Among the most significant sleep concerns is obstructive apnea syndrome in sleep (OASS) which harms the quality of life. A few effects of OASS include cognitive decline, impaired psychiatric function, behavior problems, and personality ailments. Real-time monitoring of this condition is thus essential for clinical services. There seem to be numerous OASS-detecting techniques. Hence, the present experiment provides a new system both for detecting and assisting therapies of OASS in elderly individuals. This design was developed for tracking a variety of variables including the surroundings where a person goes to sleep, their sleeping quality, physical activity levels, and physiological variables by utilizing open data from smarter city systems. 2 sorts of processing are performed by the suggested method. In the instance of a crisis, real-time notices can be sent to those in charge of caring for the old aged owing to the rule-relied pre-processing technique. This method fundamentally relies on a fog computing strategy applied in a smarter device functioning at networking edges which also provides enhanced interoperable ability services, including technological, semantic, and syntactic capabilities. Big data devices on cloud computing are utilized in this process. The effectiveness of the system has also been assessed given latencies. The outcomes obtained indisputably show that pre-processing of data at networking edges increases system effectiveness. © 2023 IEEE.

This project aims to mature a Driver Snoozing system (DSS) that provide alertness to drivers when they are fatigue, both in day time and night time. A regular camera is used to monitor the driver's face and eyes to check their alertness level. The system sounds an alarm when it detects signs of tiredness. This system's main goals are to improve traffic flow, avoid accidents caused by tired drivers, warn drivers in advance, and reduce the financial burden of traffic accidents. Additionally, it will lessen the strain on healthcare systems, aid in preventing traffic-related injuries and fatalities, and enhance the quality of life for people and communities. The purpose of this study was to create a technological solution for the problem of drowsy driving, which is a major risk for road safety and a common cause of accidents. In this article, the proposed Driver Snoozing system comprises of Infrared sensor and camera which can potentially reduce the accidents caused by driver fatigue because it can identify sleepy driving both in the daytime and at nighttime. Despite some limitations, it can potentially improve traffic safety and reduce the financial expense of accidents. More research and development are needed to make it more accurate and effective. © 2023 IEEE.

Object grasping based on artificial neural network is a research hotspot in the field of industrial robot, and effective grasping is highly challenging in the robot control process. In the traditional robot object grasping process, it is necessary to obtain and store the three-bit model of the grabbed object in advance based on template control grasping trajectory, which leads to the grasping scene that is relatively fixed and single, lacking the flexibility of grasping. This study constructs a lightweight convolution neural network combined with artificial neural network technology based on the RGB-D camera, and points at for known objects and unknown objects two categories to study algorithm of the robot grasping position detection, which provides effective technical support to solve the problem of grasping position detection and improves the flexibility of grasping. © 2023 SPIE.

In the process of target surveillance and imaging, it is necessary to be able to observe the target for a long time and with high resolution, so as to obtain and record more target details. However, due to the size limitation of the imaging device, the field of view and resolution of the current imaging system are mutually restricted, and it is impossible to simultaneously perform wide range search and high-resolution observation of the target. In this paper, a coaxial multi focal plane cooperative imaging device is designed and manufactured. Through light splitter and focal plane combination, imaging device has the ability to simultaneously search for wide field of view targets and high-resolution targets surveillance. In addition, the two focal plane images of this device are obtained along the same optical axis, which provides convenient conditions for target tracking and ensures the tracking effect. © 2023 SPIE.

