Vision-based systems provide non-contact sensory input for processing and feedback, expanding the capabilities of industrial automation applications. Prediction using ANNs aids such conformities in navigating nonlinear computational landscapes. They map the plethora of potential outcomes or zones of uncertainty introduced by the system’s constituents onto a set of feasible options for action. A measure of intelligence is transferred to robotic systems through the use of trained networks. Two uses of machine vision are presented here. The 3 DOF robotic assembly enables precision cutting of fragile materials with the help of visual guiding and pixel elimination. The 6-degrees-of-freedom robot uses a combination of visual feedback from an onboard camera and supervision from an external camera to achieve its goals. Pick-and-place operations are executed with a switching control method. Both systems improved in terms of computing time and convergence once ANN was used to make the strategies intelligent. The retrieved scene image features are put to use by the networks in a variety of ways. The simulation and experimental results that back up the suggested approaches demonstrates the value of artificial neural network in machine vision applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

An online intelligent detection method for slurry density in concept drift data streams based on collaborative computing

In industrial environments, slurry density detection models often suffer from performance degradation due to concept drift. To address this, this article proposes an intelligent detection method tailored for slurry density in concept drift data streams. The method begins by building a model using Gaussian process regression (GPR) combined with regularized stochastic configuration. A sliding window-based online GPR is then applied to update the linear model’s parameters, while a forgetting mechanism enables online recursive updates for the nonlinear model. Network pruning and stochastic configuration techniques dynamically adjust the nonlinear model’s structure. These approaches enhance the mechanistic model’s ability to capture dynamic relationships and reduce the data-driven model’s reliance on outdated data. By focusing on recent data to reflect current operating conditions, the method effectively mitigates concept drift in complex process data. Additionally, the method is applied in industrial settings through collaborative computing, ensuring real-time slurry density detection and model adaptability. Experimental results on industrial data show that the proposed method outperforms other algorithms in all density estimation metrics, significantly improving slurry density detection accuracy. This study explores Blockchain technology in the global financial industry using trends analysis, bibliometric analysis, and a literature appraisal using Elsevier Scopus data from 2016 to 2023. The Blockchain in Finance (BCF) study produced 185 publications: 53.5% papers, 45.4% conference proceedings, and 1.1% reviews. Analysis of the subject area revealed three important Computer Science, engineering, and Decision Sciences articles. However, source title analysis showed that ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, Sustainability Switzerland, and E3S Web of Conferences publish BCF research most often. According to the stakeholders study, Jon M. Truby and Qatar University (Qatar) are the top BCFin researchers and affiliations with 4% and % publications, respectively. China produces the most research on the topic. Due to active support from funding sources like the Chinese National Natural Science Foundation (NNSF), 18 publications have been funded. Co-occurrence of keywords The investigation indicated that BCFin’s top keywords include Blockchain, Finance, and Supply Chain Finance. Three clusters with 4–8 keywords, 132 linkages, and 866 TLS were found via cluster analysis. Keywords classify the clusters as Integrated business Solutions (Cluster 1), Digital Commerce Infrastructure (Cluster 2), and Decentralized Financial Network (Cluster 3). The findings indicate that BCFin is a dynamic and influential multidisciplinary study field. BCFin has transformed the global financial sector by improving trust, transaction security, and communication. With the increasing energy demand, accurate forecasting of energy production and consumption has become critically important for strategic planning in energy systems. To address the limitations of traditional forecasting models in adapting to the sparsity, nonlinearity, and volatility characteristics of clean energy data, this study proposes a structurally adaptive grey Euler model SDHGEM(1,1) based on the Hausdorff fractional-order cumulative generation operator. By incorporating nonlinear dynamic structural terms and periodic fluctuation components into the grey Euler model framework, and synchronously optimizing model parameters through a differential evolution algorithm, the model demonstrates dynamic adaptability to complex energy system features. Theoretical derivations establish parameter perturbation boundary conditions, while a robustness verification framework is constructed through Monte Carlo simulations combined with probability density analysis. Empirical studies employing three typical energy datasets - hydropower generation, nuclear power production, and natural gas consumption - reveal through comparative experiments that the SDHGEM(1,1) model outperforms eight benchmark models, achieving mean absolute percentage errors (MAPE) of 1.3929 %, 4.8783 %, and 1.91966 % respectively. These results demonstrate the model's enhanced predictive capability and adaptability, establishing it as an effective solution for forecasting energy data.

Robots that operate underwater (underwater robots) replace humans in searching for victims, weapons, and evidence in criminal cases… Normally, robots move underwater thanks to the Human control from a shore station, however, when detecting a suspected object as a search target, the robot needs to stabilize in one position to observe and salvage the object.
