Clustering has been extensively researched in the areas of data mining and machine learning. It focuses on identifying the underlying specific structure of each cluster using the provided set of data. Although clustering algorithms show promising performance in a number of applications, the majority of them now in use are unable to handle clustering tasks with the incomplete functionality that are frequently encountered in real world applications. When we think about applications in the real world, measurement mistakes, human error, device failure, and other unreliable elements can all lead to incompleteness and ambiguity in the data. We suggest improved approaches for imputation prior to clustering to address this problem. To assess the effectiveness of the suggested strategies, we carried out an experimental investigation on five UCI benchmark datasets. The outcomes amply proved our effectiveness. © 2023 IEEE.

The phases of drug discovery and development, starting with drug design and moving through crucial clinical trials to clinical practice, are being revolutionized by machine learning techniques. A more sophisticated kind of learning is machine learning (ML), which may be used to identify patterns in the solutions to solve current problems and learn to solve unsolved problems in future. Following the pre-processing of the necessary data, the objective is to learn from the data and identify patterns. The results can then be obtained by applying the patterns found to a different dataset. In general, when using larger, more agile data samples on high-dimensional datasets, ML algorithms can make predictions that are more accurate. Along with the rapid development of bioinformatics, there has been a significant global evolution in drug discovery and design technologies over the past ten years. Various artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) methodologies have been used in drug discovery and design, leading to changes in all of their stages, including the time-consuming drug-target interaction (DTI) prediction and medicines and compounds discrimination. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of things (IoT) is mainly an infrastructure in millions of computers and sensors that produce massive amounts of information. computing paradigms are required near the edge devices due to latency, bandwidth, and storage constraints. Fog computing (FC) is a more sophisticated form of cloud computing, and it gives the end-users access to some of its features. FC offers end-users with processing, storage, and network resources as part of the IoT. One of the primary issues with FC is authentication and safe data access between fog servers and fog nodes, as well as fog nodes and IoT users. This research presents a technique for safe information access and authentication between fog and IoT end-users. Initial encryption is performed using SHA1 and AES algorithms. The homomorphic approach was utilized to provide additional data security in the first phase. Homomorphic encryption is a cryptographic approach that permits computations on encrypted data, avoiding the required to reveal the original message to intermediaries (servers) that are merely providing a service and not a data consumer. In this paper, an effective mutual authentication technique between cloud and fog is proposed. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated in terms of execution time. The technique is suitable for FC in an IoT setting, according to the performance and security studies. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Prediction of the probability of crime in any region is a serious problem, especially in developing countries. Several factors can influence the crime rate at any location. There have been no effective solutions or dedicated research studies on the increasing crime cases, especially among women. Thus, we have trained several machine learning algorithms and a neural network to come up with the best probability prediction model for different crime types. The data used was gathered from 50 districts in Madhya Pradesh, India. The trained models were evaluated based on their accuracy and f1-score in predicting the probability of different types of crimes. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of information technology, storage-computing devices are widely used in the information field. Most of storage-computing devices usually have to maintain their storage and computing performance by introducing data cache technology, such compromise put the storage-computing devices in the dilemma of being challenged by the risk of losing their cache data when the power loses accidentally. In order to prevent the cache data loss caused by the accidental power loss of the system, this paper designs a method to realize power loss data protection based on Non-volatile DIMM in domestic platform, Specifically, install the Non-volatile DIMM memory in the storage-computing devices, the BMC is used to trigger the curing preservation operation of the memory in the case of power loss .When the system is suddenly power off, under the endurance of the super-capacitor, the processing unit in non-volatile memory migrates the data in DRAM to NAND Flash for curing storage, this ensures that data will not lost even in the event of a sudden power loss,achieving the purpose of memory data non-volatile, ensuring the data security of the device. © 2023 SPIE.

Edge computing is an extension of IoT evolution and cloud computing technology development, which is closer to data sources and can provide low-latency and high-bandwidth service support to end users. In this paper, we propose a blockchain-enabled offloading method for edge computing to address the data silos and high latency of service delivery in the healthcare industry, using a cloud-edge-chain three-layer underlying architecture model to achieve a joint design of task offloading and blockchain updates to improve the quality of healthcare services, and blockchain technology to provide authentication for edge service nodes to improve system security, data traceability, and user identity management. The results show that compared with the traditional reinforcement learning Q-learning algorithm, the computational offloading method of the DRLO algorithm designed in this paper converges faster and can effectively reduce the total system processing latency under the same conditions, with a 26% reduction in system processing latency and a 9.2% increase in reward value. Meanwhile, with the change of local terminal computing resources, the algorithm proposed in this paper can still keep the total system latency at a low level.

