Axial flux motor has the advantages of short axial size, flat and compact structure, high efficiency and power density, and has a very broad application prospect in electric vehicle drive, wind power generation and other fields. In this paper, a drive motor for electric vehicles with a power of 25kW, rated voltage of 200V and rated speed of 3000rpm is designed by using the yokeless and segmented armature (YASA) disk structure. Some size formulas are given, and its output characteristics are analyzed. And then,the cogging torque is reduced by the method of the permanent magnet skewing pole and the stator shoe shifting. Finally, the finite element 3-D model and calculation are built by ANSYS. The results show that the electromagnetic scheme design is reasonable, and also verify the availability of the permanent magnet skewing pole and the stator shoe shifting to suppress the cogging torque, which has reference significance for the research of YASA motor. © 2023 SPIE.

With the development of subsurface scattering technology in recent years, skin rendering has also increased realism. However, as an important part of skin rendering, specular rendering now mostly still uses the K/S model based on Beckmann’s normal distribution function, which makes skin specular reflection always too concentrated, reducing the realism of rendering. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an improved normal distribution function: GGX-Improved based on the GGX normal distribution function. By introducing a parameter K into the GGX normal distribution function, it can realize the adjustment of the tail length of the K/S model specular reflection while ensuring the shape invariance, to make the skin specular reflection softer and more natural, which enhances the realism of the skin rendering. © 2023 SPIE.

High-precision sigma delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is widely used in fields such as high-precision sensors, precision instruments, and high-quality audio at present. A third-order discrete-time Σ-Δ (sigma-delta) modulator with feedforward, single-loop structure using multi-bit quantizer implemented in a 180 nm bipolar-cmos-dmos (BCD) process is proposed which can be applied in high-precision ADC. Dependent on the chopping technique, flicker noise and input offset of the op-amp in the first integrator are attenuated while data weighted average (DWA) technology is used to improve nonlinear problems caused by multi bit feedback digital-to-analog convertor (DAC). The signal bandwidth is 5 kHz, the sampling frequency is 1.25 MHz, the supply voltage is 1.8 V, and the simulation results show that this modulator achieves a signal-to-noise distortion ratio (SNDR) of 115.22 dB and an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 18.85 bits, with a power consumption of 3.41 mW, and the Schreier’s figure of merit (FoMs) of 176.9 dB. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Breast cancer (BC) is a common cancer affecting women everywhere in world. Mammography is identified and efficient technique to detect primary BC. The aim of project is for detect BC on mammogram in order to categorize disease by image processing when comparing with a previous technique. Through utilizing conventional methods, it creates it complex for radiology to detect cancer from patient's breast. In addition, there are environmental disturbances and technical problems if using the old method. Image processing techniques was separated to numerous elements. The elements are input, pre-processing, segmentation, morphological, object classification and classification. First pre-processing was done through Weiner and Median filter. Then, thresholding method on segmentation and finally, morphological will eliminate limitations at a segmentation. The image classified into 2 classes like normal and tumor. Both type of images analyzed based on elements. Additionally, it comprises a building of Graphical User Interface (GUI) which is utilized to generate the system as user-friendly. The developed model attain accuracy of 93.71 %, specificity of 82.53 % sensitivity of 94.36% for tumorous images. © 2023 IEEE.

In clinical practice, deep learning models commonly encounter performance degradation in actual applications, mainly due to domain shifts caused by heterogeneity from various sources such as scanners, stains, and medical sites. To address this issue, we examine the single-source domain generalization problem - developing a deep network that can withstand unseen domains, using training data from only one source domain. Our solution involves a novel domain-invariant feature learning model, integrating attention normalization and style enhancement modules at shallow layers of the network while exploring the optimal combination strategy in the convolution block. Furthermore, we use color transformation technology to randomly convert images to produce images with different color distributions to eliminate the effects of stains. The experiments demonstrate that our proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art performance in pathological classification tasks and can be extended to unseen domains. © 2023 SPIE.

