Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network is a crucial component of the Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network (SAGIN) architecture and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN). It can provide global, real-time, and seamless broadband data services to many users, playing a critical role in emergencies such as disaster relief. This paper proposes an LEO satellite networks satellite-ground link handover strategy based on Advantage Actor-Critic (A2C) to tackle challenges associated with high handover frequency among ground users, data transmission blocking, and access selection post-handover due to the high-speed cyclic motion of satellites. The strategy considers three handover factors: signal reception strength, satellite potential service time, and service quality. At first, the handover problem is modeled as a combinatorial optimization problem, subsequently transformed into a Markovian Action-Value Function (MAVF) based Multi-Agent Markov Decision Process (MAMDP), and solved in the framework of the A2C algorithm proposed in this paper. The results of simulations illustrate the superior performance of the proposed handover strategy compared to three alternative strategies, namely, Random Handover (RH), Maximum number of Free Channels (MFC), and Maximum Service Time (MST), in terms of both convergence and practicality. The average number of handover occurrences can be reduced by up to 58%, consequently lowering the probability of blocking data transmission. Moreover, signal quality exhibits more excellent stability and can be enhanced by up to 39%, thereby ensuring user communication quality. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2025.

As robotic technologies advance, robotic arm manipulation tasks in complex environments become increasingly important. This paper presents a new collaborative pushing and grasping strategy to address two major challenges robotic arms encounter in complex environments: invisibility and tight enclosure of target objects. We propose a generator-evaluator network architecture based on multiple action primitives, incorporating hierarchical reinforcement learning and Double DQN techniques to optimize the operational efficiency of the robotic arm. By introducing a new action primitive to prioritize pushing operations around the topmost objects in space, our approach effectively reveals and locates obscured target objects. Additionally, utilizing the Spatial Correlation Test (SCT), our method explores all possible collision-free operational positions in the action space, selecting the optimal position from among them. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach achieves high efficiency and success rates in scenarios with randomly distributed objects, objects tightly enclosed by others, and invisible objects. This strategy enhances the speed and accuracy of tasks and improves the robot’s adaptability to complex environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

With the rapid developing technology of the Internet of Things, intelligent connected vehicles are facing more and more serious cybersecurity threats and challenges. With the developing of cybersecurity technology for intelligent connected vehicles it has posed a comprehensive challenge to the existing cybersecurity technologies. Intrusion detection is an important research field of cybersecurity. An intrusion detection scheme based on sequential tri-way decisions of multiple granularities (S3WD-MG) is proposed for Intelligent Connected Vehicles. The S3WD-MG method obtains feature sets of multi-granularities through the auto-encoder of deep learning. This method combines multiple granularities and sequential tri-way decisions to make decisions by the most appropriate for network behavior through by the decision threshold. The experiment results on NSL-KDD show that S3WD-MG method does have a good performance in intrusion detection. Compared with other models, our proposed S3WD-MG method has a higher detection’s rate and the robustness of algorithm is stronger. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

This paper introduces Zweistein, a dynamic programming evaluation function for Einstein Würfelt Nicht! (EWN). In response to the burgeoning interest in Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communications and its pivotal role in enhancing road transportation efficiency and safety, this paper presents a novel scheme for the formation of vehicle platoons, addressing the critical need for realistic implementation strategies. Recognizing the limitations of existing research that often relies on idealized assumptions, this work proposes a platoon formation method utilizing the real-world dataset. The method combines the robustness of Random Forest algorithms for feature selection with the adaptability of Fuzzy K-Means (FKM) clustering to effectively group vehicles with similar characteristics into platoons. This approach ensures the consistency of speed and acceleration within platoons, a crucial aspect for maintaining platoon integrity and stability. Validated through the Kaggle dataset, the scheme not only showcases the feasibility of forming efficient vehicle platoons in realistic scenarios but also introduces a velocity and acceleration-based Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) strategy to prove the formatted platoon stability. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2025.

The crane tube is currently the main equipment used for refueling tank trucks, and the residual vibration at the end of the crane tube directly affects the accuracy of autonomous refueling. The vibration mechanism of the autonomous refueling crane is analyzed emphatically in this paper. Firstly, the dynamic model of the autonomous refueling crane for the tank truck is established based on the Lagrangian method. Secondly, the structure of the autonomous refueling crane model is simplified using Solidworks, and the complex structure is integrated. Finally, the vibration of the simplified autonomous refueling crane model is analyzed by finite element analysis using Ansys Workbench software. The simulation results show that there are two main reasons affecting the vibration at the end of the crane tube, that is, the sudden change of the input signal from the refueling will excite the low-order modal vibration of the autonomous refueling crane, and the external disturbance will also cause the vibration of the autonomous refueling crane. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Edge computing, which offloads data processing and analysis tasks to the edge of network, has gradually become a critical technology for handling large-scale data and providing low-latency services. Container technology is a lightweight, portable way of packaging software that is well suited to edge computing environments because it simplifies the deployment and management of applications while reducing the dependence on specific hardware. The synergistic use of container and edge computing has emerged as an ideal approach for achieving efficient and reliable service delivery. When a new container instance is deployed, the corresponding image must be downloaded from a remote image registry. However, edge nodes typically have limited storage resources, which means that storing a large number of images is not feasible. In edge environments with limited network resources, downloading the required images significantly increases container startup time, affecting the quality of service. Current research often focuses on container startup and image distribution, but frequently overlooks the management of storage space for images at edge nodes. We propose Image Cleaning method based on Minimum Layer Affinity (ICMLA), aiming to innovate strategies for managing images storage space in the edge computing environments. To evaluate the efficacy of the proposed method in this paper, a simulated cloud-edge cluster, designed to emulate a real-world operational setting, was established, and a series of comparative experiments were executed to assess performance. Experimental results show that, compared with the typical image replacement algorithms, ICMLA can reduce the total Pods startup time by 13.31% and increase the hit count by 56.67% at most. © 2025 SPIE.
