Along with technology advancements, implementing digital signal processing has become easier through digital circuit design automation. However, an analog circuit has too many obstacles to adopt a design automation flow in a scaled-down technology due to the relatively increased PVT (process-voltage-temperature) variations and enlarged mismatch errors, thus requiring a careful full-custom analog circuit design or employing an intensive back-end digital calibration engine. In this study, we implement an analog circuit design flow that quickly finds the optimal design point enabled by a high-level simulator programmed in Ocean scripts with a machine learning algorithm. To reduce the analog design effort, we train an ANN regression model that predicts the top-performing candidates with reasonable SPICE simulations in a supervised learning process. Here, we aimed to design a ring oscillator in the 65nm CMOS process. By using the proposed analog design automation strategy, we focused on jitter-power figure-of-merit (FOMJ) optimization, resulting in 99.84% accuracy of the final performance in comparison with SPICE simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

In today's contemporary society, we have access to advanced systems and technologies designed to fulfill our fun-damental requirements, with the Internet of Things (IoT) being a prominent example. However, it's essential to recognize that individuals with physical challenges or disabilities often require additional support and innovative assistive devices. Among these individuals, those with visual impairments have unique needs, as they often rely on external assistance for various daily activities, including managing household appliances such as lights and fans. To address these challenges, there is a growing need for solutions that empower visually impaired individuals to control essential electrical appliances within their homes autonomously. In this work, a system for mobility-impaired people is designed to manage electrical appliances using an Android Mobile application on a smartphone or tablet with voice control using IoT. The prototype is a low-cost model designed using components like an Ultrasonic sensor, OLED module, and Smartphone for Android app. Personal support with built-in Google platform embedded in ESP8266-based Node MCU development board and integrated Sinric Pro applications excess for distant monitoring capability. This could be implemented in any home automation for the mobility impaired. © 2023 IEEE.

Classroom action recognition is a hot research in educational teaching environment combined with artificial intelligence technology, through which action recognition can quantify students' concentration in classroom. In this study, we propose an advanced 3D and 2D branching fusion action recognition model for recognizing students' actions in the classroom environment. The experimental results show that the classroom action recognition model has high accuracy and speed, and can accurately and quickly identify specific high-frequency classroom actions, which can then be effectively used for students' classroom concentration analysis. Accurate identification of students' classroom actions and quantification of their classroom attention can not only provide reference for teachers of relevant courses, but also provide data support for teaching quality assessment at school level, ultimately helping to improve the quality of classroom teaching. © 2023 SPIE.

Enabling everyday objects to collect, exchange, and analyze data, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology paradigm that has the potential to revolutionize industries through data-driven decision-making, automation, and efficiency. IoT's fundamental principles and applications are succinctly summarized in this abstract, with emphasis on its role as a catalyst for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Its ubiquity in various domains, such as smart homes and industrial automation, highlights its importance in shaping our interconnected world. With this in mind, we are encouraged to explore the vast opportunities and challenges presented by the IoT ecosystem. In industrial, medical, and research environments utilizing radioactive materials, ensuring radiation safety and security is essential. An important measure in preventing harm to staff and surroundings is identifying and segregating radioactive metal objects. Introducing an innovative camera-based approach for augmenting the detection of such objects is the aim of this *** order to develop a reliable and real-time detection system, our suggested Radioactive Metal Detection Bin (RMDB) integrates cutting-edge camera systems with powerful image processing *** acquire pictures of items moving across the detecting region, the RMDB system places high-resolution cameras strategically. These cameras have specific sensors and filters that are made to find gamma radiation coming from radioactive metals. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper focuses on the field of emotional interaction, specifically using text data to evaluate expressed emotions. It aims to assess the emotional state of humans in order to determine how robots should adjust their behavior. To detect emotions in text data, various methods and algorithms can be utilized. In this study, the authors combine dictionary methods with machine learning algorithms for emotion detection. However, emotion labels are often vague and subjective, leading to a multi-label problem. To address this, the paper conducts experiments using naive Bayes, support vector machine, and neural network classifiers. Although the accuracy of emotion classification is low, the study demonstrates the importance of specific words in expressing emotions. © 2023 SPIE.

Virtual Laboratory provides flexibility and reduces the cost of traditional laboratory, integration of Augmented Reality in a virtual laboratory in the chance for aviation engineering learning such as Radar training. This study's purpose is to develop a virtual laboratory augmented reality-based to support radar training, by using prototyping dan the RAD method of the Radar Engineering Immersive Laboratory (REIL) built related to the international Civil Aviation Organization competency-based education framework. The architecture consists of a Learning Management System, Virtual Laboratory activity, and troubleshooting. The result shows the dynamic 3D depiction of each stage of the learning process in the REIL program ensuring student learning enjoyment and ease. © 2023 IEEE.

Inspired by the human visual system, we proposed a motion information-based enhancement mechanism for drone detection, named Collaborative Filtering Mechanism (CFM). CFM enhances small object features through GAN-based image translation which is based on a Cycle Generative Adversarial Network (CycleGAN), and filters out unrelated features during the feature extraction cascade of YOLO-V5s, thus improving the performance of object detection. In the experiments, we verified the performance improvement brought by the proposed CFM module on the VisDrone dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

In the practical application of EV wireless charging, there is always an objective deviation between the transmitting and receiving coils of the system, and the deviation has randomness and uncertainty. Therefore, when designing the coupling mechanism, it is necessary to consider maintaining a large coupling coefficient even at large offset positions. It is proposed that the transmitter coil adopts the structure of inner and outer coaxial double coils, analyzes the magnetic field distribution and the variation of mutual inductance and coupling coefficient when offset by finite element simulation, and analyzes the influence of multiple parameters on the anti-offset ability by using the Control variates. On this basis, the design and optimization process of the coupling mechanism is proposed. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the difficulty of good control of LLC resonant converter in lithium battery chemical composition equipment, the sliding mode controller is designed by combining particle swarm algorithm. The traditional PI controller has overshoot phenomenon, and the sliding mode control parameters are difficult to select the optimal value, so combined with the particle swarm algorithm, the function of the controller output and system following error is selected as the target of sliding mode controller parameter optimization, and the appropriate parameters are selected to reduce the recovery time and dithering phenomenon. Simulation experiments show that this method has certain advantages over traditional PI controllers and sliding mode controllers. © 2023 SPIE.

A Dubins-car like robot travels within an area in which an unknown scalar field exists. Only sensors that measure the field value at the current location are available. We present a biologically inspired navigation law that drives the robot to the set of the field maximizers and if they constitute a whole curve, also endows the robot with the capacity of tracking this curve. These are justified by mathematically rigorous non-local convergence results and are confirmed via computer simulations. The proposed algorithm does not use gradient estimation and is non-demanding with respect to computation and motion. © 2023 IEEE.
