Internet of Things (IoT) devices possess limited resources, encompassing computing speed of microcontrollers, memory capacity, battery energy sources, and diverse computational requirements. The prevalent system architecture comprises two tiers, wherein IoT devices connect to the cloud to transmit data or receive commands, relying on a stable internet connection. However, in environments with restricted internet coverage and stability, this situation can become problematic, potentially leading to a reduction in Quality of Service (QoS). A viable solution to address this challenge involves the utilization of computation offloading techniques. This approach involves recognizing computation characteristics through specific rules, determining whether computations should take place at the IoT device layer, the edge computing layer, or within cloud computing. By implementing a multilayer three-tier scheme, the computation offloading process can be effectively optimized. Empirical testing conducted using the Pure Edge Sim simulator demonstrates that the amalgamation of IoT, Edge, and Cloud layers yields the most favorable outcomes for enhancing QoS. © 2023 IEEE.

The maritime industry has integrated a lot of automation in electronics since past few decades and will be investing more in upcoming years. This development has reduced a lot of manual work but has also introduced a lot of security vulnerabilities. As marine ships categorize as critical infrastructure, proper security measures must be taken to reduce the attack surface. This study focuses on a possible attack strategy using ethernet based network (IEC 61162-450) which could result into potential capsize of the ship. This study refers Furuno's device manuals for forming an overview of the internal network of the ship. The attack script utilizes User Datagram Protocol to send malicious data packets into the network;specifically, injects fake Global Positioning System coordinates to implement Global Positioning System spoofing attack on Electronic Chart Display and Information System. Post that, a mitigation strategy in form of a PowerShell script is proposed. The script implements features of threat hunting as it identifies and terminates malicious programs injecting data packets into the internal network. This study proposes to implement automated threat detection and response-based program to be implemented on all Information technology systems to reduce the impact of a possible intrusion by an external threat actor. © 2023 IEEE.

Target localization is one of the most widespread applications of WSN (Wireless Sensor Network). However, in a number of specific harsh scenarios, physical location of anchor node may drift because of influence of external environment or human factors, which in turn leads to the estimated location of unknown node is not accurate. Therefore, a reliable node localization algorithm for WSN based on weighted AHP-GRA is proposed in this paper. Firstly, distance change among nodes in localization scenarios is counted and reference sequence is constructed, then comprehensive influence matrix is obtained by environmental factors. Next, the weighted comprehensive influence matrix is further obtained by combining the two. After that, the node confidence level is obtained based on AHP-GRA, and three reliable nodes with the highest confidence level are taken as anchor nodes to complete localization by using trilateral localization method. Simulation results show that the algorithm in this paper effectively improves localization effect of WSN in complex scenes. Compared with other algorithms, the algorithm in this paper has great advantages in selection of reliable nodes, localization accuracy, and localization coverage. © 2023 SPIE.

This study investigates the reliance of English learners on AI-based writing tools and the repercussions for human-computer interaction (HCI). Through survey and interview administered to a sample of English learners, this study investigates their reliance on AI tools, its impact on their writing skills, and their attitudes toward these technologies. The results disclose a significant reliance on AI tools among participants, with the majority relying on them for writing assignments and having doubts about their writing ability without them. The findings emphasize the potential benefits of AI tools for enhancing learners' writing skills and boosting their confidence. However, they also raise concerns about overdependence, decreased participation in face-to-face learning, and addiction to these technologies. The research highlights the need for a balanced incorporation of AI tools in language learning. The study contributes to the field of Human-computer Interaction (HCI) by providing insights into user experiences and promoting informed decision-making regarding the incorporation of AI-based writing tools in language learning contexts. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper implements a PXI Express kernel driver that complies with the Interchangeable Virtual Instruments (IVI) specification based on the self-developed digital oscilloscope hardware and the Galaxy Kirin Linux operating system produced in China, which is compatible with both PCI and PCIe buses. The integrity of device connectivity and register access between the digital oscilloscope hardware module and software was verified through the user interface, and the driver is smooth to use and can meet the design requirements. © 2023 IEEE.

Although body centered cubic (BCC) light weight high entropy alloy (LWHEA) has high specific strength, its uniform deformation ability is poor, which restricts its engineering application. This study investigated the effect of heat treatment on the grain refinement and tensile property of hot-forged TiZrVNbAl LWHEA. The as-forged sample occurred partly recrystallization at grain boundaries because of relative high strain rate. Fully recrystallized grains with the size of ~45 μm were obtained after annealing at 750℃ for 1 h, and the grain size will increase when annealing temperature increased further. Compared with the as-forged sample, the uniform elongation of samples annealed at 750℃ for 1 h increased from 3% to 15%. The above results could be a good reference for the mechanical property improvement of hot forged LWHEA. © 2023 SPIE.

Therefore, there are studying many kind of science research including estimate satellite geometry parameters, rain attenuation, cloud attenuation and satellite network architecture based on national satellite that will be launched to space *** paper is described by detail that is the mathematical modelling of satellite geometry parameters particularly antenna look angles of the ground control *** this paper, aim of research work is determined the geometrical parameters of the national satellite 113.E and 74E to be launched in Mongolia by using a mathematical model to make a comparative analysis and to show some result. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning-based automatic patient-specific quality assurance (PSQA) alleviates medical resource pressure and ensures the safety of patient treatment plans by predicting the actual dosage difference distribution or metrics. However, deep learning is often affected by extremely unbalanced data distributions, and in clinical practice, the number of normal plans is always much larger than that of abnormal plans. On the other hand, the distribution of patients' lesion sites could be more balanced. The performance of models is often seriously biased in these subgroups, posing a challenge to the reliability of deep learning in the clinical application of PSQA. In this work, we propose a subgroup-adaptive network to address the problem of subgroup drift in PSQA. Our experiments achieved a state-of-the-art (SOTA) MAE of 0.69. Our proposed work can significantly improve the reliability of deep learning in the practical clinical application of PSQA. © 2023 IEEE.

Protection is critical for information, property, and even living beings. The usage of IoT and biometrics for security is becoming increasingly common as technology progresses. Facial recognition is widely accepted as a universally applicable, aggregated, and easily accessible biometric technology. Facial biometrics employ the same indicators that humans use to differentiate between persons. This study has investigated the face recognition technology in order to create a dependable door lock system. The biometric face recognition system developed using ESP32-CAM. When a face comes in front of the camera, the system instantly detects and recognizes it. A prototype was created and tested to evaluate the security functionality, effectiveness, and dependability. The findings indicate the result may be utilized effectively improve person's existence and safety, as well as for industrial and residential applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless endoscopic robots, which are often used in gastrointestinal diseases, are difficult to integrate multiple functions simultaneously due to their limited size. Based on the functional modular working concept of capsule robots previously proposed. The drive module supports and navigates the functional modules for specific diagnosis or treatment, and the two can form new structures through docking mechanisms. The drive module developed so far has a simple structure and can realize basic transportation work, but the motion state is only a single axial rotation. In this study, we will introduce a magnetic drive module of a gastrointestinal capsule robot with forward translation movement ability, which can ensure horizontal forward movement under the condition of maintaining stability at one end, and the rotation surface of the external control magnetic field is replaced from a plane perpendicular to the direction of motion to a plane parallel to it, which is conducive to the utilization of the rotation degrees of freedom of the vertical plane by the functional module that matches it. Experiments show that the drive module can advance stably within the error range. © 2023 IEEE.
