Colon cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer. Early diagnosis of colon cancer can lead to an increased chance of successful treatment with less cost. To speed up this process deep learning can provide very useful and effective approaches. In this thesis work, two types of models were developed to classify colon cells from image data - one is the transfer learning model where a deep network Inception V3 is used as the pre-trained model and the other one is an Ensembled model which combines predictions of three simple sequential CNN models. To develop these models, 10k images were used from the LC25000 dataset and a very small Warwick-QU dataset having only 165 images was used to provide new data for retraining and testing purposes. Both models achieved a high result for the first dataset with 99.4% and 99.95% accuracy respectively, where Inception V3 showed 94.545% accuracy on new data from Warwick-QU after retraining and Ensembled model showed 78.182% accuracy. This approach can be used in research in the field of early and effective detection of colon cancer with a larger amount of varying images and more preprocessing methods to reduce overfitting and to make the model perform well in various types of images. © 2023 IEEE.

France is one of the top-growing countries in the world and has a large amount of energy consumption. Nuclear energy is the major source of electricity production in France. Over the last two decades the contribution of renewable energy resources in electricity production has increased. Solar, wind and hydro are the major source of types of renewable electrical energy. The exponential growth of solar and wind energy over the past decade, contribution of hydroenergy in electricty production and other form renewable electrical energy like bioenergy, tidal energy and geothermal energy are discussed here. Statistical data of power generation capacity and electrical energy consumption, and description of some power plants are presented. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing use of electrical power in more electric aircraft yields new challenges in terms of modeling and analysis. The control and analysis of these systems require adequate modeling in time and frequency domains. In this paper, a dynamic average model for an aircraft generating system based on brushless synchronous generator (BLSG) is derived. The rectifier, connected to the main exciters, is modeled in all rectification modes based on the mathematical average modeling approach. Also, since it is typically not possible to directly measure the field current and its voltage in brushless generators, the unknown input extended kalman filter approach is suggested for estimation of generator's field current. The proposed model is finally validated through computer studies. © 2023 IEEE.

As the core equipment of the DC power transmission project, the operation status of the converter valve is the key to the safety and stability of the DC system. Existing assessment methods cannot accurately assess the health status of the converter valve in project operation. According to the independence of the function and structure of each component of the converter valve, this paper proposes a converter valve state evaluation method based on hierarchical grading fuzzy theory. The data used are various information characterizing the state of the converter valve, such as voltage, current, sound, image, and other data. According to hierarchical grading, the evaluation index system is constructed. Based on the fuzzy theory, the affiliation function is proposed, and the affiliation probability of four hierarchical states is output for the state evaluation results of the converter valve and its group components. Experiments show that the method improves the accuracy and practicability of converter valve evaluation in engineering sites. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The goal of this study is to present a novel strategy for improving the data privacy and security of distributed deep learning networks through the use of secure multi-party computation (SMPC). The approach in issue employs three key processes: privacy-preserving gradient descent (PPGD), secure aggregation (SA), and homomorphic encryption (HE). Several criteria are utilized to compare the efficacy of our proposed strategy to six industry-standard techniques, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, training time, computational complexity, memory utilization, scalability, resilience, and privacy protection. The findings show that our method surpasses standard strategies in terms of protecting private information and sensitive data while retaining competitive model accuracy and training efficiency. This paper offers a complete architecture for secure collaborative model training and underlines the need for privacy-preserving strategies in distributed deep learning. © 2023 IEEE.

In the operation of PMaSynRM, the generated torque ripple can lead to the production of acoustic noise and vibration. It is important to take this into consideration to minimize any potential negative effects on the systems, especially in electric vehicle applications. The study investigates the torque produced by a PMaSynRM and highlights the effect of geometry bifurcation on torque ripple and average torque. This paper presents a motor design with different bifurcation shapes of stators, such as the circle, triangle, and gear shapes, and the rotor, which can be trapezium or triangle-shaped. Eleven design patterns with different width and height were analyzed for each one, and the performance of the motor in different patterns were compared and the best one was selected based on the 2D finite element method FEM. The simulation results indicated that when the stator teeth notch is circular in shape and the rotor pole groove is trapezium-shaped, the electromagnetic torque is reduced by 5.27%, and the torque ripple is minimized by 63.58% compared to the base design. © 2023 IEEE.

Understanding how measurement noise influences sloshing dynamics is required to comprehend how it affects space vehicles in proximity operations. Despite researchers' interest in space vehicle dynamics in proximity operations, few studies have explored the implications of measurement noise on its dynamics. However, one key problem encountered is poor estimation of the system state variable, which leads to poor control of the system. As a result, this study attempts to solve this issue by offering a scheme for providing critical information on the optimal estimation of the unmeasured states of the fuel sloshing dynamics. The approach was primarily based on moving horizon estimator-based model predictive control. The results obtained demonstrated the efficiency of the moving-horizon estimator in estimating unmeasured state variables. Hence, when the effects of measurement noise are considered, the moving horizon estimator provides a good assessment of the unmeasured states in a proximity operation. © 2023 IEEE.

Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are widely used because of their high power density and fast dynamic response. Sensorless control technology can reduce the cost brought about by the use of sensors in motors and can improve the accuracy and reliability of system operation. This paper has developed an adaptive system (MRAS) based on vector control and non-building control of synchronous engines with permanent magnets. The method is modeled in Matlab/Simulink environment and the results of simulation analysis are derived. © 2023 IEEE.