In order to effectively manage and monitor traffic on the roads, intelligent technologies must be able to detect and tally the number of cars on the road. The technology may be used for controlling and monitoring traffic in both urban areas and on highways, especially in times of heavy congestion or bad weather. It has traditionally been accomplished using sensor data and the standard toolkit for image processing. Recently however, with the help of deep learning-based smart computer vision systems, this process has become highly scalable and dependable. For intelligent traffic monitoring and management of issues like traffic congestion, the information gathered from various surveillance cameras may be utilized to train models that can recognize and track on-road cars, even in low-light and blurry situations brought on by bad weather. Although they all aim to solve the same problem, vehicle identification algorithms all have to deal with one or two very distinct cases. Vehicle detection under haze, dust, sandstorms, snow, and rain, as well as daytime and nocturnal conditions, is the focus of this study. The suggested design is based on the CNN architecture as a starting point, but it adds a spatial pyramid pooling layer and removes several of the Batch Normalization levels. During training, the system achieved an average accuracy of 81% and was able to identify even the tiniest vehicles in the scene. © 2023 IEEE.

The escalating size of Machine Learning (ML) models in Natural Language processing (NLP) systems presents a challenge for researchers with limited computing resources. This assertion is substantiated by the current research landscape, where major industrial corporations dominate the State-of-The-Art (SoTA) NLP-ML model leaderboard. As substantial ML models entail high computing costs, an economical approach within this research domain is crucial. This paper aims to provide a literature review as a foundational analysis toward exploring the right direction in designing cost-effective or economical NLP-ML models, specifically for text data classification problem. Before delving into a domain-specific NLP-ML review, an introduction to ML algorithms is provided. This introductory section discusses an overview of the most common ML algorithms in recent years, along with the problem domains these algorithms attempt to address, with classification being one of those challenges. The review section comprises three interconnected yet independent subsections: ML for classification, ML for NLP, and the economics of NLP-ML models. Synthesizing information from these review subsections, the subsequent sections present a summary and a future direction. While the summary aims to provide a cohesive conclusion to the entire review, the future direction section includes an example case with a proposed methodology, illustrating where the economical ML model might be implemented. Collectively, these final sections provide a justified direction on how to design an economical NLP-ML classifier, with the hope that it becomes a basic guide for researchers interested in pursuing this field. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Although deep learning-based algorithms have achieved satisfactory classification performance, they require a large amount of annotated training data. To overcome this issue, we proposed an extremely-weak supervised learning algorithm for remote sensing (RS) classification tasks, which only requires several carefully chosen ground-feature sample labels as input. To be specific, our method consists of three subnetworks working in tandem and under the object-based framework. The first one produces pseudo labels by using two unsupervised autoencoders with shared weights, the second one attempts to optimize the pseudo labels through noisy learning and post-processing, and the third one involves running inference with a powerful residual network for labeling the unseen data. To the extent of our information, we are the first to introduce in the RS classification task the autoencoder and noisy learning modules, which minimized the data acquisition and human labeling efforts. Due to the space limitations, this article focuses only on the algorithms and theory of computation. Readers are referred to the companion piece for detailed case studies. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) real-time antenna array diagnosis method with remarkable reduction in measurements via smart sensing of electromagnetic (EM) with learnable data acquisition and processing. Previous techniques such as matrix inversion, exhaustive search, and genetic algorithm are generally time consuming in data acquisition, and/or require complex reconstruction algorithms for a successful data post-processing. This forces limitations on previous techniques, making them inefficient and ineffective for real time array diagnosis. Addressing these shortcomings, we introduce EM sensing by developing data-driven learnable data acquisition with the integration of a data-driven learned data processing pipeline. As a result, measurement technique is jointly learned with a matching post-processing, towards diagnostic operation, consequently giving us opportunity to conduct real-time and accurate antenna array diagnosis, with a remarkable reduction in measurements at low SNR. We illustrate the effectiveness of the developed method using an HFSS-based 10 × 10-array of waveguide in practical noise scenario. The results obtained show the efficiency of the developed approach, even at low SNR. © 2023 AEIT.
