In the past two decades, Piecewise Linear Approximation under maximum error (max-error) bound (PLA∞) has been intensively studied for effective qualified representation and analysis of time series data. It divides a time series into fragments and then represents each fragment with a straight line to approximate the data points of that time slot. In this paper, to elevate the representation quality in the optimal PLA∞ results, we present a linear-time algorithm FindMin to construct the unique line representative of minimized maximum error (min-max error) for each fragment. Through extended experimental tests, we demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is very efficient in execution and achieves better performances than the state-of-the-art solutions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Quadratic programming methods have been widely used to solve the redundancy problem of control manipulators due to their ability to optimize performance indicators under physical constraints. However, conventional quadratic programming methods require known parameters. In practical work environments, the physical parameters of the manipulator can be uncertain. Therefore, an adaptive control method that can synchronize parameter identification and network control is necessary. We propose an adaptive varying parameter projection neural network method that begins from the perspective of joint velocity space. This method decouples the unknown parameters and nonlinear parts that require identification in the Jacobian matrix of the manipulator. For the first time, a projection network with varying parameters is introduced for redundant decomposition, greatly improving the accuracy of trajectory tracking. Additionally, we design an iterative identification equation based on neural dynamics and introduce position feedback, making Jacobian matrix identification more accurate. The proposed method can solve the problem of redundant resolution of robotic arms under actual physical constraints and unknown physical parameters and can improve performance indicators. Handwritten signature verification (HSV) models are notably recognized for their ability to discern whether a signature is forged in an offline document. Recently, HSV technology has made significant development. However, these methods have primarily focused on the shape features of the text image and overlooked the textual feature information inherent in the text itself, which makes the HSV model overfit. In this paper, we propose a novel network model named OCR4HSV to solve the above shortcomings. The proposed OCR4HSV first attempts to combine OCR and HSV to learn textual features in a multi-task learning manner. The model employs a dual-parameter approach, combining shared parameters and independent parameters. Specifically, Within the shared parameters, the Laplace attention module (LAM) is incorporated for edge information extraction. For independent parameters, CN-Mamba is utilized for sequence feature extraction in OCR, and the multi-scale global fusion block (MGFB) is designed to enhance the distinction between reference and test sample pairs. Leveraging OCR-related information and these architectural enhancements can fully mine the inherent textual feature information and significantly mitigate overfitting in the HSV task, thereby boosting verification accuracy. Atmospheric duct (AD) is a natural phenomenon affected by humidity or air pressure diversities, which impacts the propagation of electromagnetic signals. Recent studies have been focused on ADH prediction based on meteorological data which makes the task of real-time ADH prediction challenging and impacts the global representation of ADs leading to maritime communications security issues. We address these issues by discovering a novel way to abstract the spatial and temporal features from the historical data. Thus, we proposed a framework based on DNN models and attention mechanisms to predict the ADH in a real-time form from the abstracted features. Our experimental results demonstrate that our technique improves the performance of real-time prediction and reduces the acquisition cost, professional devices can receive it in real-time through IoT to avoid dangerous areas. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

With the continuous evolution of cloud computing technology, the memory requirements of cloud servers are increasing. Insufficient memory has become the performance bottleneck of many applications. Memory disaggregation has been proposed to solve this problem, which enables computing nodes to utilize the memory of remote memory nodes, thus not only effectively extending the capacity of logical memory, but also significantly improving the resource utilization and elasticity of the whole cluster, providing a more flexible resource allocation scheme for large-scale parallel computing and data processing. However, most of the existing memory disaggregation systems require modification of hardware, operating systems or applications, which are difficult to use. This paper proposes a high-performance memory disaggregation system SwiftSwap, which can directly access remote memory without any modification of hardware, operating system, or application. We design and implement a high performance cache, cache lookup algorithm LDA and cache elimination strategy RM_AwareLRU on the computing node to improve the performance of the system. Through comprehensive evaluation, SwiftSwap has up to 5.1× performance advantage in throughput, 4.8× performance advantage in tail delay, and 6.4× performance advantage against applications running in containers. © IFIP international Federation for Information Processing 2025.

With the increase of age, some elderly people's mobility problems have caused certain obstacles to daily life, so intelligent devices for helping the elderly are becoming more and more popular. The obstacle avoidance and tracking system of the elderly assistance intelligent car in this article adopts computer vision and multi-sensor fusion technology, which can achieve autonomous driving. The tracking module in the system consists of 5 TCRT5000 infrared detectors. The signal collected by the TCRT5000 infrared detector is amplified through an integrated circuit and sent to the microcontroller. The white and black lines are then determined to correspond to the five TCRT5000 infrared detectors, thereby determining the current position of the car. By adjusting the size of the resistance, an appropriate voltage can be obtained compared to the output signal. The minimum number of successful attempts in tracking and obstacle avoidance tests is 37, but overall it still maintains a high level and can meet basic needs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This paper gives a predictive intelligence-enhanced fuzzy version for underwater network optimization. It combines predictive intelligence technology with fuzzy common sense, which can lessen the functionality gap of underwater community optimization. This proposed version is implemented in an underwater cooperative tracking community. With the proposed model, objectives can be tracked with sensors within the network, and their national statistics can also be appropriately anticipated. Similarly, the version has excessive scalability and robustness because of the mixing of predictive intelligence. In the end, simulation experiments suggest that the proposed model correctly improves the precision of tracking challenges and improves the scalability of the network. The Predictive Intelligence superior Fuzzy model (PIE-FUZMO) for underwater network optimization is a singular method developed to cope with the complex optimization issues confronted through underwater networks. The realm of Smart Grid Systems (SGS) has witnessed unprecedented progress, driven by increasing energy demands and the integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES). While these grids promise enhanced efficiency and sustainability, their involved and dynamic nature poses significant optimization challenges. Existing solutions, although innovative, often overlook the intricate interplay between diverse factors, leaving room for potential improvements in optimization approaches. Recognizing this gap, the current study delves into developing a novel method that integrates Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) with domain-specific heuristics. By focusing on analytical sections like Load Forecasting, Renewable Energy Integration, Peak Shaving, and Grid Resilience, this method attempts to bridge the divide that existing approaches miss. The proposed method not only ensures optimal energy distribution but also tailors the solution to address the unique features and requirements of modern SGS.
