulation level can be improved significantly using the TCC method compared with the traditional method. In addition, the field emission current was measured in sequence during the conditioning process, which is in accordance with the conditioning status at the current moment and can be adopted as a criterion for the subsequent optimization of the conditioning energy. © 2024 ieee.

In robotic applications, electro-hydraulic servo systems are widely used due to their excellent force control characteristics and fast response capabilities. However, they must withstand complex dynamic loads, which places high demands on control performance. To address the issues of poor anti-disturbance capability and low tracking accuracy in traditional electro-hydraulic servo control systems, an improved Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) is proposed. This controller effectively tracks the position, velocity, and acceleration of the input signal, enhancing tracking accuracy, speed, and anti-disturbance performance. Additionally, an adaptive backstepping control algorithm is introduced to simulate the variations in dynamic loads. This algorithm estimates and compensates for unknown and time-varying parameters, offering superior force tracking performance compared to traditional control methods. © 2024 ieee.

The substantial increase in current during faults and the injection of negative sequence components by fault ride-through strategies during asymmetrical faults significantly affect the fault steady-state voltage (FSV) of interconnected island microgrids. The complexity of system configurations, including diverse line parameters and structures exacerbates the challenges in analyzing fault voltages. This paper constructs a fault steady-state aggregation model for interconnected microgrids under fault ride-through strategy. Numerical analysis and time-domain simulations reveal that the effect of interconnection on the FSV of island microgrids adheres to a predefined structural relation independent of the interconnected system structure. This discovery provides theoretical guidance for designing cooperative protection and voltage support strategies. © 2024 ieee.

In this research, the state of charge (SOC) in lithium-ion batteries is characterized using magnetic field imaging techniques. Initially, a three-dimensional model of a single cell is established, and the external magnetic field surrounding the cell is visualized based on obtained electrode current density. Subsequently, a comparison is made between the magnetic field imaging results of cells with different tab designs, considering the different current directions of the two types of cells. Finally, an investigation is carried out to explore the relationship between the SOC of lithium-ion batteries and the external magnetic field generated by the current distribution. The findings reveal a gradual decrease in the magnetic field as the SOC of the lithium-ion battery increases. This study provides a significant foundation for utilizing magnetic field imaging techniques to monitor and evaluate the SOC in lithium-ion batteries. © 2024 ieee.

A flexible active-matrix piezoelectric tactile sensor array is fabricated and affixed on the back of a hand to monitor the location and deformation of the extensor-tendons associated with a hand gesture. Based on the same thin-film transistor technology, an artificial neural network (ANN) allowing real-time and near-sensor classification of sensor signals is implemented. The integration of the tactile sensor array and an ANN facilitates the development of a compact human-machine interface system for recognition of hand gestures and their mimicry by a robotic hand. © 2025 ieee.
