Parallel Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms (pMOEAs) are powerful search techniques used to solve complex problems across various fields. This study presents a comprehensive review of the current state of pMOEAs, analyzing their effectiveness, benefits, limitations, and comparisons with traditional Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEAs). The methodology involved a systematic review of the literature using academic databases such as ACM Digital Library, ScienceDirect, Springer, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and ieee Xplore. Findings indicate that pMOEAs offer significant improvements in performance and robustness compared to traditional MOEAs. Parallelization enables tasks to be divided into subtasks that are solved simultaneously, enhancing efficiency and reducing execution time. Several parallel approaches are discussed, including master-slave, island, diffusion, and hybrid models. The study concludes that pMOEAs provide substantial advancements in performance and robustness over methods like NSGA-II and SPEA2, facilitating more efficient optimization of complex problems through parallel computing. Nonetheless, challenges remain in areas such as scalability, load balancing, and computational efficiency, underscoring the need for hybrid methodologies and advancements in these aspects to address increasingly complex problems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

IT compliance is an area of increasing attention and capital spend in enterprise IT environments. Enforcing compliance is a complex process, which involves following regulatory requirements coming from many, often overlapping sources, and mapping those requirements against a controls framework that implements them on the ground. In this paper, we propose a solution for streamlining the process of analyzing, monitoring and enforcing compliance in the cloud. We rely on text classification methodologies to match both regulatory requirements and controls against a common hierarchy. Finally, we explain how to use the text classification techniques to analyze the regulatory requirements, and match them to executable code that enforces these requirements in the cloud infrastructure components, such as in virtual machines and containers.

Dynamics of complex systems of different nature is described by mathematical models of impulse processes in cognitive maps (CM). Dynamics model is decomposed into two interrelated difference equations systems for measurable and unmeasurable CM nodes respectively. In the first equations system of the CM model fluctuations of the unmeasurable coordinates are considered as external disturbances. Structure and weighting coefficients of the CM model is previously identified in impulse process mode under incomplete measurements of the CM nodes coordinates. Variations of the CM weights against the identified values are considered as internal disturbances during further exploitation of the complex system. A closed-loop robust control system of the CM impulse process is designed in the report to suppress these constrained internal and external disturbances.

Demand for a reliable and adaptive intelligence generalization system has become an essential task to both the WCS's developers and its numerous services providers. Since WCS's spectrum is naturally known to be unstable, time dependent and currently not only scarce in capacity but heavily congested and the impacts of its various services and its rapidly evolving applications are constantly making the system to be extremely complex. However as proposed by Mitola in 1999, cognitive Radio (CR) has been developed with such intelligence capabilities and through it, the present-day WCS's spectrum complexity can be effectively managed, at the same time increases its scarce and the highly varying spectrum utilization particularly in complicated WCS's environments. To address this, CR system through its intelligence mechanism, which is also known as the cognitive Engine (CE) enforces such adaptive intelligence functionalities to dynamically adjust its input parameters, observing its surrounding environment and ultimately makes its decision to meet the WCS's desired objective. This paper proposes the hybridization of two different Artificial Intelligence systems to design and implement an adaptive intelligence system for CR systems to predict the WCS's required objective.

The paper is designed for cognitive load classification while playing games. For the processing of mundane tasks, cognitive load can be nearly equal to zero and it can increase with the complexity of the tasks. In this paper, cognitive load is measured for young individuals while playing an android game involving simple to complex brain activity. To record brain activity in terms of cognitive load during the data acquisition process, electroencephalography is used. Electroencephalogram is a type of brain-signal capturing technique, provoked by the electric field produced due to neuronal firing and captured by a sensor placed on the scalp of a subject. The captured brain signal is then processed through various steps with the ultimate aim of classifying the cognitive load of a subject into three classes: low, medium, and high while the subject engages himself in android gaming. The work can have a huge impact on society from understanding underlying game contents to provide parental controls for young individuals.

Medical Diagnosis is the process of determining the disease or condition of a patient by seeing his symptoms. Diagnostic Methods are the procedures used to diagnose a particular disease usually following the report of symptoms, or based on other medical test results. Electrical signals produced by the heart can be assessed in the Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal for identifying heart problems and carry out a diagnosis. In this work, we propose a method for classifying cardiac arrhythmias by using a Fuzzy cognitive Maps (FCMs) approach as a tool to assist the physician to diagnose more efficiently the patient condition. First, a QRS complex detection algorithm is used. From each QRS complex, two linear prediction coefficients (LPC) are calculated as well as the mean square value, which altogether generate the data set utilized for training the FCM classifier. The ECG signals used to generate the training data set were obtained from the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. In this paper, the method has been focused on classifying premature ventricular contraction (PVC) and normal beats, but indeed the proposed procedure can be extended for detecting other cardiopathies as well. © 2019 ieee.

The complexity of Business Intelligence (BI) processes need to be explored in order to ensure BI system properly treats the tacit knowledge as part of data source in BI framework. Therefore, a new approach in handling tacit knowledge in BI system still needs to be developed. The library is an ideal place to gather tacit knowledge. It is a place full of explicit knowledge stored in various bookshelves. Nevertheless, tacit knowledge is very abundant in the head of the librarians. The explicit knowledge they gained from education in the field of libraries and information was not sufficient to deal with a complex and contextual work environment. complexity comes from many interconnected affairs that connect librarians with the surrounding environment such as supra-organizations, employees, the physical environment, and library users. This knowledge is contextual because there are various types of libraries and there are different types of library users who demand different management. Since tacit knowledge hard to capture, we need to use all possible sources of externalization of tacit knowledge. The effort to capture this knowledge is done through a social process where the transfer of knowledge takes place from an expert to an interviewer. For this reason, it is important for the interview process to be based on SFL theory (Systemic Functional Linguistics). © 2019 ieee.

The increasing size of modern applications and services produces huge volumes of a wide variety of valuable data of different veracity at a high velocity, which in turn leads to a new challenge to big data analytics. Researchers often use these 5V's (volume, variety, value, veracity, and velocity) to describe the features of big data. The interest of discovering patterns from a large collection of data has risen in business for transforming goods into services. Rich sources of big data include complex sensing-centered service systems. Embedded in these big data are useful information and knowledge. In this paper, we present an innovative framework for supporting cognitive-based big data analytics for frequent pattern mining. Evaluation results show the applicability of our framework to support cognitive computing for big data analytics of frequent patterns.