The rapid expansion of urban infrastructure and construction projects require efficient monitoring and security measures in surveillance areas. Traditional methods of ground-level surveillance have limitations such as time-consuming, small exploring areas, and requiring a lot of people or ground-level surveillance devices. In response to this challenge, aerial images are valuable and widely used for various reasons in different fields. They can be used to monitor various areas from the top view. This study provides a method for the detection of backhoes in the surveillance area using aerial images with modified Faster-RCNN. Initially, aerial images were sent to the Resnet-101 structured convolution network to automatically extract features from the input image. The outcome will be the input of two sub-networks, a region proposal network and a Fast-RCNN. This proposed method modified the anchor box sizes in the region proposal network to be suitable to detect very small backhoes from aerial images. Additionally, RoI pooling and RoI align were evaluated and compared a result of a backhoe detection. To evaluate the proposed approach, five iterations of hold-out method with RoI pooling and RoI align technique with different anchor box sizes were experimented. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed system, achieving high precision and recall rates in backhoe detection tasks. This study found that RoI align gives the best backhoe detection result, 86.8% of the mean average precision value while the RoI pooling, the original pooling technique from Faster R-RCNN give mean average precision only 76.7%. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Aiming at the problems of poor design data traceability, low model reusability, and lack of overall system design concept during the development of the traditional Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) bogie instability detection system, we are applying the Model-Based systems Engineering (MBSE) to the EMU bogie design of the instability detection system. Based on the Arcadia modeling method, combined with the function definition analysis method, the structure of the EMU bogie instability detection system is designed: The instability detection system is established through four levels of operational analysis, system analysis, logical architecture analysis, and physical architecture analysis. The architecture model from "black box" to "white box";the function is defined and analyzed through three links: identification function, expression function, and evaluation function. The research shows that in the process of designing the structure of the bogie instability detection system for the EMU, the model established by the model-based systems engineering method is traceable and reusable, and the overall design of the system can be carried out in the early stage of creation, and the EMU can be improved. Riding a motorcycle is an exhilarating experience, but it comes with its risks. In 2019, the National Highway Traffic. Safety Administration reported that motorcycle riders were 28 times more likely to die in a crash than passenger car occupants. A smart helmet is a wearable that can be used to enhance the safety of motorcycle riders. It includes features such as crash detection and wear detection, which can prevent the bike from starting unless the rider is wearing a helmet. It is also equipped with accelerometers, gyroscopes which help to detect crashes, and also connected with a GSM module chip which sends a message to important contacts and nearby hospital in case of emergency. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With rising Internet use across the developing countries, increasing network security is vital because it minimizes the dangers of social privacy spoofing, identity or information theft, and financial fraud. Phishing and spam emails are two of the most prevalent network security breaches because they are vulnerable to transmit a virus or a malicious website, potentially leading to widespread fraud. Phishing attacks are defined as the theft of consumers' personal information by a non-trusted source acting as a trustworthy source;however, this is not always the case. Phishing occurs when a link pretends as legitimate in order to deceive unaware consumers and drive them to do an activity that they would only take if they trusted the source. To distinguish phishing from legitimate URLs, link classification methods like Logistic Regression and K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) may be used. In this study, we proposed a machine learning-based phishing URL system by analysing the URLs using these two distinct categorization methods and comparing the findings with prior studies using different datasets. The results of the experiments demonstrate how well the recommended models function according to the proposed methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Continuous carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites have problems such as long temperature self setting time, high overshoot, and low control accuracy during laser in situ molding, resulting in poor component forming quality. This article designs a temperature closed-loop control system based on an intelligent fuzzy proportional-integral-differential (PID) controller. By introducing a fuzzy self-tuning PID algorithm, the goal of quickly adjusting to the working temperature when turned on is achieved. The temperature overshoot is significantly reduced, and the temperature control accuracy is improved. According to the requirements of laser in situ forming of carbon fiber reinforced polyether ether ketone composite materials, a laser in situ forming experimental device was built. Through simulation testing and comparison of forming temperature, the results showed that compared with traditional PID controllers, when using an intelligent fuzzy PID controller to control temperature, the temperature control accuracy was maintained at ± 10 ℃, the overshoot percentage was about 2.29%, and the adjustment time was about 9.7 seconds. All indicators met the actual engineering requirements, The temperature setting effect is good and the fitting degree is high. Therefore, the overall performance of the intelligent fuzzy PID controller is far superior to traditional PID controllers, meeting the temperature control requirements in the laser in situ molding process of thermoplastic composite materials. © 2023 SPIE.

Intersection detection plays a crucial role in localizing and planning the path of autonomous vehicles in urban environments. This paper presents a novel approach, PVWO, for adaptive intersection detection in autonomous vehicles equipped with 3D LiDAR. Firstly, the algorithm removes ground and obstacles effectively, and eliminates noise points. Secondly, a polyarticular viewpoints beam model is applied to detect the type and location of intersections. Thirdly, a linear feature extraction approach in a rolling window is proposed to detect road width and optimize key parameters, enhancing model robustness across different scenes. Compared to parallel intersection detection algorithms, our method exhibits excellent performance under diverse road conditions. Experiments in sparse point clouds show an average precision exceeding 89% and an average processing time of approximately 88 ms/frame. These results demonstrate that our method can accurately detect intersections in real-time, across various road structures. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.
