This paper presents a benchmark study of Breadth-First Search (BFS) and Depth-First Search (DFS) traversal algorithms applied to complex Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) within Neo4j, utilizing the Graph data Science (GDS) and Awesome Procedures on Cypher (APOC) libraries. DAGs are widely used in fields like data science, project management, software engineering, and bioinformatics to manage dependencies without cycles. Our experiments evaluate the performance of GDS and APOC on DAGs generated from Feature Models representing dependencies in Software Product Lines (SPL). Results indicate that GDS consistently outperforms APOC, particularly for large and intricate graph structures. These findings highlight the importance of optimized traversal techniques for managing complex DAGs efficiently, offering insights into scalability and performance improvements for real-world applications. © 2024 ieee.

Microstructure analysis plays a crucial role in additive manufacturing (AM) processes as it provides significant insights into material properties and print quality. Detecting melt pool boundaries and porosity defects within microstructure samples is a complex task due to inherent image processing and data analysis challenges. To address this, we propose a deep learning-based approach that employs state-of-the-art deep learning models with convolutional neural network architectures (e.g., U-Net and FPN). This approach enables automatic segmentation and detection of melt pools and porosity in AM microstructure images. Visualization results demonstrate significant potential in accurately identifying microstructures using limited data. A comparative evaluation of various deep learning network architectures indicates that U-Net paired with EfficientNet b7 is better suited for melt pool segmentation, and the FPN with the DenseNet 201 backbone attains the highest accuracy for porosity. This work and the generated results demonstrate great promise in enhancing AM quality control through deep learning-powered microstructure analysis.

As Japan's population continues to age, the rise in dementia cases has become a major societal issue. For early diagnosis and rehabilitation of dementia, research has focused on techniques that measure hand-motor skills to evaluate cognitive function. Previous systems faced challenges such as the need for improved hand movement evaluation methods, difficulty in system operation and implementation by end-users, and inadequate methods for data provision and visualization. This paper aims to enhance a web service to assess manual dexterity through tapping tasks. The proposed system has revised the evaluation method for scenarios where multiple tapping actions are performed under the same instruction, enabling more accurate assessments of motor function. Additionally, by employing Docker container technology to simplify system startup and converting recorded data into the more user-friendly XLSX format for use in applications like Excel, the system has improved data handling, making it more accessible for end-users. © 2024 ieee.

Design and optimization of antenna for cognitive Radio (CR) applications is proposed. The utilization of PIN diode is explored, offering switching states make it ideal for reconfigurability. It aims to address the challenges posed by the complex design systems used in CRN antennas. The design process involves the creation of antennas with different number of diodes (one with five PIN diodes, other with two PIN diodes) to achieve desired frequency response. The antenna with two PIN diodes provides return loss of -17 dB, good gain of 4.01 dB. It operates in wideband 2.8 GHz-10.3 GHz (UWB) in one state which will be used for channel sensing and operates in sub bands like 2.9 GHz-6.1 GHz (Satellite communication), 7.1 GHz-7.7 GHz (weather radar systems), 8.8 GHz -9.8 GHz (Satellite communication uplinks and downlinks, Military and defense applications for target tracking and surveillance), 7 GHz-8.4 GHz (Radar systems for air traffic control, Telecommunication), 9 GHz-10.2 GHz (radar systems used in aircraft for terrain mapping and weather detection).in the remaining states which will be used in communication, makes it suitable for cognitive radio applications. © 2024 ieee.

An Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) for assessing cognitive load in Brain-Machine Interfaces (BMIs) is suggested to be developed and evaluated in this work. EEG characteristics and task-related metrics are only two examples of the pertinent input variables that the ANFIS model uses to forecast and evaluate cognitive load levels. In order to deal with the inherent imprecision and uncertainty in cognitive load data, fuzzy learning is utilised to convert discrete input values into fuzzy sets through the use of predefined membership functions. To represent the complex interactions between input variables and cognitive load, rule activation and inference mimic the cognitive process of integrating data from several rules. The resulting fuzzy output is then defuzzed using techniques like centroid or mean of maxima to yield an understandable and straightforward measure of cognitive burden. The efficacy of the ANFIS model in offering a comprehensive and precise assessment of cognitive load levels in BMIs is demonstrated. The ANFIS model has potential as a reliable and flexible method for evaluating cognitive stress in the context of brain-machine interfaces. The study shows superior performance over an existing KNN method with an accuracy of 90%, precision of 88%, recall of 82%, and sensitivity of 85%. © 2024 ieee.

