The Advanced Head-light control System (AHCS) seeks to automatically change the vehicle's headlamp beam in horizontal direction to as fully illuminate the curving road is possible without upsetting other motorists. Here, the steering wheel serves as the foundation of our suggested solution for the horizontal headlamp adjustment. The mechanism makes, advantage of the two lights. There are two lights: one for the far-reaching beam and the other for the nearby beam. When the car is traveling below the limit of speed, the lower light (for low beam light) is going to be on, and when it is traveling beyond the threshold speed, the upper light (for high beam light) is going to be on. The threshold figure that we used was 50 Kmph. The microcontroller receives an output from the steering wheel, and depending on whether the wheel is turning to the right or left, it drives the headlight in that direction. On the DC motor, the headlight is mounted. During the conceptualization stage, a few factors included the components' accuracy, dependability, and availability. © 2023 IEEE.

The project attempts to make it easier for persons who are blind or hard of hearing to navigate and get around barriers. The Smart Walking Stick used in the research is based on an ultrasonic sensor. A buzzer is used to inform those who are blind or visually handicapped, and a vibration motor is positioned at the stick's holding position to alert those who are deaf or hard of hearing. An ultrasonic sensor module, model HCSR04, is used to find out hurdles in the way. The device uses an ultrasonic sensor to measure the separation between the object and the walking stick and if the distance is within the coded distance in the Arduino microcontroller, an alert message will be given in the form of buzzer sound and also by the vibration motor moreover a notification will be sent to the respective devices during abnormal situations. The GPS and GSM module is also enclosed in the stick to provide the location of the person to the precoded mobile number during any emergency situations. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamic event-triggered sliding mode control of networked switched systems with imperfect transmissions

As a significant type of dynamic systems, switched systems have been successfully applied to the construction of many engineering fields. Recently, the studies of networked switched control systems have received a lot of attention. However, the intervention of the network often causes the delay or packet loss during data transmission, resulting in incomplete data transmission. The paper studies a sliding mode observer design for above-mentioned systems with external disturbance under an imperfect transmission communication link. By constructing a dynamic event generator, a dynamic event-triggered mechanism between the event-generator and controller is developed to save additional network bandwidth and improve system performance. A desirable sliding surface function is built to solve the complexity of system analysis problems caused by network-induced delay and packet-dropout-induced imperfect transmission. Then, a corresponding event-based integral-type sliding mode observer is constructed to estimate inaccessible system states, guaranteeing the reachability of the sliding surface. Based on the augmented system dynamics, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee exponent stability with a weighted & Laplacetrf;2$$ {\mathcal{L}}_2 $$-& Laplacetrf;infinity$$ {\mathcal{L}}_{\infty } $$ performance level. Finally, two simulations are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

In instances, the sensors are incapable of detecting an accident. intelligent phone sensors are a great alternative because of their dependability and availability. The study involves creating a smartphone application that continually reads sensor data and sends it to the cloud. The crash is discovered by threshold analysis. The critical novelty of this research is creating a scheme that alerts nearby hospitals and ambulances when an accident occurs. The system will have more minor inaccuracies, precisely identify accidents, and perform better than earlier techniques using four sensory inputs. A novel framework designed by MMS-UNet and DK-SAC for the smart systems of the traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing

The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry is constantly exploring the application of service-oriented smart manufacturing (SoSM) systems to meet the requirements of Pharmaceutical 4.0. However, traditional manufacturing systems cannot achieve online detection and self-adaptive control (SAC) of critical quality attributes (CQAs), which plays an important role in the interaction between the physical and service worlds in the SoSM. Therefore, we propose the multi-modal similarity UNet (MMS-UNet) to collect features from multi-spectra data fusion, particularly focusing on the online CQAs data acquisition task. To achieve more accurate detection, we encoded spectral data as images using segmented Gramian angular fields (SGAF). The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method: it achieves higher detection accuracy and stability, as indicated by the mean absolute error (MAE). Additionally, based on the rapid CQAs data, we designed a data-knowledge hybrid driven SAC (DK-SAC) framework to improve quality and batch consistency in TCM. By addressing the specific challenges of Xiao'er Xiaoji Zhike Oral Liquid (XXZOL), the research aims to promote process optimisation and intelligent control in the pharmaceutical industry. The proposed framework is expected to fill the data exchange gap in SoSM systems and reduce regulatory risks in the pharmaceutical industry.

Underground space development has significantly increased the depth, scale, and complexity of foundation pit engineering. However, monitoring systems lack mechanical analysis models and fail to predict and control construction risks. Additionally, the foundation pit model could not be updated based on on-site observed data, leading to inaccurate predictions. This study proposes a DT modeling framework for foundation pits, which is used to simulate, predict, and control the risks associated with the entire excavation process. Consequently, based on the DT modeling framework, a DT foundation pit model (DTFPM) was established using modeling and updating algorithms. This study summarizes and identifies the key modeling parameters of foundation pits. A parametric modeling algorithm based on ABAQUS (v2020) was developed to drive the excavation pit modeling process within seconds. Furthermore, an inverse analysis optimization algorithm based on genetic algorithms (GA) and real-time observed deformation was employed to update the elastic modulus of the soil. The algorithm supports parallel computing and can converge within 10 generations. The prediction error of the model after inverse analysis can be reduced to within 10%. Finally, the authors applied DTFPM to establish an intelligent monitoring system. The focus is on real-time and predictive warnings based on the monitoring deformation of the current construction step and the updated model. This study analyzes a Beijing project case to verify the effectiveness of the system, demonstrating the practical application of the proposed method. The results showed that the DTFPM could accurately simulate the deformation behavior of the foundation pit. The system could provide more timely and accurate safety warnings. The proposed method can potentially contribute to the intelligent construction of foundation pits in the future, both theoretically and practically.

What Is the Best Solution for Smart Buildings? A Case Study of Fog, Edge computing and Smart IoT Devices

This paper presents a case study of Fog computing, Edge computing (EC) and intelligent EC applied to Smart Buildings, focusing on the deployment of innovative services and smart IoT devices, discussing new architecture as Software-Defined Network (SDN). Specifically, a comprehensive solution of a Smart Building case is proposed to validate main statements and conclusions are drawn, providing a general guideline to address the problems of choosing between Edge or Fog computing and the specific category of IoT devices. The methodology employed in this study is based on field research conducted in buildings within the metropolitan region of S & atilde;o Paulo, Brazil, that aim to enable their transformation into Smart Buildings (SBs). Moreover, principles of Electronic systems engineering and Cloud computing such as reliability, scalability and security are applied. In that way, this study integrates advanced multimedia technical services to enhancing security and communication within the SBs through centralized control. The method focuses on identifying and analyzing the most common problems observed in field research within SBs in early stages of development, prior to the intensive implementation of IoT devices and Fog or Edge computing technologies on the state of the art. The research adopts a comparative approach, investigating the best solutions for each application category. The results are consolidated in a main table within the article, correlating solutions to the four main problems identified in the field research, such as impairments in voice over IP and video communication using IoT devices;latency and delays in communication between SBs and the Cloud center;access security issues;and the Quality of Experience of video over IP communication, both in live transmissions and recordings between SBs.
