A multiband PIFA antenna is described for mobile handset usage. The suggested PIFA antenna is intended for use in the frequency band from 1.8GHz to 2.4GHz. The proposed PIFA is useful for GSM1800 (1710-1880MHz), GSM1900 (1850-1990 MHz), UMTS (1920-2170MHz), WCDMA (1.9-2.18 GHz) and LTE (2.53GHz). The multiband PIFA antenna is designed by incorporating slots and loops in PIFA. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital twins are becoming more relevant for business and academic users due to advances in IoT, AI, and Big Data. Due to global urbanization, pollution, public safety, traffic congestion, and other challenges have arisen. New technologies make cities smarter to keep up with growth. In the Internet of Things (IoT) age, many sensing devices acquire and/or produce a broad range of sensory data over long periods of time for a variety of businesses and applications. The use case determines the device's data stream volume and speed. The efficacy of the analytics process used to analyze these streams of data to learn, predict, and act determines IoT's worth as a business paradigm changer and quality-of-life technology. This study introduces Deep Learning (DL), a family of advanced machine learning techniques, to enhance IoT analytics and teaching. Introducing new results, challenges, and research opportunities. This study may assist academics and newbies comprehend how to use DL to smart cities. Analyzing and summarizing major IoT DL research initiatives. Check out smart IoT devices with DL embedded into their AI. Ultimately, the study will identify issues and suggest additional research. Each chapter concludes with experimental findings and the newest literature review. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to take use of the Internet of Things' numerous applications and benefits, every industry has adopted it into their environment. The deployment of devices made by many manufacturers in an IoT context has also made it easier for threat actors to conduct a range of assaults by taking advantage of the flaws these devices include. Most gadgets are so small that there is very little room for security components to be incorporated. The development of the Internet of Things has been extremely beneficial to the healthcare sector. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought further attention to the potential of smart healthcare applications. They are one of the essential sectors that require extra attention since they deploy life-saving technology with few security measures. A smart healthcare equipment vulnerability that is exploited might possibly be fatal. The security issues smart health devices confront are examined in this paper, and the essential steps to take to improve security are recommended © 2023 IEEE.

The investigation on smart cities using WSN-wireless sensor networks seems to be able to benefit from the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) since both of the technologies' goals were comparable. Simultaneously with them, research on managing mobile crowd sensing (MCS) and WSN innovations encounter fresh potential and difficulties, particularly when implemented in a sizable context like a smart city setting. However, fresh approaches are being put out to handle current WSN and resource utilization challenges. To integrate the two technologies of sensing WSN and MCS, this study suggests a hybrid routing protocol depending on the RPL protocol. The idea is to assist the fixed nodes of WSN to improve performance by appropriately using MCS nodes. A fixed WSN has been used to evaluate the suggested protocol to examine the effect of integration on WSN functionality. When compared to RPL without MCS integration, the proposed findings show a good improvement in packet distribution proportion of 17% higher, end-to-end latency of 50% lesser, and energy usage of 25% less. Hence this research believes that the hybrid-RPL protocol may be effective for sensing and data acquisition, particularly in urban and smart city situations. © 2023 IEEE.

At present, capacitive voltage transformers (CVT) are widely used in power systems to extract accurate transmission characteristics for better protection and detection of power systems. The parameters of capacitive voltage transformers are also quite different under different working conditions, and the corresponding transfer functions are different, resulting in the lack of accuracy of the research data. Therefore, the ant-colony-based algorithm is used to study the transfer characteristics of capacitive voltage transformers, establish a harmonic voltage transfer model, and derive the voltage transfer function of this model, so as to analyze the distortion mechanism of the harmonic transfer process of capacitive voltage transformers. After research, it is concluded that the parameters that affect the transmission characteristics of capacitive voltage transformers include ambient electric field, temperature, load ratio, power factor, etc., and the transmission characteristics are corrected by analyzing the influencing factors, so as to improve the accuracy of harmonic transmission, promote the continuous improvement and perfection of capacitive voltage transformers, and become one of the indispensable equipment of power system. © 2023 IEEE.

With the advancement of robotic technologies, an increasing number of robots are envisioned to be deployed in various human-occupied environments such as construction job sites. Although navigation in a static environment is well studied, navigation in such a dynamic environment is still a challenging problem. In particular, construction environments present many challenges as they are often densely populated with both static and dynamic objects (e.g., stocked materials, workers, and equipment). Thus, robots in the construction environment should be capable of adapting to frequent layout changes and dynamic human movements and producing efficient paths in unknown, dynamic environments accordingly. Given the safety-critical nature of the construction environment, it is also critical not to collide, distract, or interfere with workers when robots maneuver around human workers in the workplace. To accommodate this need, this study proposes a Reinforcement Learning (RL)-based navigation model that enables robots to adhere to appropriate safety proxemic considerations aligned with the social work convention of construction workplaces while following a globally planned trajectory. The result showed that our model could secure the respective minimum distance in contrast to the baseline model, which suffered in complex environments. These findings will contribute to building future construction mobile robots with social intelligence that can produce socially compliant and safe behaviors. © international conference on computing in Civil engineering *** rights reserved.

This paper presents a novel solution to improve Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) flight time within the context of telemedicine delivery in smart cities. Our primary research questions addressed are (1) 'How can UAV flight time limitations be extended to facilitate deliveries in smart cities?' and (2) 'How can the proposed solution revolutionise the future of telemedicine?'. To address the first question, a wireless charging station is presented, capable of automatically detecting and charging UAVs when they land in its designated charging area. This charging station effectively eliminates the issue of coil misalignment, which has been identified in previous research publications. To efficiently manage the charging stations and UAVs, a charging network is proposed, responsible for routing UAVs to the nearest charging station, scheduling charging times, and maintaining charging statistics for analytical purposes. The latter question is addressed through an exploration of existing telemedicine delivery systems, accompanied by a discussion on how the proposed solution can significantly contribute to the advancement of telemedicine. It is essential to emphasise that this innovative solution enhances UAV technology for telemedicine delivery and holds broader applicability within smart cities. © 2023 IEEE.

With the growing demand for communication and the rapid development of global mobile communication technology, the fourth generation of mobile communication can no longer meet the needs of people in their working lives for mobile network communication, and the fifth generation of mobile communication is born. This paper first introduces three strategies for the use of the 5G spectrum, namely spectrum dedication, spectrum re-farming, and spectrum sharing. Secondly, it introduces the three main application scenarios for the 5G spectrum, namely enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultrahigh reliability and ultra-low latency services (URLLC), and massive IoT communications (MTC). The presentation concludes with a summary of the impact of the 5G spectrum in today's society and an outlook on its future development. © 2023 IEEE.