In this work, a predictive method for planning the cleaning of photovoltaic (PV) plants is proposed, especially for desert areas where dust and sand are frequently observed. A dataset of visual images of PV modules was collected and used. It consisted of three classes (clean, dust accumulation, and sand deposit on PV modules). The Edge impulse platform has been used to develop the classifier, and based on the predicted class, we can determine the cleaning period (daily, weekly, or monthly) and type of cleaning process. Subsequently, the model was quantized and implemented into a low-cost microcontroller (Nano BLE Sense). To assist the user in making a decision regarding the cleaning plan, the obtained classification results were posted on a platform (Arduino IoT cloud) using a low-cost WiFi module (ESP8266). Co-simulation and experimental tests demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method, and the outdoor test was held in the Sahara region of Algeria. © 2024 IEEE.

With the continuous progress of semiconductor technology, the size of transistors has reduced, and the sensitivity of logic circuits to soft errors caused by radiation has enhanced. The multiple-node upset caused by radiation has affected the reliability of the circuit. This paper proposes a triple-node upset (TNU) self-recovery latch based on the Schmidt trigger (ST) for radiation hardness. The feedback loop is formed by connecting C-elements (CEs) and STs. Using the error filtering mechanism of CE and the hysteresis effect of ST is to realize the reliability of STTSRL. Under the 22 nm PTM process in HSPICE simulation, the STTSRL latch has TNU self-recoverability. Compared with the average value of the same recoverability latch proposed previously, the power consumption, delay, area, number of transistors, and PDAP are reduced by 44.85%, 53.32%, 40.34%, 19.24%, and 83.54%, respectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Along with the boom in data rights and the increasing number of responses to protect data privacy, scholars have begun to study the "data isolation" phenomenon while ensuring data privacy and security. Users upload source data to a high computing power cloud server for centralised training required by traditional machine learning algorithms, which leads to uncontrolled data theft and sensitive data leakage problems. By removing data barriers and collaborating on modelling utilizing data from several clients, federated learning has become a successful remedy for this issue. In this presentation, the history of federated learning is discussed, federated learning's precise defining categories is clarified, and its technological evolution is examined. How well training frameworks for federated learning, including the FedAvg, MOON, and Fedprox algorithms perform is assessed too. Finally, the current problems of federated learning algorithms and the future directions of development are also illustrated objectively. © 2023 SPIE.

The purpose of the power system is to give continuous supply of power to its users in any situation. In this work, various types of faults and their analysis by various techniques are discussed. Fault analysis and the fault current techniques would be discussed and that will show how these techniques are selected. The selection of the current-limiting technique plays a vital role during the faults as the reliability is required. Fault current limiters in power systems are widely used in order to limit the fault currents during faulty situations and make sure there is a continuous supply of power to the consumers. Magnetic properties of superconductivity fault current limiter techniques are considered in the analysis. Solid-State Fault Current Limiters (SSFCLs): This technique is used for setting a level of current which is desired in order to minimize the existing settings of protection. Internal meshing is a commonly used mode of meshing between gears. In this paper, we focus on the parametric modeling method for spur gears in Creo 2.0 and how it can be used to design corresponding gear and gear ring systems. The Abaqus 2020 software was utilized to perform finite element simulation experiments on the internal gear-ring system under specified working conditions, allowing us to obtain detailed information on the stress and strain distribution within the *** parametric modeling method used in this study involves the use of advanced mathematical algorithms to create a digital representation of the gear's geometry, including its teeth profile, root diameter, pitch diameter, and other critical parameters. This digital representation is then used to generate a virtual model of the gear and its associated components, such as the gear *** using the Abaqus 2020 software, we were able to simulate the internal meshing of the gear and its associated components under a range of different operating conditions, including high loads, high speeds, and high temperatures. These simulations allowed us to evaluate the performance of the internal gear-ring system under real-world conditions and identify any potential weaknesses or areas for improvement. © 2023 SPIE.
