Weld defects produced by welding will destroy the quality of products. The visual detection method of weld seam using artificial neural network has been applied in industry, but few researchers have established a method to measure the shape of weld seam. In this paper, a feasible scheme based on image processing and artificial neural network is proposed, which not only detects the location of weld defects, but also measures the geometric dimensions of welds. The effectiveness of the method was verified by testing on the self-built dataset and the average accuracy of the size measurement reached 95.9%. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a wideband microstrip array antenna based on millimeter-wave radar is proposed, to achieve strong anti-interference ability and high resolution for detecting the burden surface of blast furnaces. The antenna consists of a Chebyshev main radiation patch array and a button-shaped coplanar parasitic element array. The coplanar parasitic elements alter the coupling between antenna patches to widen the bandwidth. It improves the limitation of the angular resolution of the previous millimeter-wave array antenna due to the problem of insufficient bandwidth. Simulation results show that the -10 dB impedance bandwidth is 7.89 GHz and the antenna main gain reaches 13.92 dBi. The antenna is suitable for high-gain and high anti-interference millimeter-wave radar systems and has greatly reduced dimensions of approximately twenty millimeters, making it applicable for placement in the protective cabin of a blast furnace detection system. It has great potential for solving issues related to the impact of internal environments on blast furnace operations. © 2023 IEEE.

technology breakthroughs, changing perspectives, and more investment are all contributing to a significant alteration of the space domain, making it more accessible to a wider variety of organizations. The space sector faces a growing danger scenario as a result of the impending deployment of new satellite constellations, which will dramatically increase the population of in-orbit satellites. The goal of this essay is to clarify the motives and features of adversary operations against satellites by doing a detailed analysis of past satellite security threats and events. Although historical patterns suggest that ground and radio frequency communications are the most common targets, the growing constellations of satellites that are predicted to be launched in the next several years can shift attention to vulnerabilities in the space sector. Proactive steps are required to identify and minimize any hazards in light of this impending trend. Along with providing an overview of the current issues facing the satellite industry-particularly those pertaining to security and operational requirements-the article also explores significant technical breakthroughs. It is crucial to comprehend and tackle these concerns in order to guarantee the ongoing security and dependability of satellite systems inside this dynamic space environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Humans communicate most naturally and quickly through speech. Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) attempts to identify human emotions and affective states from speech. This capitalizes on voice tone and pitch, reflecting underlying emotion. The voice signal is a rich source of information and a powerful medium for communicating approach and eliciting emotions. Audio emotion recognition needs feature extraction and classifier training. The feature vector must contain audio signal elements that characterize speaker-specific properties, including tone, pitch, and energy, to train the classifier model to classify an emotion effectively. RAVDESS, an English language open source dataset of male and female acted speech corpus, is carefully trained and tested. We retrieved MFCC coefficients from training dataset audio samples to reflect speaker vocal tract information. Energy and MFCC coefficients of neutral, anger, fear, and sadness audio samples are measured. The classifier model receives extracted feature vectors. After extraction, the classifier will determine the test audio's emotion. Features and classifiers are needed for audio-based emotion identification. Tone, pitch, and energy are speaker-specific audio signal components in the feature vector. Training the classifier model to recognize an emotion requires these components. The RAVDESS [1] open-source English language training and testing dataset was separated correctly. This dataset contained male and female acted speech corpus contributions. We retrieved MFCC coefficients from training dataset audio samples to represent the speaker's vocal tract. We also extracted features from natural speech. We measured energy and MFCC coefficients of neutral, angry, fearful, and melancholy audio samples. The classifier model receives their extracted feature vectors. After extracting the dataset, the classifier will determine the emotion in the test audio. © 2023 IEEE.