cognitive Radio (CR) and 5G technology are acting as new alternatives to traditional emergency communications that has been the subject of extensive study due to its potential problems with interoperability. One of the essential features that allows cognitive radio systems to take advantage of spectrum opportunities is spectrum detection. Because of its simplicity and fast detection speed, cooperative sensing based on energy is primarily employed in current cognitive radio model systems. The amount of cooperating cognitive radios affects the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing. On the other hand, the perpetually shifting behavior of emergency enforcement officials cause the total number of cognitive radios to fluctuate. In this research paper, a sporadic dual threshold cooperative energy detection (DTED) has been proposed whose sporadic nature due to dynamic admission of cognitive radios into the system dependent upon time has been modelled. The spectrum sensing method utilizes the ultralow latency and high data rates of the 5G technology to contact the first responders and exploit the free spectrum slots for communication. Additionally, the precise quantitative closed-form formulas for the sensing performance have been derived for investigating the dynamic responses of cognitive radios. The proposed method has surpassed the existing single threshold methods in all the simulation results making it an ideal candidate for Emergency Safety systems based on 5G. © 2024 ieee.

Attention deficit is a neurobiological disorder in which students exhibit abnormal levels of inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, academic underachievement, and behavioural problems. Students suffering from attention disorder face slowed learning due to challenges in maintaining focus, organising tasks, and retaining information. In recent times, students are increasingly experiencing anxiety and depression, nervousness, problems dealing with Central Nervous System, Peripheral Nervous System, Emotional distress, and a susceptibility to conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), Childhood Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME), Absence Epilepsy and Migraine. Recent studies of neurological research highlight that specific video games have positive effects on cognitive and motor functions in students. The proposed research aims to present a novel approach to develop a video game prototype in algorithmic approach exclusively for students with Attention Deficit. Concepts of data mining are used to understand and explore the data to gain quality information from it. The research methodology involves a multidisciplinary approach, drawing from neurology, pediatrics, Game designers, and data mining technologies. The initial phase involves an in-depth analysis of the cognitive and motor challenges faced by students with Attention Deficit, enabling the integration of suitable therapeutic elements into the game mechanics. In conclusion, the research bridges the gap between pediatric healthcare and therapeutic gaming. The innovative video game promises to enhance the lives of students with Attention Deficit, enhancing their cognitive abilities and memory, and paving the way for further exploration of video games as a valuable complement to traditional treatment approaches for epilepsy and other neuro-developmental disorders. © 2024 ieee.

Machine learning has recently seen a significant upsurge in its influence across diverse scientific domains. Among the array of machine learning techniques, the support vector machine (SVM) has emerged as a powerful supervised method. To enhance the SVM's precision, the adoption of kernel methods has become commonplace. Notably, the integration of orthogonal functions as the SVM's kernel has led to substantial improvements in accuracy. However, it is essential to note that the use of these functions also introduces heightened time complexity to the SVM along with imposing some limitations on data. In response to this challenge, a general formulation of orthogonal Jacobi kernel functions has been proposed. This formulation allows the user to choose classical Jacobi polynomial kernels, fractional or rational ones. Next, we develop a data-parallel technique implemented on heterogeneous computing systems to accelerate the computation of kernel matrix. The ensuing experimental results, conducted on the benchmark datasets, were founded on three distinctive rational mappings: algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic. Spanning data sizes from 700 to 3800, these mappings exhibited remarkable speedup factors of 3.967, 4.599, and 2.807, respectively. © 2024 ieee.

Industrial IoT (IIoT) has been adopted due to its significant benefits in industrial operations. However, the rapid proliferation of IIoT devices raises concern about the spectrum shortage. cognitive radio (CR) technology has been proposed as a potential solution to meet the increasing spectrum demand. CR enables IIoT devices to use the licensed spectrum bands opportunistically. Due this exponential growth of IIoT devices, it has become nearly impossible to accommodate all spectrum demands from IIoT devices. To optimize resource management, it is important to classify the packets into different classes to ensure that at least critical packets can be accommodated within the available spectrum. However, categorizing the encrypted packets based on their information priority is complex. To address this challenge, we introduce a lightweight Packet Prioritization Framework (PPF) for CR enabled IIoT (CR-IIoT) networks. The PPF uses convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to extract complex spatial features from encrypted packets. We acknowledge that packets from the same IIOT device may have varying priorities depending on the sensed data. The model's effectiveness is verified using the K-fold cross-validation technique. To ensure the model deployable on IIoT devices, we applied model compression techniques to make PPF lightweight. We created a custom dataset in a simulated IIoT network to evaluate the performance of PPF. Further, we conducted an exhaustive simulation to compare PPF with existing models to validate the accuracy, efficiency, and resource utilization of our model. © 2024 ieee.
