With advancement in technology and the internet Cloud computing is becoming more popular and hence the number of datacentres is increasing which causes the amount of power consumption to increase and more cooling equipment are required. How to efficiently distribute Virtual Machines (VMs) to the Physical Machines (PMs) or hosts in order to conserve power is the task. There are numerous existing energy-conscious methods which concentrate on reducing energy use in a cloud environment. Here two models, a gradient regression-based method and a maximum percentage of correlation-based method are proposed;these can significantly minimize use of energy in cloud computing. CloudSim is a simulation tool for simulating cloud computation environments. The VM migration policy has been modified to give more energy efficient results. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of machine vision, image edge detection is an important technology, which can make necessary preparation for the later image processing. Consequently, accurate evaluation of the edge detection effect of the processed image is a more critical technology. In this paper, the new three criteria are proposed, which is based on Canny's three criteria for edge detection. Through theoretical analysis, three quantitative basic evaluation indexes are given to the new three criteria, namely SSIM index of image reconstruction similarity, BIdx index of edge reliability and CIdx index of edge continuity. Additionally, noise evaluation criteria is also considered. Then the four basic evaluation indexes are fused to get the objective evaluation index EIdx of image edge detection. Finally, the experimental data show that the accuracy of the method is better than that of the subjective evaluation system. © 2023 IEEE.

To reduce carbon emission levels, an in-grid energy system combining photovoltaic (PV) and electric energy storage applicable to distributed parks has been modeled and evaluated. The configuration of PV and battery is optimized with the objectives of minimizing the annual expense and CO2 emissions. Based on real yearly load of a park, single-objective and multi-objective optimization results are compared, and a typical week has been selected for the scheduling study. Besides, a sensitivity analysis is made for the fluctuation of electricity price to explore the corresponding energy storage scale and performance changes. © 2023 IEEE.

Through the analysis of the islanding operation characteristics of wind turbines, the relationship between the power mismatch of wind turbine islanding operation and the voltage and frequency at the common connection points was revealed, and the power disturbance sensitivity was quantitatively analyzed. A comprehensive power island detection method was proposed, and the design of a comprehensive power disturbance island detection control loop for doubly-fed wind turbines was carried out. The method proposed in this paper has the characteristics of wider detection range, faster detection speed and higher reliability. The whole process of comprehensive power disturbance island detection of doubly-fed wind turbines is realized by MATLAB simulation, and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Malaria is a disease caused by the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitos. Symptoms of malaria are fever, vomiting, headache and in extreme cases, it may lead to death. In this research paper, we used patients' red blood cell images and deep learning techniques to build a machine-learning model for blood smear image classification. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is one of the deep learning methods which is used for image classification. The previous related works mostly used Support Vector Machine (SVM) for smear image classification which is quite complex. The pre-trained CNN extracts the infected and uninfected blood cell images. In this proposed method, we used deep learning combined with VGG to perform the classification of parasitized and uninfected blood smear cell images. To validate our proposed method, we used datasets from the NIH repository which consists of parasitized and uninfected cell images. In this research, our proposed approach achieved an accuracy of 96.02%. © 2023 IEEE.

This Paper focuses on the application of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) in analyzing, controlling, and comparing two models of multivariable PID controllers in the context of distillation columns. The PSO algorithm, frequently used in PID implementation, is based on heuristic approach and experience to deliver superior performance in the industry. However, for stability and interaction analysis, the Relative Gain Array and Niederlinski index are utilized respectively, for the multivariable "system first order plus time delay"systems. To prevent unfavorable interactions, a decoupled system and full matrix controller are created for one of these systems. The ultimate goal is to achieve the optimum outcome possible through the use of PSO and other analysis methods. © 2023 IEEE.

The proposed work is carried out on retrieving the content of an image using machine learning based approach. In order to gain a deeper insight of this topic, the current state-of-the-art image caption generation technique has been considered as the baseline. The goal of this work is to find a suitable Epoch value during the training phase which can maximize the performance of a system. The proposed model is composed of six major components: 1) Data pre-processing unit;2) Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) as an encoder;3) At-tention mechanism;4) Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) as a decoder;5) Beam search to find most optimal caption;and 6) Sentence Generation and evaluation. The model is trained to maximize the likelihood of the description sentence of a given training image. Experiments on the test dataset show the accuracy of the model and the fluency of the language it learns solely from image descriptions. The challenges of this work are mentioned in detail at the last of this paper. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper introduces discrete frequency-coding waveform (DFCW) sets that are based on phase-coded triangular frequency modulated (FM) waveforms. The DFCW sets are designed by discretizing the instantaneous frequencies of the triangular FM waveforms of varying slopes. The autocorrelation sidelobe peak and the cross-correlation peak vary as 1/N where N is the number of discrete frequencies. It is shown that adding a phase shift of π to one of the segments of the triangular FM based DFCW set doubles the number of codes in the set, without affecting the autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties of the set. This paper shows the design of such DFCW sets and describes their correlation, Doppler tolerance, and detection properties. These DFCW sets can be used in digital multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) radar and orthogonal netted radar (ONRS) systems. © 2023 IEEE.

With a continual rise in electricity prices, the integration of demand-side management (DSM) techniques such as peak load shifting and load behavior patterns with machine learning-based solutions has become a necessity in modern grid management. In this paper, using the Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC), the correlation between a synthesized dataset consisting of load consumption data from the national grid of Bangladesh, and meteorological data, such as maximum and minimum temperature has been calculated, which resulted in values of 0.84, 0.87 and 0.89, respectively. Next, the yearly load data have been clustered using a k-Means clustering algorithm, to find consumption patterns, and using the labels, temperature ranges are clustered to suggest temperature dependence, in accordance with consumption patterns. Finally, for every cluster, using a hypothetical set of percentages, a peak shaving, and load shifting algorithm has been implemented to show hypothetical approximates of load shifting potential for every year, which produced percentages 8.83, 9.07, and 8.79 for the years 2018, 2019 and 2021, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Small printed monopole antennas are presented in this paper. The types of antennas are three-arm and spiral monopole antennas. The antennas are fed by microstrip line and printed on FR4 dielectric substrate with a thickness of 0.8mm and a dielectric constant of 4.5. The proposed antennas provide good return losses, omni-directional radiation patterns, and good efficiency. The three-arm monopole provides three resonances at 1.8, 2.4, and 3.6GHz, and the spiral monopole provides two resonances 2, 3.6GHz. these antennas cover LTE,WLAN, 5G, and UMTS applications. The 3-D electromagnetic solver of CST® is used to simulate the antennas. Fabrication and measurement of the three-arm monopole has been done. The measured and simulated results agree very well. © 2023 IEEE.