The built-in permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) has been widely used in electric vehicles, aerospace, national defense, robotics, medical and other fields due to its high operating efficiency, high torque density and relatively stable running condition. Traditional IPMSM control strategy includes speed control of position sensor, magnetic field orientation control and so on. They have the limitations of increasing system cost and algorithm failure in case of sensor failure. In this paper, high-speed vacuum cleaner as the research object, aiming at the vacuum cleaner in high speed, sensorless drive motor high-speed operation ability, using sliding mode control and weak magnetic control strategy. A series of experiments and simulations are designed. The results show that the proposed sliding mode and magnetic weakening control strategies have good dynamic response and steady state response, and more accurate estimated position and estimated speed are obtained. The system has the advantages of strong robustness. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep neural networks have made significant improvements in pixel -level semantic segmentation. However, the existing semantic segmentation algorithm still faces the problem of weighing between the accuracy and calculation cost of the segmentation. In response to this issue, this article proposes a hybrid network structure (HAM), looking for a balance point in the calculation accuracy and calculation speed. In this method, we construct a dual -attention module. The role of this module is to guide high -level characteristics through underlying characteristics to obtain more context information. Among them, the shape flow branch retains low -level space details, and semantic flow branches capture senior context information. These two branches are fused to strengthen information dissemination between different levels, thereby achieving higher segmentation accuracy. Experiments on the dataset show that this method achieves higher accuracy and speed under relatively small parameters. Compared with other real-time semantic segmentation methods, our network has achieved good compromise between parameters, speed, and accuracy. © 2023 SPIE.

The rapid development of the Internet of Things makes it possible to analyze and make decisions on complex tasks in human society based on big data and artificial intelligence technologies. Intelligent healthcare is a part of it that is closely related to human beings. Traditional intelligent healthcare lacks mental health diagnosis and monitoring. The mental health diagnosis method relies on subjective decision-making and cannot achieve mental health diagnosis and early warning on a large scale. This paper combines artificial intelligence and low communication cost edge cloud solutions with intelligent healthcare. Also, the paper proposed an IoT-based mental health diagnosis solution with the help of sentiment analysis technology. The scheme targets current speech in various scenarios and relies on sentiment analysis technology to quantify emotions. Then, it cooperates with algorithms to achieve real-time monitoring and early warning of mental health conditions. The experimental part uses self-collected data as well as publicly available data. The experimental results show that the framework proposed in this paper accomplishes the tasks on multiple data sets. © 2023 IEEE.

Women have recently demonstrated time and time again that their contributions to science and technology are on par with those of males. Just a few famous female scientists include Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian woman scientist, Marie Curie, the only woman to receive the Nobel Prize, and Shakuntala Devi, a mathematical prodigy who can solve any challenging problem. This increased visibility of female voices in science is exciting, and women are seeking jobs in it at rates never previously seen. Nonetheless, we are aware that not all the issues affecting women have been resolved by the academic community. Recent research demonstrates that computers and technology have historically been the realm of men, providing them a physiological push that gives them confidence and the chance to become more tech savvy while leaving women behind. Due to gender inequalities, which discourage more women from choosing engineering or STEM as a career, women in the STEM area also confront several hurdles. According to studies, the count of women has been reduced in STEM fields due to a lack of support, a lack of role models, low pay, workplace sexism, a lack of diversity within the organisation, self-doubt (imposter syndrome), and the need to balance work and personal obligations. The significance of women in the sciences and the obstacles to their growth are emphasised in this collection of writing. © 2023 IEEE.

Via wireless sensor network (WSN), data are collected through secure links to backend database. To ensure data security and privacy during data aggregation in WSN, key pre-distribution (KP) is often used to establish secure links between two neighbor nodes in WSN. Most KPs deal with resiliency against node capture attack (NA) and the link connectivity. For further enhancing resiliency, hash chain based KP (HCKP) scheme is proposed. Recently, the notion of advanced NA (ANA) is introduced, on which HCKP schemes are compromised. The diagonal layer based HCKP (DL-HCKP) is accordingly proposed to resist ANA. However, its hash function should be commutative. In this paper, we use common hash functions (e.g., SHA-like functions) instead of commutative function to propose the bidirectional HCKP (BI-HCKP) to achieve more practicability and applicability. Our BI-HCKP still has ANA resiliency, and moreover improves ANA resiliency and provides the adaptive resiliency on NA and ANA. © 2023 IEEE.
